Magna Carta: Tears of Blood
frankly, i love this game. most people are probably drawn to other titles like FF or Shadow Hearts but i like it. it has great graphics and a great story (although a bit cliched) and good likable characters. the only complaints i had about it are as follows: in combat you only control one of three of your characters (the other two just stand there), and the other thing is (spoiler alert) one of my favorite characters had to die. other than that, i'd say this is a cliched but also unique title and deserves more attention from more RPG fans. what makes it unique is just the whole atmosphere of the game. the battles are fun despite that you can only control one character in battle at a time. attacking has a rhythmic feel, sort of like shadow hearts but harder to pull off. anyway, RPG fans should really try it out!
When it comes to RPG Atlus is 2nd to trust
Atlus seems to make some decent games and this game does not fall short of that at all. Although it is generally considered a mediocre RPG, I say the game does well for itself. The storyline takes what would be considered a cliche and throws a few curve balls in the story, even though it has the classic character suffers from amnesia. One thing that could stand some improvement is the voice acting although I have heard worse, much worse. Another odd thing about the game is the fact that the main character is a guy who looks and dresses like a girl. Gameplay? Imagine something like Legend of Dragoon and Shadow Hearts but different. If you are looking for an amazing RPG and love them this game might just be for you. If you are one of those people who just like Final fantasy then turn your attention to something else. It's worth it but most people won't give it a chance.
An alright game, though forgettable
This game honestly was not as great as I thought it would be. Looking at the cover, it certainly looks interesting. The gameplay is unique and fun at times, but frustrating to say the least. The character design was poorly done, because the main character looks so feminine, and yet, is male. Voice acting and dialogue definitely needs work. The soundtrack was forgettable. I would not play this again.
