If you're looking for a good ps3 game, then this game is a must buy. This game features 2 disk making it a very long game and awsome story line that will never bore you.
Amazing game, promise.
I want to start this review by saying that the hardcore RPG fans of this era that were disappointed by this game were probably comparing it to Grandia 1 and 2. This game took a huge step up from its prequels and I think it would have had GREAT ratings and reviews if it were not called "Grandia." Fans of particular series make it hard for prequels to do anything new at all. Anyway, that aside, this games stories is one of my favorites that I can recall from the PS2. I love the characters, particularly the main character and his fascinations. The music in this game is an 11/10. Just fantastic. I recently replayed this game and did not find myself getting bored even though I knew everything that was going to happen- so replay value is pretty high if you enjoyed the game. To avoid making this review too long, I will end this by saying- GIVE IT A TRY! I did and do not regret it. Also, do not play with TOO MUCH bias from prequels (this should go with any sequel).
Grandia 3 Is Pretty Good
This game doesn't beat its predecessors, but it is definitely a pretty good game. I enjoyed this game mostly because of the storyline and everything behind it. The combat is pretty fun as well. You can order your party around during the battles to attack any foes within the battleground. It's fun to level up your character. As you progress in the storyline, you fight numerous enemies and you get MANY items/weapons in the process. The plot is pretty good. It's not the best, but it's pretty good. The sounds and effects in this game sound amazing. The graphics aren't amazing compared to other current games, but it's really fun to play if you like RPG's. The controls are easy to get used to and are definitely user-friendly. Bosses and some battles can be a real challenge sometimes. I got annoyed at how some battles were annoying, but it's very fun to ALWAYS fight EVERYTHING. (A tip to easily beat this game) I recommend exploring EVERYTHING before progressing on to a new area in this game. It really helps. Overall, this game is pretty good and is worth buying.
Grandia 3, one way to ruin a once great franchise.
Grandia 3 has pretty graphics and ok characters with a somewhat cliche story and that's saying too many good things about a game I returned 2 days after buying it. Grandia 3 just left an ugly taste in my mouth after the first 10 hours and I got sick of forcing myself to continue the game that I ended up just giving up on it. I have played Grandia and Grandia 2 before (Grandia 1 being one of my favorite games of all time) and those two games are by far much better than Grandia 3 could ever be or pretends to be. Grandia 3 just can not live up to my opinion on what a Grandia game should be and really it is plain to see why that after Grandia 3 there has not been another Grandia game since....I wouldn't be surprised if Grandia 3 was the last nail in the coffin.
But hm I know that some people out there are hardcore Grandia fans or harcdore rpg fans and will be able to look past the terrible battle system and terribly boring story in Grandia 3 and will enjoy the game, to those people I bow my head and give praise. Congratulations!
