Dynasty Warriors 6
AWESOME GAME!!!!!! BUY IT!
my tgoughts of this game are that it is an amazing game! i loved the graphics the mousu storylines, and the new renbu system! i liked the renbu better than the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th weapons. because you dont have to do certain almost imposible mission to get your fifth or fourth weapon. also, i liked the fact that you can climb ladders, i can not begin to tell you how anoying archers in towers were. i do in fact miss the bow that each general carried. but it still is not used very much anyways. i kind of missed the flute that zhen ji had,the maze that diao chan had, and the chakrams that sun xiang shang had. but ssx had a good weapon in return. but i loved zhou Yu's new staff! my favorite!!! i do like how they stay with the same base for the storyline since this game is featuring real wars of ancient china. i wish they would have kept the swimming feature in the ps2 version like in the ps3. that was the only downside to this game for me. but over all, i think this was a great game!
I was a huge Dynasty warriors fan. I had started out on Dynasty Warriors 2, and went from there. The major issue I have with Dynasty Warriors 6 is the controls. While they do slightly work alongside the game, it was too sudden a change from Dynasty Warriors 5. The graphics were good, and the amount of game-play was great, although quite repetitive, though Dynasty Warriors fans are definitely those who understand repetitive game-play. I really did enjoy the sound in this game. The voices in the game were the typical cheezy one-liners, but you can't expect too much in the way of voice acting for Dynasty Warriors. For people that are new to the Dynasty Warriors series, I would definitely suggest this game. It would be a lot of fun for your first time playing a Dynasty Warriors game. But for those who have played the previous installments, I would not suggest this however, unless you are willing to start over with an entirely different style of combat.
Dynasty Warriors 6 Great Game!!!!
The game for the most part was just like previous titles it feels like not much has change. The stories still the same kind of thing. The characters has changed (not that its a bad thing) the disappointing thing I had with this game was they changed all the weapons for Ex. Xaihou Dun had a schimitar now he has a weird staff. Sometimes the camera angles get waaaay to close but thats not a huge thing though. The good things are you can swim, climb ladders, and more. The combat system has a couple miner changes, new attacks. The stories are a little bit better than DW5 but just a little. Sometimes the game feels too easy like in previous titles the game doesn't give you that hard of a challange. All in all I think its a great game but sadly its not its best. If you really enjoy these kind of games I reconmend this game on the Ps3 system.
Buy this game
All right the reason you should buy this game is because... well it doesn't matter if the game has good graphics (it would if it was a good game which it is of course). The game has a few new features like when u kill someone they don't disappear or they stay longer than usual and u can swim in water climb up towers , etc. So if you really, really want a strategy game I would prefer if you would get this game. I would say that it would be the number one game in the world next to Call of Duty World at War Final Fronts. And there are a few glitches in the game too you can walk strait through the enemy and they wont notice u, you can be invisible by killing 1,000,000 in all not in one mission cause that would be impossible u know what I'm saying.
Good but not great.
I love the Dynasy Warriors series and have played every one besides the empires games which bore the crap out of me. The fighting style is fun as with all the others and the graphics are really good as usual. I love the co-op play when you have a friend over that doesnt have the system. That is my favorite part of these games it maks it alot more fun when you can sit back and hack and slash next to someone. The cons of this game are few but major. They added a nice group of characters to this game but have given them story lines that suck and have very repetative battles that are the same with each character. They weapon system is interesting but boring cause there are no secret weapons you can unlock. Getting characters unlocked is problably the most exciting thing in the game. I think they need to go back to giving you bodyguards and bring meng ho back and add some more battles to each character.
I had it some time ago and loved it, but you need a fat PS2 which i didnt have, I used my friend's ps2. But now i do so...... i really want it again!! I would recommend this game to anyone! This is a must have if you've played any of the DW games! 100/10! BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED!!!!!!!!
NOT AS BAD AS EVERYONE SAYS
It is more historically accurate this time around which made the storyline twice as enjoyable. Most of the characters look just like they did in the show. I happen to love the new RENBU and the new weapons. They stepped up the graphics and made mostly everything to look very detailed. I know this is a nerdy thing to say but event the encyclopedia is even better. Challenge mode is pretty gay, you might want to stay away from it lol. The only horrible thing about this game is the fact that half of the characters DO NOT have a story line. HOW THE HECK CAN YOU NOT GIVE SUN CE HIS OWN STORY!!!!!!!!! Plus they cut out about 7 people(Including Xing Cai daughter of Zhang Fei) with out replacing them with new characters. All and all good game, more fun if you watch Romance of the Three Kingdoms then play.
Don't bother... well not quite.
Having already played a previous Dynasty Warriors game which I purchased in 2006, I was rather excited for this one. Well, first of all, if you already have a Dynasty Warriors game particularly the predecessor, Dynasty Warriors 5, I suggest you don't bother buying this game as nothing much has changed. Actually, I would rather much prefer the fifth installment since it had much easier controls. The improvements in the latest version are unnecessary. It would have been wiser to invest in better graphics, especially when "tearing down doors" or other breakable objects, which I must say are ridiculous. Other than that, if you don't have a Dynasty Warriors game yet, I highly suggest getting this (or the preceding one) since it's a very fun game to play. The scenarios and targets are challenging even on easy mode.
I played the very first Dynasty warrior game like 7-8 years ago and i fell in love with the game. Then after missing all series 2-4 i finally got my hands on DW5 and i was so excited about DW6 coming out. Boy was i disappointed. Instead of making the game better they took out all of the decent things from DW5 and all you have to do is keep pressing square and once in a while circle button. There is nothing strategic about this game. I thought that for DW6 they would expand the country, make it more interesting, make your brain ponder more or something, but no this game is the same as DW5 but worse. As you can no longer create your own character and as i said they eliminated the only strategic aspect of the game. If you like games that you do not have to use your brain at all and just want to keep pressing one button then go ahead and buy this game. For me if DW7 ever comes out i will wait for the reviews of other people and rent it or try it at my friend's before i rush to buy this game again. At the rate that they are going on improvements it looks like DW104 might be a real hit. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
Rent it first
Surprisingly this is not a bad DW game. It's a good beat em up type of game. Usually, a DW game lacks the true essence of a "real" old empire war. Not so much this time. The character motions are a big highlight in this version too. They seem almost real. Koei decided to bring back the dueling feature from DW4, but this time, it's been upgraded. Instead of a one-on-one fight with a general that randomly pops out of the blue, you get a crowd of lesser warriors, or peons if you may. The opposing general comes from the crowd instead from a random gateway. As most DW games, the storyline is that tough too beat (unless your on master). The scenarios, stages, generals, blah blah, aren't too big of a threat in this game. I practically got through about 80% of the game playing for 3 hours. If you like these kind of games, you should get it, but rent it first.
