Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
i have a lot of ideas
i have beat every single jak and daxter game made and i am so mad as are half my school that they have a different game developer!!! i have heard the storyline... well some of it it's about finding his lost family. that's all i know of the storyline. i think they should stay in the adventure genre i played and beat jak x and it was probably a 2 and a half star rating. as for jak and daxter: the precursor legacy, jak 2, and jak 3 a perfect 5 stars. im really hopin that i can give this one a 6 star rating!!!!!!!!!!!!! i also think they should start making 2 player jak and daxter games you know where you can be different characters on certain missions. light jak needs to be able to fly higher! i hope this one has something to do with a different eco jak gets to use.and a more romantic role with jak and keira. i also hope the make many more jak and daxter games after this one!!! oh yea and the orbs need to be worth more. oh yea and i AM the #1... i repeat #1 jak and daxter fan!!!!!
The Lost Frontier...
I found the new Jak and Daxter to be a fun game, but it just wasnt long enough for me. I beat it in only six to seven hours and as a fan of all the previous games, I was hoping this one would top all of the others. My favorate of the Jak and Daxter games is still the first one. I would still recomend fans of the series to play it but dont have too high of expectations for it. The graphics were pretty good for a PS2 game. The planes were also fun to fly and customize. Playing Dark Daxter was pretty cool too, I like how both characters have been affected with Dark Eco now. I was hoping for more territories to explore also, it wouldve been nice to have been able to see more creative areas. You go to most of them more than once and I believe there are only five total. On the first you explore all kinds of different areas. Overall, I still liked the game and have already beaten it twice since I bought it.
Sadly Sold to HIG
I am a die-hard fan of the Jak and Daxter series and have always anticipated new arrivals. When I heard a flying theme was to be used I was ecstatic...at least, until I discovered that Naughty Dog sold J&D to High Impact Games. Many things changed... Jak is chubbier, has a more cheerful voice, and looks like he had plastic surgery. Keira too, looks as if she has had plastic surgery. To my relief, though, Daxter remains the same. ---Jak X Spoiler--- As a sequel to Jak X: Combat Racing, I would think that past characters would be included. When you beat Jak X, Rayn is revealed to be a double-agent. She manages to drive away and the scene adds a large amount of foreshadowing. The only characters from the past are Jak, Daxter, and Keira. Some people, such as myself, will expect the game to be quite long and challenging. It's not. The game would be better played 1-2 missions per day rather than 3-5. Do not rush through this game. One thing I found interesting is the new Hero Mode where you restart the game with all Eco Powers, guns, etc. I found this extremely helpful for collecting Precursor Orbs. In conclusion, this game will be different in comparison to previous J&D games but it is a good flight combat game as a follow-up of the combat racing game.
Not the real Jak and Daxter.
Sadly, Naughty Dog has sold the franchise meaning new voice actors, different looks, and an unrecognizable continuation. Jak and Keira are redone with a new face. Jak has a soft, friendly face. And previous characters are no where to be found. For example, all clues leading up to a new game are ignored as if Jak X: Combat Racing never existed. Samos is also never mentioned. I find this game as an insult to the previous trilogy known as Jak and Dexter.
A disgrace to the Jak Franchise
I ecspected this game to be way better! I love Jak games! In fact Jak is my 4th favorite game behind KH,Uncharted, and C of D. The graphics are not good. Most of the game is in some not cool looking air plane. The weapons are a Epic Failure! There is no Peace Maker! Instead there this dumb gun called the Lobber Gun. And most of the game takes place in a pirate based community. Theres no Jak Board, No Dark Jak, no Light Jak, no vechiles, and most importantly no Ashelin. I have this game for both PS2 & PSP and it litterally stinks. do not get this game. it's nothing llike all the other classic Jak games. This is a half finished game because 50 % of it is the storyline, and the other 50 % is beating the game with all the weapons and abilities.
When ever i heard that a new jak and daxter game was coming out I was so freaking happy because I thought they did an awsome job with the first 5 games. But i was sadly dissapointed with the game. I would probably recomend the game for kids for the age of 7 but anyone older than that would probably bore their minds if they played it. I was also sad that they took out the guns and added some weird staff that shot eco, and i was also sad that they took out the language because now the game reminds me that disney made it. And above all they didnt really follow the original story line, but instead they made a story about some weird sky pirate that you could probably find in the book treasure island. SO FOR ANYONE WHO READS THIS, DONT BUY THIS GAME YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY.
