Better than MvC 3
I remember wasting a bucket full of quarters on the MvC 2 arcade machine at the laundromat the game was so much fun and action packed and when I got the game 3 years later for the PS2 it bought so many memories.WAY BETTER THAN MARVEL vs CAPCOM 3.

the past has never felt this good
MVC2 is a gem. Shore, the graphics might not be the best to todays standards, but ask yourself, do graphics realy mater if the game is amazing. Answer: No. This game has a fight machanic and custimizable fighting opitions that blend together so smoothly that playing this hardcore fighting game feels in no way, shape, or form clunky or stale. With a roster of well over 50 characters(with a sizalbe portion of the capcom side being from street fighter) and choosable assist attacks, the possalbities of three man(or woman) teams are endless. This game truly makes up for the bad wrap that the fighting game genre has gottan over the years. Good work, Capcom.

classic game of epic porportions
It took me a while but i got Mvc 2 and I gotta say its just plain awsome and thats it its just awesome words cant even describe on how good this game is but since its a review i might as well say something. The first thing you notice is sheer number of characters to choose from, it seems that marvel and capcom are about to go war with so many characters. The typical setup for fighting game has you going through a couple of rounds but there are no rounds in this game instead you choose a team of three and go against another team of three tag team style and fight one battle. The controls work great and when you get the hang of them youll be launching opponents into the air and air combo them just like that. Strategy is one integral part of the game as you choose your characters you choose what asist they will use which will come in handy if your getting your butt kicked. One thing I thought was interesting was the shop that has artwork, alternate color schemes, additional characters, and additional stages to buy with the points that you get from playing the game, this kinda takes away the challenge of unlocking new things but its a nice addition. I only have two complaints one is some of the new stages are alternate versions of the ones you got, and two is the final bosswho was challenging and pretty cool but he just doesnt seem to fit in the game well. These are only minor so overall this is a great game and no one should ever pass this up.

Best in the Fighting Genre
Anyone who has played the side scrolling "versus" fighting games knows the Street Fighter franchise. Street Fighter actually started the genre way back in the day. Fast forward twenty years, and what you have is the best of all the Street Fighter sequels with the full complement of Marvel Superheroes to choose from as well.
Gameplay is FANTASTIC. Unlike the precurser on the PS1, you can seamlessly switch between one of your three chosen teammates for true tag team action. The graphics are every bit as good as the arcade precursors with more characters to choose from, and all the combos and juggles that you have grown to love or hate from the series.
Yes, the music is lame . . . but I usually crank up the stereo system when playing anyway. You want a story line? Play an RPG. If you want a pure versus brawl that has hours of endless play, combos, and characters to master, they don't get any better than this.
The only game better may be Marvel vs Capcom 3 . . . just played it yesterday, and might have to finally upgrade to a PS3!

The Best Fighting Series
Marvel vs Capcom 2 had a big affect in my life, and to me is the best fighting game ever. I first played this game in the arcade at Walmart, and was immediatly hooked. This game gameplay is pretty easy to adjust to, and is pretty much a buttom masher. The graphics look impressive at the time, and still impresses me today. This game has a large viriaty of your favorite Marvel characters like: Spiderman, Wolverine, and Ironman, and your favorite characters: Strider, Megaman, and Ryu. This game is perfect for any fighting game fanatic, and i hope everybody will enjoy this game as much as I did.

Best ButtonMasher Crossover
Ok so i have been a fighting game fan for most of my life and let me tell you, ive been living a long time and this game has to be the best fighting game i have ever played besides street fighter 3 third strike.... but yeah the storyline..well there isnt one! but who cares about story anyways.. its a fighting game you probobly just want to beat people up like me! haha the gameplay deffinetely surpasses any and all fighting games. Sure youve got your button mashers out there at the arcades and of course friends who have never touched a fighting game in their lives.. but still your going to have a great time playing because the game was pretty much made for button mashing! the graphics are also some of the best ive seen for a fighting game. its just so beutiful to see 2D Characters over a 3D layout. its just superb. Far better then tatsunoko vs capcom (even though that has great graphics also. But the game has its ONE FAULT...Character balance..this game probobly has THE WORST character balance ive ever seen. Cable, Iron man, Warmachine, BB hood and about 5 more are WAYYYYY too overpowered in this game. All the rest of the characters are PLAYABLE but if your in a tournament somewhere.. trust me you wont see one person not being cheap and not using the (arround 8) characters with pretty much superpowers. all the marvel characters have some kind of way of being better then capcom characters in this game. so if your looking for a very FAIR and BALANCED game if your planning to compete then DONT buy this game.. but for single player this game is bomb and i deffinetely reccomend this game.

I KNOW CLASSICS WHEN I SEE IT!!!!!!
There's so many things to say about Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, i don't know where to start. I have been killing myself looking for this game everywhere and i finally got it. I am an old school gamer, but I only go as far back as the super nintendo, but anyway, I love the classics, and I have to say this counts as 1 of them in my book. The action, the near infinite combinations, to me there are no flaws in this game. I play this game and I learned almost every character's moves and specials. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is ridiulously addictive to fighting game fans. You wanna rest but 3 minutes later you pick up the controller, throw on the ps2 and keep playing. I remember going to the arcade every friday just to get my rush in this game. When I play fighting games, to me, speed is a factor, and I love the option of speeding the pace above normal. I am almost uncatchable. But if theres 1 word i would have to choose to describe Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, it would be "PERFECT." I would DEFINITELY suggest this game to any fighting gamers.
