Rated 10 out of 10 by RedPyramid Perfect for any Silent Hill Fan!
This game is perfect for any hardcore Silent Hill fan! If you haven't played it, you need to. If you HAVE played it, but you don't own it, you NEED to add it to your collection. This was the last Silent Hill game I have ever owned, and I'm pretty glad I got it last. People always say, save the best for the last and that's what I did. The game-play is smooth and very easy to handle, even for new comers to Silent Hill, The sound is phenomenal, with an eerie soundtrack by Akira Yamoaka. For it's time, the graphics are good, but today's standards comparing it to games like "The Evil Within" or "P.T", this games graphics are mediocre, but other the that, they're pretty good. The grain effect adds for some macabre atmosphere. And finally, we have the lasting appeal; The game is long, but long enough so it doesn't get boring. The multiple endings make you want to play it again to see what else will happen. I recommend this game to any hardcore horror fan out there looking for a good time.

Silent Hill Orgins is a prequel to the first game of the 1999 Silent Hill. Orgins Story is good, you play as a truck driver Travis who finds his way to the foggy evil town. Like the other Silent Hill games the intro gives a nice opening. Nice music when you walk the dark highway of Silent Hill. The game is creepy the monsters are blood hungry as ever. But the game does have flaws though. The graphics are good but I really didn't see big changes from the PSP version but still the graphics are still good. The sound is great as always, creepy and nice sound effects. The gameplay is the same but the melee weapons break on you when you hit those monsters of Silent Hill. The game is super short wish it was a little longer, puzzles were not hard what so ever. The game does mention names of the bad guys from Silent Hill 1 and 3. Overall the game is good but Silent Hill 1-4 were better. When you beat the game you some extras but not much of replay value here.
Rated 5 out of 10 by The Pink Panda If you are considering this please get a different silent hill
When i first got this game i had high expectations for this. the older silent hill games had a certain level of difficulty and the puzzled were brilliant. i was very unhappy with this game when i beat it in 7 hours. the weapons have more ammo, the game is not as difficult, and it does not have the same silent hill atmosphere as past games. i found the game to be easy to play and not a bad game, but it was short, it was not scarey, the enemies are easier to kill, the storyline left something to be desired, the gameplay was short, and it did not live up to its predecessors. this game was a major disappointment for me. if you are thinking of adding this to your game collection please reconsider and look at silent hill 1, 2, 3, or 4. they have longer gameplay, a scarier atmosphere, better storyline, and they are more challenging with puzzles and obstacles that make you think rather than a game that you can just run through and not have much difficulty with. it was a major flaw in the silent hill saga and does not live up to the games reputation at all.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Da Gamer silent hill origins is a cool game!
silent hill origins is a pretty good game. the graphics are really good. it gets kind of hard to figure out the puzzles. it has a great storyline, but i must say it can get creepy. you never know what is going to happen next. another thing i like is how you can use almost anything for a fighting thing. like you can use a portable T.V and a hammer. you also find some guns later in the game. the monsters are really cool, but some might seem a little creepy. for some of the game you are in a hospital trying to find a girl you save from a fire. then you find mirrors around the hospital. when you touch them you go to a weird creepy place. it might take awhile to get to some action but be patienct and you will get to some really fun stuff. some of the puzzles are kind of hard but you will figure it out. if i could rate this game from 1 to 10..... i would give it a 20! i hope you found this usefull.

I did a lot of research on the Silent Hill games before I went out and bought one, so why not start at the beginning where it all happened before the first Silent Hill came into play. In Silent Hill Origins you play as a truck driver name Travis Grady, who has been struggling with horrible nightmares and a very troubled past. In Silent Hill Origins you have to guide Travis through the troubled town of Silent Hill to confront his past and to find out the disturbing truth about the town. The game is short, but its scary:) its got the scary at the edge of your seat music, scary and disturbing enemies, and Pyramid heads younger brother the butcher( not really his brother but could be LOL). If you want to know how it all began before the original game this is the game, great storyline and I promise you wont be disappointed:)

Silent Hill Origins is a great addition to the silent hill series. Answering the many questions we have all been asking about Silent Hill from the beginning. You play as Travis Grady, a truck driver with a mysterious past that eventually leads him into the town of Silent Hill. The Story line is very strong and will lead you thought the city. The, oh so common puzzles to silent hill have been made a lot more challenging. The graphics have been upgraded up from the psp version of this game, to suit the ps2 version. Story line is length, but not to long, that you get tried of playing. But dont let the fact that it is not made by the "Silent Team" throw you off. The story will match up. I would highly recommend this game to fans and players wanting to learn what the buzz is about. please enjoy the Review and the game.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Silent hill gamer IF your a horror game fan get this game
I never played any Silent Hill games before this one but when I first got it and popped it in to my Playstation 2 and started playing the game was brilliant. It has so many weapons to use to fight monsters in this game and you have unlimited amount of weapons you can hold like a portable tv sledghammer there are 6 guns to get in the game and 1 special to unlock when you hit and kill monsters there isn't a whole lot of blood but when you touch a mirror and get to an alternate universe of the place you're at there is alot of blood on the walls there are numerous amounts of different monsters and there are 4 different areas in the game that have monsters. It took me after I beat the game it said 13 hours there are some tricky puzzles though but there are clues to them and the storyline is cool.

Silent hill origins was not the best game I played this year. it is relatively short compared to previous games. The mirrors were confusing and made little sense. it was not scary, it was not a 'revelation' of the series,it was a story about a man in silent hill facing his personal demons. the same ol' thing from silent hill 2. I've played all the silent hills for the ps2 (minus shattered memories) and was creeped out by the others. this is a good game for those who are true to the series. but, if you are looking for true fright, I would try the other games
