The title
A "grimoire" is a book of magic spells. "Grim" can mean serious, dangerous, or scary. So the title would mean something like "scary book of spells" or "book of dangerous spells". As someone else said, it's a real-time strategy game in a very similar setting to Harry Potter. It has a 5 day repeating cycle that sounds a lot like the 5 stories in Odin Sphere (created by the same people). I expect it will have a lot of the same qualities as Odin Sphere for good or bad: beautiful, fun, challenging, simple, repetitive.

Opinions, too many people have them
Number one, someone claims the title is misleading. Ok grim would refer to the reaper, not zombies, and grimorie is a castle, which also appears in atelier iris 3. Number two, don't tell someone a game you haven't even played is a bad buy, that is horribly ignorant. The hand drawn pieces are beautiful and several magazines and websites have made mention, you know, people who get PAID to write reviews. Third, Nippon ichi does not cater to the majority in america, so if you aren't part of the cult following of NIS games, don't comment on them. When you own them all you're opinion may matter.

A 2d RTS on PS2
Nippon Ichi is back, with intense 2d sprites and innovative RTS gameplay on the PS2. The locale can be compared to Harry Potter, it takes place in a school for magical children. You will manage resources to generate and fight with magical minions of your own creation, in real time strategy fashion. While EA tries to pat itself on the back for creating a manageable RTS control scheme on the 360, Nippon ichi has created a much more streamlined control set for a 2d RPG on the dual shock. It even allows you to pause gameplay and give orders while the game stops moving rather than overwhelm the user who is not using a a mouse. Fans of RTS games (starcraft, commans & conquer, etc), and fans of anime style 2d graphics will find a lot to love, and loads of gameply for the low price.

Not a good buy.
When I first saw this, I was like cool a magic game. But when I looked more into it, the game play looks awful. The 2D game play just throws things off. The art looks amazing, though in the cutscenes. Odin Sphere looks so much better than this. I would not recommend this if you're not really into 2D games.

Sounds like lost kingdoms
This game sounds a lot like the Lost Kingdoms games, though your character won't fight at all according to the info. I don't see how the title could throw you off though, a grimoire is a term for a spellbook, it has nothing ot do with zombies.

the title throws u off
the title threw me off at first i thought that this game was a zombie game but after seeing the reviews i saw it was a whole difrent thing i have no idea on the gameplay and the other features of this game it sounds cool though i hope it is
