Nobunaga's Ambition : Rise to Power
this is an awesome game and from a certain standpoint it's also a learning game this game is simply amazing and Koei manages to get every single detail right about Warring States Japan and all of it's heroes and villains and historical events
BUT sadly if this game allowed more created officers portraits and for the fact that you can play only one Daimyo and also that the tutorial levels seem non rewarding unlike Romance of the Three Kingdoms 11 game where you can get extra portraits and also the AI seems lack luster on the first two difficulty modes your best playing the higher ones all this makes this game just fall short by one inch or two from a perfect game if you love Romance of the Three Kingdoms then you will love this game BUT if you hope for stuff like i said above then this game won't be the best choice and if you don't like dumb AI then pass this game
If you like strategy games you will love this one. You build up your land, army, peoples loyalty and takeover japan. You can negotiate with other lords make alliance, or threaten them or request for military help. As your fame grows by your deeds and wining wars you can give higher ranks to your officers to keep them loyal. There is so many options. Oh yes send out ninjas. as well as recruit or fire people. You have to unify japan. Like a chess game you have to play smart.. KOEI is one of the best makers of strategy games like ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS games. Like all strategy games the real fun is out thinking your opponent. KOEI you should have made this up to at least a 4 player game but thats ok it is still fun. If you like games like EMPIRE EARTH you will love this game...
I played this game many years ago on the Super Nintendo, and it is an amazing series. The game itself is very interesting from a historical standpoint, and as a young person I learned a great deal about economics, usage of resources, politics, military strategy, and other ventures that governments and feudalistic empires of the past dealt with on a daily basis. The scope of this series is simply breathtaking, and I know any history buff or military strategist will enjoy this game for many, many hours. If you want a game that's original, entertaining, yet also informative, than this is the game for you! Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
