The game is very fun, the normal mode on the campaign will get you used to the controls and gameplay. The missions will get harder, there are no pick-ups except salvage. You might find yourself outta ammo and using your pistol with very low health, I did, but with a last chance ability and multiple ways to take cover and dodge enemy bullets there is no way to worry. You like guns blazing? Good way to die, most enemies are pretty well armored and require you to take cover and peek fire or blindfire... unless you have a shotgun or the trusty Frag Mortar then who knows... I give the story a 10, The Massacre is the opening video. The player (Rogue, haha) is with the squad as the GI (genetic Infantry) regiment deploys, they talk and then a nice ride in the deployment pod but a person in the High Command has given out information that they'd be there and how to kill GIs. You watch as missiles rise and begin detroying hundreds of Pods....welcome to Nu Earth....
thi is an excllent game fo people ages 7-39.your a type a person some what like avater the movie(excuse me spelling).the controls are easy and smple weapons and sound is amazing.
Rogue Trooper (3rd Person Shooter)
The story is a rather generic revenge plot to be honest. You play as Rogue a genetic infantryman that is betrayed by higher ups in the military and decide to get revenge for the deaths of your brothers and sisters that all happen to be clones.
The game is a competently presented third person shooter. The only gripes I have with the game is that controls are a bit cumbersome if you want to swap weapons. The game assigns selecting weapons and grenades by pulling up a small menu using the d-pad.
The game does try to change things up by offering you abilities and what not to increase the strategic level of the gameplay, but you can get by just running and gunning down enemies.
Graphically Rogue Trooper isn't anything special, but the game isn't terrible in terms of appearance either. I do feel like many of the environments were repeated way too much though. The game also suffers from a few hiccups where objects may be inside of another object as well. This tends to happen in the cinematics though. So, I'm guessing it was done on purpose to tone down the adult content.
There isn't anything to complain about in terms of the soundtrack. It works for the most part, and can be easily ignored when it doesn't. The voice acting is rather decent.
Rogue Trooper offers little in terms of replay value to be honest. After you beat the game you can replay the game with a few cheats on, but none of them are anything to brag about. You can also play multiplayer, but I highly doubt you'll find anyone to play with. You can also replay the game on a harder difficulty, but I can't imagine wanting to run through the game more than once.
Lasting Appeal: 4
the perfect come back to game
i got this at block buster in maybe 2007, and i absolutely loved it. the story is top notch and the main character is totaly bad. its fairly easy as you don't need to find ammo or med packs, you just make them from scrap and even dead enemies. needless to say you will probaly go through it pretty quick but has many levels and awesome replay ability. for some odd reason i traded it in, but i saw it in gamestop a couple weeks ago and the gameplay and story still blows my mind away. why it didnt get the recognition it deserved i'll never know.
The perfect sci fi shooter.
This game is a classic. Excellent graphics, sound, and game play. One amazing story loaded with action. This game is available for wii also.
