Shadow Hearts: Covenant
The Best in the Series!!!
I just love this series i really want them to make more but that is probably out of the question because of the rights. Though everyone should get this game it is the bomb it got a lot humor, frustration within the judgement ring, and a great cast of characters along with the story with its music. I'm just saying try it look at videos if u want to see more about it but i recommend it and beat it and was close to mastering it until it got deleted but i'm going to replay it that is how good this is to me the Shadow series is just amazing to me even though most people never heard of it. They hold a special heart in my place especially this one because it is my favorite out of the group i had about 90 hours in it before the deletion of it i mean corruption of my memory card. Just give it a go and see because my taste is different from everyone else but i love it just one thing stopping from giving this a 10 is it is about Yuri and that is all i'm going to say to avoid spoilers. Hope this help if not then sorry have a good day.
A sequal to shadow hearts
This game is simple amazing being a sequel to an amazing RPG it really lives up to the shadow hearts name. The storyline like one is good making you want to keep on playing. The game starts out quite challenging which can cause frustration but it quickly gets easier making for the difficulty we expect in an RPG. The battle system took what 1 introduced The Judgment Ring and utilizes it even more, simply put you can do a combo attack with up to four members. I actually like the battle system more than number one's. As for character development is good all the characters have excellent development. For example the character Blanca who is a wolf you would think that it would be rather hard to give such a personality to a wolf but they pulled it off. The only flaw that I really see in this game is the ending, which still doesn't change the fact of it being an amazing game definitely worth buying.
I have yet to play the first game but you can still play the second one because throughout the game it gives enough back story to give you gist of the first game. playing this one first may serve to spoil the first one or just make it seem more tragic... *sob* i'd rate this series a 5 out of 7 ability to make you cry. Anyways the story is great it has incredible build up and flow, and keeps you on the edge of your seat, and probably lays you on the floor sobbing near the end, and occasionally it makes you laugh out loud or at least chuckle to your self. The characters all have their own quirks and histories, some of them pretty tragic. The graphics are very good for a ps2 game, with beautiful scenery. The sound track is GREAT.... especially the battle themes. The historical influences are nice, and server to make the story more engaging. The battle system gets a 7 out of 7 from me. the judgment ring is great! both as a battle system and as at character (lol you'll see what i mean if you play the game) Although this is an RPG it does branch from the linear game play, with side stories for several of the characters. there are also multiple endings. like bad or good ones. all are tragic. this game has it all. Romance, Humor, Action, and Tragedy... If you like RPGs, you can not live without playing this game. NUFF SAID!
This game takes place a bit after the first one. Although the first one had two possible endings, unfortunately this one makes one of them canon (my only problem with this game). There are new characters which are all great. The main character is the same as in the previous. The unexpected ending was pretty cool.
This game is one of the best rpg game I have ever played, enough said.
Watch out, FF7!!
Well, where should I begin? This game was simply amazing. It begins in the eyes of a young Nazi officer named karen who meets the mysterious, however well known to shadow hearts 1 fans, yuri. From the beginning of the game, I was amazed at how well not just the characters, but even the environment was well crafted! Every single detail jumped out at you from every blade of grass outside, to the shining points of swords and teeth of Yuri's demons. Not only that, but the music was phenomenal and very bold to use in an adventure game. Personally, I've never seen really applicable Rave/techno music used so effectively in a game other than well, DDR of course, but I digress. If the music and picture weren't enough, then you'll be blown away at the strange but enticing new combat system they've created. The judgement ring puts the chance to attack in your hands, even though the fighting is turn based. Not to mention that even though it IS turn based, they still treat the field you fight in as an actual space, making magic all the more fun to use on larger groups of enemies! (I still drool over Karen's amazing "fire fencing") The controls were easy to learn and had me hooked in minutes after the first boss fight took place. The use of old world mythology and world war 1 events really meshed together in a way I never thought possible, leaving you wonder, "Was it really like this back then?" just because the events are so well connected. The game itself will easily last you a few months on your first run through, but it has replay value through the roof! I won't give away anything, but after completing the game, you can start over with ALL of your earlier magics, forms AND outfits! The game really has no foreseen end. This game may be hard to find but it is well worth your while! I gotta say, the only downside this game has, is that as all things are, nothing lasts forever... and I say this only because, the discs are breakable... So, if you have extra cash, and can't find out what to spend it on, find this game. Seriously, find it. Just find it.
