by forevercloud3000 Gravity Rush is the #1 Reason to get a Vita!
Many will be buying a Vita for game series that we have already become familiar with on PS3. When Uncharted Golden Abyss debuts with the Vita it will be many buyer's first game. Well don't ignore Gravity Rush, it looks and plays amazing and looks to captivate a new audience. If you wanted a new original IP for Vita, this is what you have been waiting for. Kat's crazy gravity bending abilities will have you flying/nose diving/falling/drop kicking your way into another world.
Rated 10 out of 10 by TangoDjango A Must Have for the Vita: innovative and charming
This is one of the best games for the Vita, the graphics are amazing (very impressive Japanese-style animation), the soundtrack is superb (very Studio Ghibli-esque), and the controls are pretty innovative and easy to use (touchscreen and motion sensor controls are very well integrated and don't feel tacked on at all). I was worried at first because I have slight vertigo, but gravity rush wasn't too discombobulating, there were some frustrating parts though but not enough to detract from the whole experience of the game. The story was pretty good, its pretty clear that a lot of time and energy was put into it, the writing is pretty great. My only complaint is that the game could have been a little longer (maybe a 20-hour campaign instead of 10-15? and what's up with the abrupt end?). Other than that I've got no complaints. Lastly, I would highly recommend this game because not only because YOU GET TO CONTROL GRAVITY but because the game itself is absolutely charming and magical from start to finish.

I had heard about this game but, really had no interest in it till recently. I had heard a lot speculating this game would be amazing so I decided I should check out the demo. From that moment I was hooked and longing for more. I picked up this game at release which is something I hardly do anymore. After playing the actual game I am convinced this is most likely going to be the Game of the Year for Vita if not in general. The game is beautiful and flows so well. The mix between touch screen the visuals and the motion controls manages to showcase the vita's capabilities in a way that has yet to be seen. I have had a lot of fun with my vita thus far and after playing this game it makes me excited for what's to come. I hope developers take a note as to what has been done here and this trend continues and improves. If you have a vita or are thinking about getting one this game is a must. At the least check out the demo and decide for yourself.
Rated 9 out of 10 by JIG2000 Great, but very fustrating Gameplay
After playing Little Big Planet PS Vita, AC III Liberation, Uncharted Golden Abyss, and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection repeatedly. I wanted to play something fresh and new. After reading reviews for Gravity Rush I went out and bought it. Gravity Rush is overall excellent only some things keep it from greatness. The Story is very interesting and complex, but may leave some players with some unanswered questions. The Graphics were very different than the realistic look of modern games, the graphics were almost like a painting. The lasting appeal is not great, all that's left for you to do is side missions, wandering around and DLC there is no replay from what I saw. The Gameplay is good, but it becomes frustrating like when I try to hit my target with kicks (which are your main moves) and they move and I miss so I have to fly up and try again. Overall, Gravity Rush is good, but the Gameplay and Lasting appeal are not its strong factors.

[Anti-Spoiler] I managed to get the Japanese copy, with a basic understanding i was able to make it about half way through with casual playing. I had an issue with a dialog/guessing game but there is really a lot of free roaming allowed in Gravity, At first i thought it was going to be generic but this has some very refreshing elements to it (I'm trying to avoid spoilers) I can say that if you will fall in love with Kat and her personality in very little time, her situation is something we can all relate too in some way or another and this one thing really captivates you and pulls you into her story.
This is probably the best game i have played since Skies of Arcadia, while two different genre's i believe this is a game that will capture you like a game has not done in a very long time, that empty feeling you have had for a really good game can be filled, right here.
I highly recommend this game to any type of gamer.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Cake3384 Fantastic Game! A MUST for Vita Owners!!!
This game is great! It is SOO fun. I have been playing hours and hours even after I beat it...twice! There is only ONE, yes ONE thing wrong with this game...the camera. It did not ruin the game, at all. It was only a few times the camera went wacky and made me get hit or when I was flying, the camera went upside down and made me get, well actually dizzy. But you can just press the down button and the camera went back to normal. Besides that, this game is perfect. It's not in English, but there are subtitles. The game play, the story is (unexpectedly) amazing, you can play this game for hours and hours. This is not only the funnest game on the Vita, this is the funnest games in the history of handhelds, and one of the funnest games EVER!
I highly recommend this game to EVERYONE with a Vita! If you have a Vita and don't have this game, you're stupid. It's well worth the $40 price tag.
Rated 9 out of 10 by MadeULook Must play for new Vita owners.
My time with Gravity Rush has been excellent and I got nothing but good things to say about it. However this is a review, and a review has to be honest about the games up's and down's. The game story is about a shifter named Kat who wakes up one day not remembering anything before and meets a strange cat named Dusty who can shift gravity. It's a charming story with great writing and characters. The cel-shaded graphics look fantastic on the Vita's OLED and offered some real nice Studio Ghibli style eye candy. Combine that with the excellent score the soundtrack provides just giving you more immersion into the world of Gravity Rush. Now my only real issues are with some the gameplay as the combat can be clunky, especially since the camera isn't really the greatest either during combat but is fine when flying around. Some of the optional side challenges can offer a good challenge but once you finish that up and the DLC (assuming you'll buy it) there's not much left to do after the 20-25 hours it'll take you to do everything. Overall, Gravity Rush a fun and very unique experience that any owner of a brand new PlayStation Vita should experience.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Bigpaa140 Great Vita Game for all!
Gravity Rush has a wonderful story that pulls you into things and has you hooked in the first few minutes of playing. Game is perfect for hardcore and casual/first time users of the vita by having optional "hidden" bosses and challenge missions that can be passed up for the casual gamers that are more interested in the story or can be engaged to earn trophies and level up for hardcore players. The graphics have a unique feel to them and are displayed wonderfully on the OLED screen of the vita. Controls are simple to use although the simplicity can be a drawback for the hardcore gamers being that the camera can't keep up with you and can be very frustrating and/or confusing at times. Gravity Rush is perfect otherwise and is a great game for every vita owner to pick up and add to their arsenal.
Rated 7 out of 10 by busterbluth Really Solid, but still has problems
First of all let me get out of the way and say yes, this game is great, i would tell anyone with a vita to buy it, but after beating it i must say i did have a few problems which were frustrating and are worth mentioning to the people who want to buy this game. My major complaint is the controls. But not that, its the air controls, when you aim at a target you cant just simply lock on to someone because once you attack it is difficult because of the controls to hit a moving target, on a console i bet this would have worked better. The good things i can say about it is that the story is entertaining, the characters are great, and all in all it is fun, i doubt i will play it again, but i had a good experience with is while it lasted.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Lucario08 Sniff Sniff... No multiplayer?
It is all fantastic. The best par-core game ever, in my opinion. But then, there is no multiplayer. I don't understand. Everything else in the entire game is amazing. But think, a par-core online war (heh, the rhyme) would be absolutely fantastic. But, if you don't care about multiplayer, GET IT GET IT GET IT! This was my second PS Vita game, my first being Wipeout 2048, the failiure of a racing game, and then this was the game to seal the deal that I had gotten a good system after all. Graphics were amazing for a ~5 inch handheld. Sound was best I have ever heard on a handheld as well, and it was a pretty cool game too. Long storyline, but with a great single player game, it is never long enough.
