The Ultimate City Based Game
It is the ultimate game if you like city based games very similar to GTA but I personally think it's better. The game is best on take a ride mode, in Undercover mode you're an undercover cop and the missions are pretty fun but difficult. The Graphics are ok when it comes to the people in the game but they are better than Driver Parallel Lines and are great when it comes to the cut scenes and the locations are really accurate. The cars aren't modeled after real cars but you can tell what they closely resemble if you're a car person. Overall this is an great game if you like to explore cities, that's what I love about it.
This was one of my favorite PS2 games. I hope they convert this to digital for PS3 'cause my PS3 doesn't play PS2 games. Anyway, the graphics were amazing for a game of that year. The story is very long and interesting. The Free Roam (drive around and do whatever you want) is awesome. I say better than GTA free roam because you can turn off cops and enable cheats so you don't have to worry about causing an uproar when you run over people or something. You can also walk around and do things too. I love how there's many different types of vehicles and how the maps are HUGE and very detailed. I highly recommend this game.
to many glithes
The only fun thing about driv3r is the glites its fun to mess around with them.put on all the cheats than the game is100,000,000x funner.

Disappointing Compared To The PS1 Versions
Driver was a breath of fresh air when it was released on PS1 scoring rave reviews and becoming a bestseller. Driver 2 was just as successful. I would like to say Driver 3 (or driv3r) was the same as well, but it became known as a very sloppy clone of GTA and that even die-hard Driver fans should avoid this game. I disagree. This game is surprisingly good.
Game play- Driver 3, which once again puts you in the shoes of an undercover FBI agent with a lead foot named Tanner. This time around, Tanner is trying to infiltrate a Miami-based car theft ring, which is working to steal 40 exotic cars and ship them out of Miami. Part of the game's story involves finding out who amongst the thieves in the car ring are working for, where the cars are going, and who's double-crossing whom. You'll start out in Miami, eventually make your way to Nice for some French car chases, and you'll also spend some time in Istanbul. On foot the controls are a little sloppy, the target indicator mostly slipping away from your target is a prime example. The weapons are also way too similar (except the grenade launcher) to GTA. When driving however the controls are good. The skidding around corners gives a feel of going at high speed (even though you can see your traveling slower than an old man and his pet tortoise) and traveling around a city on a motorbike is great fun too. The missions are way too easy and there are way too many car chases and not enough exploration of the cities you are in.
Graphics- they are probably the worst part of the game, but their okay in my opinion they’re a little better than Vice City graphics. Occasionally you do go through things though. The story is mostly told via pre-rendered cut scenes that fall somewhere between a music video and a movie in terms of style and inspiration. Generally speaking, the cut scenes look pretty good. In fact, the cut scenes are probably the best part about Driver 3.
Sound- to tell you the truth I don't remember the music much, but from what I do remember the music was pretty good just not as good as GTA. Additionally, the game's voice work is quite stiff. Michael Madsen voices Tanner, and while his gruff, gravelly voice fits the character, the delivery is a little too flat and uninterested. Similar criticisms can be said about most of the voice cast, including Michelle Rodriguez, whose performance, as Calita is phoned-in and wooden. Other voices on the cast include Mickey Rourke, Iggy Pop, and Ving Rhames, who portrays your partner in the game and narrates most of the cut scenes.
Unfortunately, a bevy of technical problems make portions of the game feel sloppy and unfinished, such that even diehard fans of the series will have a hard time liking Driver 3.
