by Celski I've played it at least three times
I am a fan of the haunted mansion movie, ride, and now the game. It has a plot that keeps you hooked and the mechanics are fairly simple. There is a perfect amount of atmosphere and spooks for those that need their fill of simple horror. There are plenty of characters throughout the game and the mansion is huge. Although some of the puzzles can be time consuming or frustrating, they are somewhat addicting. When I first purchased the game I was younger and I couldn't finish the game because the lady in the kitchen was a bit too scary at that age. Well looking back on it, the game was not very scary but as a child it had my adrenaline pumping.

I got "The Haunted Mansion" Years ago for Christmas. I played. At first (I was young), it freaked me out. There is this dude with a hood. Ok, Back to the game. This is game is entertaining and has a strong challenge. Many Puzzles and it is pretty suspensful. Also, some things will give you the big creeps, like: Spiders - Ghosts - Hood Dude - Zombie Arms! Yes, the esrb rating is correct. This is for players who dont get freaked out easily. It does have zombies, tiny winy bit of blood, scary images and noises, and disturbing images, which makes it awesome! So, if you are wondering if you should get it or not (WHOA!), then get it. It has a big challenge through the game, and very long, suspensful, and: Its Fun! So, yeah, go ahead and buy it or rent it, if you like! I give it: 4/5

This game was a good game to play with my son who's five. It has the horror factor from the house being haunted, but it isn't too scary for younger kids. The only flaw I had was that the descriptions of the commands and some of the things you needed to do were a little unnecessary at parts, and at others they were too limited, making it hard to understand what to do at that part. The storyline was actually better than I expected, since it gave more detail into the house and what happened there. You have to solve a lot of puzzles in the game though, so be prepared for it. Overall I would rate this game a 7/10 for its good structure and ability to be turned into a family game. I had a lot of fun playing this with my little boy and I know others will probably enjoy it too.
