I bought this game for my 3-year-old daughter, thinking "hooray, I finally get to put my PS2 to use again for the first time since getting married!" She didn't really have the thumb dexterity or timing down well enough to do more than watch. It's hard for her to connect the concept that what she does with her fingers controls the character on the screen. To be honest, her favorite part is at the very beginning -- dressing up the princesses (side-note: I found "Make Me A Princess" for my Android phone which is perfect for her), and she does that by pointing a laser pointer at the TV, then I make the selections for her.
She does enjoy watching the cinematic sequences, and watching me play, but clearly this is targeted at girls that are at least 6 years old. She'll grow into it.
