XBlaze Code: Embryo
A Worthy Visual Novel Entry
This is a visual novel, if you don't know what that is then back up a few steps and figure out if this is the kind of game you want to play. As far as visual novels go it has a decent story and I recommend this mostly because there are so few games like this imported to the United States. The biggest downside to this novel is that it doesn't let you take as much control over the game as you would like. There are not really any dialogue options in this game. Instead you read articles which isn't particularly exciting, compared to most visual novels. However, it is still a good game and a fun read.
Visual Novel with Good Story
First off there is no gameplay, this is a visual novel. Many people don't know what that means because they have yet to figure out "the google" or "the wikipedia". As far as visual novels go I found the story to be good (a bit weak at the conclusion, but that is to be expected with a prequel). My biggest issue was there were no dialogue options. Instead you navigated by reading articles that show up in your feed for an in game device. If you are like me and try to read everything you might be disappointed with the ending that you come up with. This also prevents me from choosing which heroine to pick for the ending. Knowing this I would recommend it to people who like visual novels and wish to see more on the PS Vita.
A great game, if you're intelligent.
Don't buy a visual novel if you don't want to read. Simple as that. I can't believe that people would complain about a good game because they didn't read the reviews or look up the game.
Everything misleads with this one
The Blazblue games have always had a decent mix of gameplay and visual novel. But Chrono Phantasma was pretty light on the gameplay which should've been a warning for this. I just started playing this and immediately realized that this was practically a pure visual novel. When you start the game, it doesn't take you to the main menu so you could do training like in Blazblue. The game just starts. Now, while I have no problem with visual novels and wish we could get more here in the U.S. especially the Fate series, I wish Aksys and Arc System had marketed this game for what it is. A book that you have to press "X" every three lines. Not a game with combat in it. This "game" is for hardcore fans of the Blazblue universe. This isn't a good intro for new players, players that actually want a game, or for anyone who doesn't want to waste money.
This is a visual novel.
This is a visual novel, something you read. If you were too stupid to realize that then you have no right to judge it. This game is set in the BlazBlue universe, it has a great story, sound track and visuals. Recommended for any fans of BlazBlue.
It is a good game for people who have played a lot of VN games. the gameplay is decided by reading articles on TOI, not by standard three line choice. Only minus i could find is it should have more cutscenes other than the opening, don't listen to the others if you are a VN fan and haven't even played BBlazeBlue it is a good game.
WARNING this is not a game
There is zero game play just 2 hrs of reading the end do not waste your money just watch it on you tube for free
