Rated 9 out of 10 by silentninja720 Great Fighting Game!
Dragonball Z's Budokia 2 graphics are not bad at all. They are not made to look realistic though. If you are planning on buying this game, expect cartoonish graphics. If you are new to fighting games this game may be a little challenging. It's not hard to learn the controls though. This game can be very addicting! I love to earn money in the world tournament and spend it on new capsules. There are so many different fighting moves and characters! The story mode is kind of short, but it's still very fun. The first time you do the story mode you may not unlock all the items or characters you were supposed to, but it's still fun to go back and try to get everything a second time around. There is also dueling mode so you can fight with your friends and a training mode so you can master the controls. Overall, if you're looking for a good cheap fighting game to have fun with your friends, then i would definitely recommend this for you!
Rated 7 out of 10 by cheeko22222 Okay game for a sequel
Let me start off by saying that when I was around 9 or 10 years old that I had all 3 normal Budokai games. Each Budokai did get better, but they did always have their negatives. Here are the positives to this game: Great graphics, good story mode, solid gameplay, always had different outcomes while playing the story mode, and did I also forget to mention that this was the very first Dragon Ball Z game to have fusions in it, not all of them but the first fusions. Here are the negatives to this game: Story mode isn't really a story mode, just a board game, Only stops the story mode after Kid Buu is killed; not enough fusions; and it didn't take very long to unlock everything (hint: There was always a cheating way to unlock everything, but I forget what it was because it has been so long since I have played this game). Overall, this game does deserve a 7 out of 10 because the negatives even it out yet there are more positives in this game.
Rated 8 out of 10 by atlas_21 Really Good DBZ Classic
Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2 is probably one of the better DBZ games in the series IMO. This game gives you a good balance of characters about 20-30. Many of the have alternate costumes and most of the moves in the game are the same from the show. The Dragon World story mode was an intersting mode that set you in sort of a board game style platform where you take control of Goku and other characters and try to Defeat the enemy or accomplish the pre-indicated goal. Dragon World was ok but i thought it could have been better had it followed the real DBZ story better instead of making up some new stuff, but it wasn't too bad. The hardest challenge in Dragon World is either trying to get the dragonball's or the final battle against Kid Buu, which may be one of the hardest boss fights in a fighting game. The game does have a dueling mode and a world tournament mode which can both be played with friends. If you are fairly new to DBZ the game also has a training guide for you that clearly explains the basic aspects of how to play the game. If you are a true DBZ fan or just want to pick up a really good fighting game, i recommend this title.
Rated 10 out of 10 by JMM Very fun. but kid buu is so hard to kill!!!
This game is very fun. much better than the first, and we can get stuff in here if we had it from the first. all the people are easy to kill, or at least chalenging to kill. but i could kill everyoe without me loosing once. that is until i reached Kid Buu. Kid Buu is so hard to beat. it takes 2 of my lives to get him to lose 1 life. he hits you when your on the gorund, does combos that take like 1 bar of your hp. and always blocks everything. so we are either being pummeled by kid buu, or having most our attacks blocked. and right when we try to hit him the attack from L1 and R1 he attacks us. so we can barely break his guard. If we manage to get an attack through, he will just attack us right away again. This game is still very fun, but it may take me a few tries to kill Kid Buu.
Rated 10 out of 10 by gghoewie MUST HAVE
You have to buy this game if you have a ps2 or ps3. It is so fun. The special moves are so cool, and the characters are very even, and the only ones that punch quicker a Uub and kid buu, The story is really good and it is really fun to play your friends. It is a pretty big challenge in the campaign depending on how good you are. Graphics are pretty good. There is a lot of special moves and they are so cool. There are a lot of things to unlock, and a lot of things to do. It never gets boring. Really fun to play a lot. The sound is good and the music is good if you like rock. I love to try out new big a attacks like Vegata's big bang attack it is so big it takes out one and a half bars of health. I don't see why there is anything wrong with this game it's perfect!!!
Rated 10 out of 10 by dorkyness619 The best of the budokais
This is the best of the budokai series because its got a perfect amount of characters and the controls are clean and simple unlike that of 3.I found it quite difficult however to beat kid buu in the last fight. After a few years i unlocked all capsules and came across two interesting fusion. Tien + Yamcha = Tiencha, a strange looking fellow with the coolest moves. Then theres...Gokule. Its a fusion of Goku and hercule. I dont want to talk about it. The moves are actually easy to pull off and the controls are smooth as a babys bottom. no homo. Its a very vibrant and colorful game that anyone can get good at. If you would get any other budokai games, drop the tenkaichi series because they are not real fighting games, get budokai 1. Its probably the 2nd best. Go get it.
Rated 10 out of 10 by TienchaFighter Best game I've ever played
Back when the PS2 first came out Budokai 2 was the first game I ever got for it and it's the game that made me fall in love with video games. At the time it was such a wonderful game with the combo system that let you lead into a super attack that'd devastate your opponent and the actual combos. Also the fact that it was possible to knock opponents into arena traps and into different parts of the stages made this game unique since the games that came after it didn't have such a system though I truly wish they did. Every time I play this game I get a feeling of nostalgia that is mind-blowing and I recommend this to everyone who will listen to me
Rated 6 out of 10 by DBZattic Well, It's good if you know DBZ
Okay. This game is pretty hard at times, and that's what makes it challenging. I mean, yeah, the story mode is a little off, but still. Don't let all the haters get you down on getting this game. It's pretty fun. It's got a good amount of characters. The graphics are ok, the sound is good, the move animations TOTALLY make up for the graphics. (I'm gonna reccomend DBZ games for this system! :D) But Infinite World is better. GET THIS AND INFINITE WORLD IF YOU ARE A TRUE FAN OF DBZ!

Remember back then when games were like this. These games were awesome with great characters and such. Love these games because i played them growing up and now i look back andd say "Best games ever." If any of you have kids who like DBZ games then show them these old ones and why they're worth cherishing for a lifetime.
Rated 9 out of 10 by JakeRocks100 Pretty Good Game
This is a board game and a fighting game. It lives up to the budokai series and has decent graphics. It isn't budokai 3 but I give it props. This is great for dbz fans and new comers. It has good game play and a great amount of characters. It is not expensive so you should get it and play two player I guarantee you will at least have some fun with it.
