This game is amazing. A long time ago when the PS2 was new, I had the first. I picked up the second, and surely enough I'm hogging the PS2, though for most people that regularly buy expensive 40 dollar games often then it's most recommended you get the HD collection, 3 games in one and it's pretty cheap, but the comparison from Jak II to Jak and Daxter, is some how like comparing 2 different franchises. Sure, we have the same characters, a ton of new ones.. but here, Jak is a teenager. I'm pretty sure in the first one he's like 10 or something, but here, he's like a grown up. In Jak 3 I believe he's about 16. The game is completely funny and the characters are funny as ever, and the series went from rated E, to Rated T, so you have to agree that the series just became more "serious". Daxter is pretty funny in the cut scenes like before. This, in my opinion, including R&C, are the best video games on the PS2. Even better than GTA, and if that isn't enough Jak II even added a free roam. This series is a must buy.

Rated 7 out of 10 by Double Jump Evreythings good but the missions
This is just another game with amazing graphics and a good storyline but the missions get old so quick. For example,If you are not very good at fighting large amounts of metal heads at a time, than you would have to retry "protect Sid at pumping station" about 30 times.Games like this are suppose to be challenging, but not so challenging that it takes you 5 hours to complete one goal. I would only recommend this game to incredibly good gamers. Yet another problem is that when the game's day ends it turns to night, which is so dark that I have to stand up on a stool to see what is happening. There is another problem where if you are facing against 3 metal heads with almost no ammo for your shatter gun, you are almost like a frog in the middle of an active football field.Overall, this game is fun for a little bit, but when you get to harder missions like "protect sid at pumping station" it gets extremely boring. Do not, I repeat DO NOT buy this game if you are very busy and not a very good gamer.

this game is fun if you have played the first one and beat and saw the cover of this one you would not believe how different this one is from the first game. This game is kinda hard like the last level is and also when your at this place where rocks and dark eco are it does not even tell you what to do and you find your own way out. And when your in the city it helps you but when your at the mission place it takes it away for challenge reasons. Unlike most game who never give you one( Splinter Cell). The graphics are pretty good they very cartoonish. The game is long longer than the third one witch i recommend. The story is good it picks up from the first one witch i like unlike Cod 4. The controls are good and one of the best things is that in the first one they don't give you a gun witch i hate but they give you one in the second one. You get a machine gun a shot gun a rifle with a red dot site and a gun called the peace maker. I totally recommend this game it is fun and great
Rated 10 out of 10 by Tacosrawesome JAK IS BAK (only "K" in back to be like Jak)
Okay first of all JaD:TPL was amazing, and now JAK is older and in the future and stuff, in JAK II you will meet new characters, get a morph gun, kill metal heads, and turn into DARK JAK!! The funny thing about the game is, *SPOILER* you are in the future, but this future is JAK's past! And in JAK II, JAK will no longer be mute, he will talk, with his fist words being "I AM GONNA KILL PRAXIS". And the final boss (The leader of the metal heads) is one of your allies actually (I am not saying who, for i dont want to spoil that part!) But further in the game this "Ally" Becomes quit obvious to be the metal head leader further on in the game, and easier to tell if you have subtitles (The subtitles in one part say "Hmmph!" in a rude tone, after Daxter says "That one Metal head in the rift was uu-gly!" this "ally" in one part called metal heads awesome! and the final thing i will say is you will uncover some of Jax's amazig past!
Rated 10 out of 10 by tenpas28 One of the best games ever
This is one of the best games ever. The entire series is great but ether this or Jak3 is the best. For it's time, this has amazing graphics, has a one of a kind story line, and it sets you up with difficulty. this game is also good for starters, it has enough challenge were it's hard, but it's missions are short enough for you to try a few times you might get lucky and pass. and counting with the last thing I said, it also doesn’t what to make you quite, like with some games you get to a point were you don't know what to do, or it's just too hard, so you quit, this game isn't like that, if you try a few times, you can make out a strategy and get through it, because like I said, it's not that long, so you might die right before the end thinking it's a lot longer, but make a strategy and try again and you might win! This makes it easier for new players and challenging enough for pros. so trust me, you must get this game.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Donny of Das Another Great Jak Game
"Awesome." This game definetly is one the greatest games I have. You will definetly love it. It is probably the best in the series and comes with a lot of great features: 1. Excellent graphics that won't disappoint you. 2. An excellent storyline that will keep you awake. 3. Great weapons and vehicles to use. 4. There is a lot of action. 5. A big environment to free roam in. 6. A lot of missions. Some bad things about the game: 1. There is nothing to do after you beat the game except free roam which actually isn't that fun. 2. Jak and Daxter changed. If you liked Daxter as a little nice sidekick he isn't anymore. Jak is basically evil and isn't the shy person he once was. I liked the change though, but some fans of the first one might be disappointed. 3. Some of the missions are short and dull. After all of the bad things it actually is an excellent game." Everyone with a PS2 should own it."

Jak 2 is one of the greatest games ever to be on the PS2 and the best of the series. I have played the first Jak & Daxter game before Jak 2 and... it sucked! But Jak 2 has reinvented everything from graphics to dialogue to humour to weapons! (My favorite part). It's also like a Grand Theft Auto clone: you can steal hovercars, do missions for strange people in Haven City, run amuck, have coolweapons and shoot and kill the force. Honestly, this game has good graphics for a PS2 game and that because you have weapons, the game isn't that hard. Also, if you hit things with your ships, it catches on fire and blows up. This game and series is a lot better than Ratchet & Clank (except the first game). Dialogue also change, meaning that some characters swear in the game (not extreme swears). The city is a wide opened enviorement where just like Grand Theft Auto, anything can happen. I highly recommend you buy this game, even if you're unfamirar to the series. Once you start playing it and get weapons, you will be amazed at everything: graphics, dialogue, weapons, stealing hovercars and shooting!

WOW where to start on this game is beyond me. the game is a perfect 10. now it is vary difficult and causes frustration but the satisfication of completing this game is great. and their is a high replay value that just makes you want to play it over and over. i would know I've beaten it 8 times! the storyline is great and Jak's new dark powers are awsome and the addition of guns is sweet. and of course now jak can talk. and its about time right? and what perfect voice jak has. the character development is great and it seems every character has a purpose and importance to the story. and the characters (ex.Torn,Ashelin,Vin) have vary defined personality and suit's how their character looks. the controls are smooth and the length is 20 hours long. and lastly the voice acting. well it's terrific even the small part cameos. this game is something everyone should play
