MLB 08: The Show
Personally, i love this game because i got it last year and i still play it non stop. The road to the show feature is pretty cool, but i get bored with it cause it takes you a long time to get called up to the majors! The advancment goals aren't the easiest because they're all over the place with obp having to be higher than 500. or something. Other than that, the game is great. My favorite is franchise because you get feedback from your players. For example, i used the yankees (cause i love them) and i got feedback from Jorge Posada saying he would like a better weight room or from Derek Jeter saying a team bus. King of the Diamond is pretty cool to. One thing i don't like about Homerun Derby is that you have to play as two people. Like you can't just play as A-Rod from the yanks. You have to choose another person, so it's not head to head. I have MVP Baseball 2003 that i usually play when i want to play homerun derby. Other than that, i recommend this as a must buy!
MLB the Show was great. My favorite game mode on the show has to be career mode. There was only about two problems with career mode, one is in every other game mode in the game x is to throw home, o is to throw to first, triangle is to throw to second, and square is third base. Well in career mode square is first base, x is to throw to second base, o is for third, and triangle is home. Other than that career is beast. I'm a Phillies fan so when i saw Ryan Howard hit a home run and he knew it was gone he just jump around and didn't just letting go of his bat like on the game tips book. I got this game right when it came out and its' still may favorite game. So go out and buy the game and play but don't just play go out side and play baseball for real.
The road is the show !!
MLB 08 has the best career mode of any sports game I have ever played. And that is saying a lot since I have been gaming for about thirty plus years. I have never had a career mode in any game keep my interest for two plus years before. At one time I felt that the best career/franchise mode was, believe it or not, Baseball Stars on the old NES. But when this game came out, it blew me away and that takes a lot of blowing to do that any more. It's not the prettiest graphics ever, and yes the controls take some getting used to, but when you are begging the manager for a start because you know you are better than the guy starting ahead of you, well welcome to the bigs rook!! There is nothing like having to spend a year in AA ball to really make one appreciate getting that chance in the majors. And when you make your first all-star team, or when you just get to pinch run 5 or 6 games in a row, well welcome to the major leagues. Pitching can be an easier route to the majors, but you have many more growth areas to keep up with. This game can really take up a lot of your time and I have never gotten into any other mode than the Road to the Show. I would without hesitation recommend this game to any sports fan and really. really. really recommend it to a baseball fan. Without a doubt, this is the one to have in your collection along with a Tiger Woods Game, a Madden Game, and a Katamari Damacy Game.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE
What can I say... I love this game! Everywhere from the players, to the seasons, to the teams, to the online, and so on.. I made a few customizable characters, and its a blast!! The Controls are awsome however, they get confusing. I found myself looking back to the manual quite offen. There are alot of controls so its hard to remember them. The graphics are awsome and some of the best I've played on PS2. I think that the worst part about the game are the announcers. I've turned it off about 17 times!!! They are soooo annoying. It seems like they are fans of the other team. They bag on my team more offen than the compliment me. But it might just be that i just suck at the game, so they insult my team. Other than that, I'd say: If you like baseball games, and are looking for a non expencive game, check it out. Ive never played 2k8, 2k9, or 09 the show, sooo.. im not sure if those games are better than Mlb 08 The Show Even if they are, I WOULD STILL LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!! I give it a 10/10
This is the best of this seirs yet!
I got this 2 days ago for an early b-day present and i love it. In this one Road to the show is back and better than ever, not only do you have to achieve the goals that are given to you the rate you on how well you do by giving you points 20 being the best and -20 being the worst. I love this game and if your looking for a baseball game that lets you do a career on it I would buy it trust me you'll be happy that you did, so go out and buy it you wont regret that you did trust me you really really wont. I didn't think anything would beat Major league Baseball 07 the show but this one takes the cake theres so much stuff to do on here, it's like every year they come out with something better in this game. It's unbelievable and even if you play it all day you wont get bored.
Best Game Ever? You Guessed It!
I mostly think that this is the best MLB baseball game in the WORLD! Great graphics, great sounding, it has almost everything a baseball game needs! The greatest players of today are back for a fight for the World Series Championship! Are you new to the game? Not a problem! During certain games and game modes tips will pop up to help yo hoist in your season! Do you think last year's career mode wasn't enough? Well, this year the career mode has been modified to fit you better! Do you want a fun mini game to play with a friend or the computer? Then get on your game face for King of the Diamond! Are you being tricked by that batter in the lineup who is always hitting a homerun off of you? Get his report of his weaknesses and pay him right back with that curveball on the corner of the plate! Plus, is that pitcher always striking you out? Look at his Pitcher Analysis to finally hit that ball off the plate and into the field! Wanna get over the fences with your own personal Homerun Derby? Well get out that bat and choose your opponents and choose any field from the All- Star selection of Yankee Stadium to the monster wall at Fenway Park!
i really like this game and got for a b day present. Anyway, first off:the grapichs, they are outstanding the croud is ok but no one needs the croud something bad is if you hit it foul it bounces out of stands. Controls: i always like the power swing but the down side is it swings sloooooow and for stealing, it's confusing to do double steal you have to press L2 but with runners on corners it's very confusing to make 1 runner steal. challenge is a 7 because it's sometimes easy and sometimes hard one time i won 14-0 and once i lost 7-0. now the umpires are kind of cheap they make bad and good calls but another good thing is the rob home run indicator. it lets you take balls out of the stands if you time it right. so i give it a 9 and i recommend it to anyone who likes sports games.
great graphics and pretty cool
I think this game is great the graphics are tremendous for the ps3. The players are axactly the same in real life and the pitching is great.you can choose from a variety of pitches that the player has. the batting is difficult but it is good. I think the fans are cool bacuase they are real compared to the other years. the umpires call borderline calls that are realistic. the fielding is very realistic and the players are just as good in the game as real life. 10 out of 10!the fields are just like the pros and the minor leage sysyem is better than ever. i reccomend this game to all gamers out there. I saved up all my money for this game and it was totallly werth it trust me dude. go out and buy it today right now or else they will all be out.
MLB 08:The Show Review
I really wanted this game. I saved up my money, traded in some games and found enough money to get MLB:08 The Show. It was really worth it. I was very excited, I couldn't wait to play Road to the Show. I wasn't disappointed. This game is great. I was happy to see when playing that almost every player has their unique stance, no matter if they were a superstar or a bench player. Franchise mode: Seriously, I don't think there is much of a difference between this Franchise mode and the Franchise mode from two years ago. Still, it is very fun. However it get's quite boring after awhile when you have to manage your team with fake players. Road to The Show 2.0: I must say this is different than others. I just love it. However, as hard as I try, after Spring Training I go to AA. I think it is impossible to go to AAA automatically. This is also very challenging because your coach gives you goals that you have to complete, usually in a period of two or three weeks. This may get annoying because you want to work at one particular attribute, but if you want to succeed in this game, you have to work at the attributes that your coach assigns you to.
08 the show
im fan of the MLB series. i enjoyed the road to the show mode. the franchise needs some fixing up. I would like to see more of the minor league, along with the players. one things the MVP series had, which they could add, is create a team, or staduim build. well thats my deal, ill back and forth with this game or 2K8, gee go with reyes or howard.
