Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's - Used
Better then i thought.
I went to gamestop looking for guitar hero: smash hits, but it wasn't their so i decided to get this. I didn't know half of these songs, but i still played it. yah, theres some really anoying songs on here, but i discovered some new good songs. It's in the same format as guitar hero 2 but not entirly the same. there are only 6 characters from guitar hero 2 and their in 80's outfits like: Axels wearing a purple jacket and Napolen has his hair down, stuff like that. Every thing else (except for songs) is the same as guitar hero 2. And it comes with a guitar hero 2 Encore poster in the case.
Pretty Great Game
When i first got this game, i was expecting it to be an old fashioned guitar hero game like Aerosmith which i got for my birthday the year before. Rock the eightys was pretty cool with the songs. I haven't played this game in a while so i don't remember much. But if you want a good $6 game, this is definetly the one to get.
This game had great songs and is perfect for any gamer. I think its more fun playing with a ps2 controller than a guitar with this game.
good game but felt like an add-on to guitar hero 2
the game just felt like an add-on to guitar hero 2. The only thing that set it apart was that the graphics were slightly altered and they had different songs. I mean they couldn't even have 40 songs on the game? aside from all that the game was ok good at the most
Guitar Hero Rock's the 80's
Ok.This game was very interesting. I would have never guessed that they would have chosen those songs, I mean I was expecting some Deep Purple, or Peter Frampton, or even add some 70's music, like LYNYRD SKYNYRD (greatest band of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) But if you're looking for a simple guiar hero, this is the one to buy. Have fun!
Rocks The 80's
Let me start out by saying that, instead of being a full on sequel, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's is more of an expansion pack to Guitar Hero II, therefore it lags behind in some areas. One of those areas is the ammount of songs. Where GH2 has over 50 songs, Encore only has about 20. The second area is characters. Although it's cool to see them in 80's outfits, there are only six characters in the game without any alternate costumes. The third and final area is the stages. Here it changes stages from GH2 and makes them look more retro, but cuts out at least one of them. Aside from all those things this game has all the guitars, guitar skins and game modes from GH2, backed up by some of the best songs from the 80's like I Wanna Rock, Turning Japanese, and Play With Me. Keep in mind this was basically released as an appitizer for a main course of GH3 or Rock Band.
