Rated 2 out of 10 by witch hunter just plain bad
This game, Constantine, is a bad game. It isn't terrible, it's just bad. first of all, the graphics are bad. The violence is not intense or realistic. You just fight aliens or some sort of creature. You would shoot them once or twice and when they die, they would turn into dust and dissapear. It was upsetting that this game isn't multiplayer. This game being third person didn't make things real hard but I wish that this game was first person. This game was pretty easy in the begining. The first part where you have to step into the water was kind of hard because you were in a dark room with a small puddle of water on the floor somewhere. It was also hard trying to figure out how to get to one closed area to another. This game needs improvements. However, if a new one comes out and looks really good, I would like to try it.
Rated 6 out of 10 by Darksaiyajin It's a movie licensed game....
Now I picked up Constantine due to having a weekend to blow off and the game was fairly cheap it seemed like a ok game and for the price it was a pretty good game however as I am sure other people know movie licensed games tend to be sub par and this game was no exception.
Graphics: For a Ps2 game made in 2005 its not that good while the cutscenes are done well the environments and characters have much to be desired a comparison between a game with a similar concept is Devil May Cry this game was made in 2001 and looks much better than Constantine. The game also suffers from the over use of shadow effects and dim lighting making it nearly impossible to see anything and forces you to use a game mechanic called true sight this basicly turns everything white letting you see but switches you to a bad first person mode were enemys vanish if they are to close to you this is worse than any other fault this game has. You are basicly playing blind or in a annoying white mode.
Sound: The sound is tolerable but a lot of the sounds are almost muffled or the gun shots as a example sound like a stock gunshot shown in a old spy movie and during the otherworld segments the background noises specificly the sound of the wind gets annoying and doesnt let you hear anything else except the wind.
Gameplay: Its fairly simple Gameplay wise you have a radical on the screen that you move with one of the analog sticks and when its green you can fire and be guaranteed a hit with your gun. The melee is done by smashing on the X button and has 2 animations and no variations and you will spend a lot of time in what I dubbed "White Mode" or as the game calls it true sight to solve puzzles and find extras its fairly simple nothing good about it but nothing so game breakingly bad that you wont find enjoyment out of it.
Baisicly if you are looking for a game to slaughter hordes of demons at a price below 5$ you may enjoy this game but Devil May Cry would be a better option and it is much cheaper but if you already have that game and want a game you may play through once and never touch again you may pick this up for a weekend.
