Rated 10 out of 10 by Timshadow An AMAZING Rpg/Adventure
Grandia 2 is an amazing game. Sure, the graphics aren't that great compared to so many other games currently, but who can say the storyline sucks? The beginning is humorous and consists of small things to do, but later the plot twists so many times that you will be addicted to the game as soon as you've played it for at least an hour. I've beaten the game over 5 times and I still play it every now and then. I just think the storyline is absolutely terrific. The interface is cool too seeing as you can upgrade and buy new spells you can use against other foes. Some battles and bosses in this game are annoying, but the game does not have a persistent flow. You do different things throughout the game. If you play the game nonstop, you probably won't even beat it for a week. It's really long compared to most RPG's these days. It's definitely kid-friendly; the only thing bad is just Ryudo's sense of humor. (You'll see what I mean if you play the game) Overall, this game is absolutely terrific from my gamer perspective.

Grandia 2 at the beginning seems kind of lacking what a true adventure requires. However, while going through the game you are swept up with so much action, quests and a great storyline. This game has a cast of great characters. Leveling up in this game is quite fun, the fighting mechanics are spectacular. In the battle phase, your party characters run around while the player orders the commands. In a sense the cast is not simply standing in one place and only makes a move when the player orders it. This great and unique way of the fighting phase adds a great spice to the action. Music and sounds is definitely not lacking in this great adventure, it sets the right mood. The storyline is great and mysterious, it takes the player through a fantasy world filled with everything an RPG should have. The story is great and filled with adventure. If you give this game a chance, it will not let you down.
Rated 10 out of 10 by NurseGuyBri Incredible game with a good mix of it all
I had a sort of mini "depression" back in 2002. During this time I was without a job- had a Sega Dreamcast and bought Grandia. I played EVERY DAY about 16 hrs a day. I have never and am not an avid gamer. The story pulled me in, I felt like I was there with Ryudo and his cast. The game was amazing. Needless to say, the game is gone and the dreamcast is dead. I have been searching so long, and I finally started to get back into gaming. I've ordered Grandia 2 for my PS2 (wish it was PSP or xbox, of course), and hope it is the same play. I kid you not, this game was the most amazing game I've ever played.
Rated 1 out of 10 by Argonloris Worst game I have ever played
This game lacks any orginal content or concepts. Almost every idea is a rehash from some earlier game and many aren't even implemented that well. If you have played any role-playing games before this one, you will see every plot twist before it happens. The combat system during battle feels clunky and the lack of character depth makes the story forgetable at best. I feel that this is honestly one of the few games that I never wish I took the time to beat.
Rated 8 out of 10 by RockinGamer Good, funny game
A friend let me borrow this game, and i have to say i was pleased. The main character, Ryudo, is everything an optomistic, happy-go-lucky protagionist isnt. He is cynical, pessimistic, and downright crude sometimes, but hilarious! Elena is rather whiney in my opinion but Mellinnia makes up for that. The battle system is fun to use, and easy to master. It doesn't have any replay appeal to me, as there aren't multiple endings. All in all it is a good game.

one of the most overlooked games on the PS2 in the RPG Genre. Very Fun Game. the only downfall of this game is the music can get a little annoying as it gets very loud and there is certain songs that are annoying. Other then that this game is great one of the best RPG's around.