When I first heard this game was coming out I was super excited and couldnt wait, that is until I found out NaughtyDog was not creating it. Now i'm not saying i'm not excited i just am questioning how well Sony can make a jak game. I have beaten all the past 4 games and they by far are the best games I have ever played for the PS2. When I watched the trailer, two things I noticed right away was that the voices are diffrent. For some people that isnt a big deal but I like to have the same voices because it makes me feel the same connections to the characters as in the past games and I didnt see how this games plot relates to the past games. The good things I noticed was that the Sky Pirates seem awsome and the new weapon looks cool. The main thing I am trying to say is that I expect big things from Sony and hopefuly they will make as good of a Jak game as they can without NaughtyDog.
Review Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier
So many people have asked me if this game was coming out or if it is just a rumor. As seeing in many popular sites, thousands of people may be finally getting their early Thanksgiving threat. Now that it is coming out I hope the lost frontier is more awesome than all other Jaks. So far, Jak & Daxter, Jak II, Jak 3 and Jak X have been great. One of the main reasons are that people enjoyed having the freedom to explore the world with ease. Of course, the story is another plus from them. People still want to know if Jak is the legendary Mar. I am sure a good number of people will buy it just for that. Overall, I hope this game pushes the limits beyond what all other Jaks did. Seeing it is not for the PS2, I don't necessarily expect better graphics. But in any case, Jak has been one of my favorite games in the PS2 and I look forward to play it this upcoming November.
Ok so i love all the jak and daxter games. I've played and loved every last one of them. Until now that is. Let me first start by saying how terrible the graphics are. I'm guessing this was made for the PSP and ported to the PS2 because the graphics are beyond bad. I've played this game for a couple hours and i have no desire to ever play it again. The camera angles are painful and have caused me to die several times in just the first few missions. Often times you can't even see your objective or platform that you need to jump too. and *spoiler alter* daxter gets turned into a huge monster then turns back into his normal form and no one notices or says anything. such a bad plot. the controls felt awkward and often times distracting. Do not buy this for PS2. I wouldn't even recommend it for the PSP.
Jak and daxter the lost frontier
The Jak and daxter franchise is my favorite videogame of all time. My favorite is the third. As far as expectations go, this game serpassed mine. It was better than i expected, however, it didn't exacly meet the standards the previous series gave. The graphics were confusing, i couldn't tell if they were good or not. They made Kira look like an asian lady. And i don't know if they went back in time or something, but I think Jak got alot younger (seeing as he lost his gotee). The storyline wasn't as good as the second, or even close to the third, but did catch me of gard at the end when you fight the boss. The Game is so short, My final time was foure hours. However, The ship levels were super fun. I expected them to be hell, but the controlls are smooth, and awesom. At first, I was bummed that there wasn't a dark Jak, But high impact games made a great substitution with the ability to buy eco powers with collected dark eco. All though dark Jak is an iconic face of this franchise, you soon forget about him when you get cool powers, like the ability to find every precursour orb with a blue light that shows you where they are (which you have to buy), To replace dark jak, i guess they decided to make a dark daxter. Well that. Playing as Drak Daxter is absolute hell, and i offten found myself throwing the controller in anger at him. First, Theres only three levels with him in it, and his powers suck! The coolest thing he can do is wirl around in a tornado like the tazmanian devil from loonytoons, and that doesn't even hurt enemies. But my biggest disopiontment about Dark Daxter, is that you cant change into him whenever you want to like you could with dark Jak. The best part of the Daxter levels was the end when you are in an elevator that you can completely demolish and get precursour orbs from. In my opinion, the greatest disopiontment to this game was the los of light jak. And the guns, Didn't exactly get it. They had all the treditional weapons like the scater gun and the vulcan fury. But if your going to pick up from a game like Jak 3, you'll need some pretty B.A weapons. All and all, I like this game and do recomend it, just don't expect it to be as good as the previous ones. I really like this game and am looking forward to the sequal.
