Red Faction II
I own the 1st Red Faction and I have to say that it was an excellent game. Then after buying this one I noticed one thing, it really has nothing to do with the first except the destroyable environment and the whole nano tech thing. The graphics are really good and the weapons are neat and creative. Single player is good except the storyline is...eh but the levels are cool because after you beat them you can return to any of them unlike the first RF. The only thing is the story could have been a little bit longer but oh well. The multiplayer is without a doubt the best part of the game because you can customize just about everything including the bots (computer controlled players if you didn't know what they were) and there are tons of maps to choose from, plus if you plug in the multitap, you can play with 3 of your friends! The voice acting is superb! So overall this is definitely one game you won't want to miss out on.
Wow, this is a great game!
Red Faction II came out on the ps2 in 2002. Yeah that is an old game, but it is truly amazing. The gameplay is great. The big deal in the Red Faction games is being able to destroy the environment. Yes that is cool and all, but that is barely able to compete with the rest of the game! The graphics are amazing for the ps2, and probably a lot more realistic than most ps2 shooters. For example, if you shoot someone with a missile launcher, you see their body explode into chunks of deli meat. In most games (if not all) for the ps2, there is an explosion and you either see their body lying on the ground, or see them slowly lowering themselves onto the ground, (like in the Desert Storm games). The weapons are very original, the sound for them is good as well. I am pretty sure that the multiplayer is more fun than singleplayer, but then again, singleplayer rocks. You can play up to 4 player split screen and that is a CRAZY FUN! Man I would recommend this to anyone!
I played this game and I was really shocked that some voice actors in this game are awesome Hollywood actors. This game is a great action game. The environment in the game can be removed to your liking. You can blow up walls and find hidden areas by doing that. The weapons in the game are a little far-fetched but they are still cool. The grafix in the game are amazing. If I had to choose any game that would take a first person shooter prize, it most likely would be this game. This game gave me an experience to remember. I didn't like the middle of the game, though. It was weird. This game really has nothing to do with the first one whatso ver. This game is entirely different except for the environment shifting. To make the long story short, this game is my favorite first person shooter.
4-player Split Screen is all its good for...
I owned Red Faction 1 and still own it, and I have to say that game was one of the best in its generation. As for Red Faction 2, it was not, they didnt overhaul the graphics dramatically, and the campaign (if you like RF1's) was a MAJOR letdown... The destruction of landscape (called Geo-mod) was really cut down on so there is not much you can destroy anymore, and the whole setting of the game is different and it wasnt a great game really. I liked the 4-player split screen (usually played only 2-player) and me and my friends had a blast with that. So if you want to waste a few bucks for a game you can play Deathmatch with your friends, this game is for YOU! But on the other hand, if you want a game with a great campaign, with lasting appeal, then get RF1 (played the campaign twice, on third time), but if you already have that, then get RF:Guerilla, and if you have that (why did you skip a game?) then go buy Fallout or Oblivion or something with a campaign that is good... So I Give this game a............................. 4/10.
This game is awesome! I own every Red Faction, and even though its an older game, it has the gameplay of a new game. The graphics are fantastic for a ps2 game, gameplay is great, just that it can be difficult at times, and a very good story w/ a creative setting. I recommend this game to all, as well as the others.
gret game to play.
very good game for people who love to play games like fighting.
One of the most under appreciated ps2 era games. Red faction 2 may not appeal to all fps fans. However RF2 is one of those games were IMO the developers went above and beyond to bring a game that would give players what they want, more of everything I.E more guns, maps, and features. With that being said the one thing the first Red Faction still does better is story line. RF2 really shines in its multiplayer.
This game is made for people without Xbox LIVE, because it creates the human-like bots, similar to combat training in CODBO except you dont need to spend 100$ + on equiptment.
