I have been a fan of the DMC series ever since the first, I have to say that they went downhill for a little bit with DMC2 but this game redeems it on so many levels. I love the gameplay and the styles you have access to. The option to play as Vergil is a great added bonus and he brings alot of awesome elements to the game. Some of the Styles in the game are really nice like Swordmaster and Gunslinger but I did find that one of them was just redundent. Royal Guard is one of the most useless styles in the game. You block attacks but you still take damage, It doesn't become really good until you level it up to level 3 and get Ultimate. The weapons in the game are pretty nice but it becomes even better after you get your Devil Trigger, Good thing with Vergil is that you get it at the beginning of the game so that is a nice little feature with him. But I do reccomend this game to anyone who wants to sit down and have some fun.
Rated 10 out of 10 by WolfX18 A Good Challenge for Any Real Gamers
This game isn't for the faint of heart. This game keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen next. Having beaten the game on just the Normal difficulty was a challenge, and I've played through the game once before. The game is surly a challenge if your looking for one, the game keeps getting really hard. The game hopefully doesn't leave you room for failure you need to be attentive. There's twenty levels in all and each one is a fun experience. This game is the first one in the correct order of the games, hence the games title Dante's Awakening. The correct order of the games is DMC 3, DMC 1, DMC 4, and lastly DMC 2. Play in that order and the story fits together, obviously 4 is on the 360. If you plan on buying this game be ready for a challenge people!!!! HAHA GOOD LUCK!!!!! (oh yeah be careful against your brother Vergil hes gonna be a tough one... Tips: Level all your styles up to 3. Level Ebony & Ivory to 3. Look for blue orb fragments. Get the Devil Trigger up as much as possible. Buy all the Blue Orbs from the shop, Purple Orbs, and some Gold Orbs just for safety. Until next time -- WolfX18

Devil May Cry 3 boasts in practically every aspect. The battle system is top-notch, and the story is interesting and fresh. However, the special edition of Devil May Cry 3 does not add much to what was already available. The most notable addition is Vergil as a playable character. He is lacking in available weapons, doesn't follow unique levels that compliment his story, and only has one fighting style. Aside from this, players will still enjoy playing as Vergil and seeing more of his story through cutscenes within the game. Other additional features such as Bloody Palace which is very challenging survival mode, pitting the player against constant waves of enemies, and the turbo speed option add a bit more replay value to the game. Overall Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition does a great job at being the equivalent of DLC for a PS2 title.

great story line great gameplay lots of power up and new weapons thats all u really need to have a great game the only problem was just not to long of a game other than that i would recommend this game not to mention the fighting styles they offer u like trickster or swordmaster and alot of others if u might have second thought about the game go rent it first and there is alot of fighting but u do have to run around alittle bit overall 10/10 great game there alot of bosses and ther are alot of levels and the good thing is u can replay any level after u beat them and there are some other cool modes like heaven or hell where everything is one hit death or bloody palace where u have to just kill as much enemies as u can this game is for anyone who likes adventure stratagy and action so go out and check this game out its pretty cheap to.

This game is by far one of may favorite of all time (I'm am disappointed with the reboot and don't like the fact the Ninja Theory has been insulting customers for not liking it) and I like it almost as much as the original, the game plays very well and at time I feel as if it play a lot faster than the original. I recommend getting the special edition over the original edition due to the fact that you are able to play as two characters Vergil, Dante's brother, through all of the same missions but with each character you have different approach when fighting enemies. I don't seem to get bored of the game at all in fact I like switching through all the difficulties just to give my self a nice challenge.

I got this game along with the 1st and 2nd DMC about four days ago. It is so danged cool! Hack and slash style action and a story line that will keep you from putting down the remote for hours. And, for an older game, the graphics are stunning.
Because of the Mature rating, this game isn't for everyone, but there is nothing overly inappropriate in this game, which I liked. I am certainly getting DMC 4 (and a PS3) and DMC 5 when it comes out.
Oh, and another thing, this game is different than the DMC 3; after you beat Dante's story, you get to play as his older twin brother Vergil. And, there is also an extra fighting mode, the Bloody Palace.

Devil May Cry 3. What an epic game. I cannot believe someone can create a game like this. Starting from the beginning, all the way to the end, you will be thrilled. The game starts out with a character named Dante. He in his office, and a man named Arkham comes in, and says "Your brother wants to see you". After he leaves, tons of demons come in and a cutscene shows Dante fight them. Later on you meet this brother named "Vergil". In this edition of the game, you can play as him once you beat Dante's story. The storyline is great, with many factors that make you want to keep playing, when you have to stop. The challenge is amazing. I died about 5 times on mission 3 only playing on normal this first time I played this game. This is one of the best looking games on the PS2, amazing graphics as well. The length, it could be a bit longer, but with the challenge, maybe 2-3 weeks to get through. The controls were great, they weren't loose but they weren't too tight either. The sound; I LOVED THE MUSIC. I listen to alot of metal and rock, so this game had AWESOME music. The sound affects were great too. The gameplay was fast paced action. The triangle for melee attacks, square for guns. Throughout the course of the game, you start with Rebellion (a sword), that has a purpose in the game. Everytime you beat new bosses, they change into weapons, most of the time. This is easily recomended for any PS2 owner.

when my cousin let me borrow this game I thought this could be fun. well it wasn't really fun. At the beginning all you do is fight demons and your weapons are weak I think a shot a demon 1,000 time with the pistol for it to die. And Dante is making the same noise when he slashes some one with his sword. He goes 'hu hu huw' with his sword every time I played till the second level then stopped. The good things are the new moves and the new weapons that's all. I would consider this a below a OK game.

Aside from God of War, this would be my second #1 game. It's ridiculously entertaining, challenging, and fun! To the Devil May Cry Fans-- 'you know you loved this'. It's interesting to see a younger Dante from the prequels. He's less serious, more fun, and cockier than he's ever been! So many hidden orbs all over the place-- and the sooner you find 'em, the more chance of you staying alive.. ..'less of course you're a hardcore gamer, then nevermind. ENJOY!!

I never even played a Devil May Cry game until February 2009. I just figured I would of never liked the series that much I guess. The first one was pretty cool and the second one was good but far from great. Now we have Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition and this game is a tremendous accomplishment in the series and for any game. I never really like video game stories that much, but however this one has a really good story and the cutscenes elevate the story ten fold. Graphically the game is a masterpiece on the PS2. Gameplay feels better than ever in the series. This game is excellent fun and thats the only way I can really explain it. DMC 3 has a lot to offer to anyone that is a fan of action games. As it is DMC 3 is about as perfect as a game can be. Once you start playing you can tell DMC 3 got the royal treatment when it was developed.Storyline - Probably one of the best I have seen in years.Graphics - Probably one of the top 5 games graphically on the PS2Gameplay- Near perfectSound - Excellent soundtrack and special effectsReplayability - As fun as DMC 3 is you can always go back and do mission selects and play in any order you want or replay the whole thing. The thing about DMC 3 that makes it stand out is the fact your going to want to replay it since its so well done. Bloody palace mode is fun as well. After you beat the game as Dante you can go through and play as Vergil and thats yet another way to make the longevity that much better.Verdict - simply a masterpiece and a must own.Score - 10 out of 10
