Dark Summit, in of itself, has got to be one of the worst games, I have ever had the displeasure of playing. Within, quite literally, the first three minutes of game play I realized how horrible of a mistake I had made in purchasing this product. The story, if you can actually call it that, is well really nonexistent. You are to perform "missions" to gain "lift points" to access the next level, and in doing so you gain new items, with enough points of course. Here now is another problem. There are four snowboards. Yes, four. Now within the four, your are supposed to see a dramatic difference in performance, which sadly, there is barely any. The graphics are pretty average considering the three consoles it was on. The controls...oh the horrid controls. Be prepared to throw your controller quite a lot because you might believe that it's the controller that's not responding. Wrong! The games interface doesn't allow for immediate connectivity to the buttons, or joystick. Two seconds or so is about the rough time I get before what I want to happen, to happen. Also, by the time it does register to the game, you've either over shot your trick, missed your next mission, or just happen to fall into some random abyss or pit of bubbling chemicals. You have on character to use, throughout the entire game. The others aren't attained until after you've beaten it, if of course you can even make yourself suffer that long. The game is relatively short, and honestly after your first level, you just want to snap the disc in half. As for difficulty, the only reason any of it is hard, is because your commands don't register quick enough, so you are forced to do the same thing, over and over again. Highly repetitive, not much changes between the levels. Never, under any circumstance, should you even look at this title. There are too many other games that deserve the attention!
