Warcraft III: Battlechest
After all these years...
When I was 13 I received this as a birthday gift, and loved it. Played it till I was around 16, lost my discs, and went sometime without playing it. Now, at 18 years old, I have bought the battlechest again. Everything about this game is amazing. The campaign is well thought out, and matchmaking is a challenge that most RTS's don't offer. Multiplayer is where the REAL fun is at. If you think you've played some fun tower defenses and haven't played Warcraft III, you haven't even grazed the surface of amazing TD's. DotA, Hero Siege, Footmen vs. Grunts, Footmen Frenzy, LoaP, and many more wait for you in this bundle. I would HIGHLY recommend getting this, and I give you my word you won't regret it. After all these years, I'm still in love.
warcraft 3 is such a great strategy game. graphics are good for a slightly old game, controls are okay but the length and story of this is just great. if some of you people play world of warcraft some of you want to know how the story began right. this game explains like 4-10 years in the story before WoW how the scouge begun, the story about the lich king, where did the lands come from and explains about each race and side story. in the original warcraft 1 and 2 all you play is humans and dwarfs vs orcs, trolls and goblins. but when blizzard created warcraft 3 thats when they added the story about the undead, tauren, night and blood elfs. even explains how the orcs dicovered there new home land and when they become friends wth the taurens, when human and orc most work together to defeat the undead scouge and how arthas chose the path to become evil. controls are okay but the thing is you cant order all of your troops to move or attack at the same time. for example, when you highlight a unit or hero with others the highest you can high light is twelve units or heros. sound is good enough and the graphics is good to. you can always adjust the graphics to look better by going to options. there are a total of 7 storys including the 3 from the expansion. so if you love playing warcraft and strategy games this is perfect for you to get.
Fan of World of Warcraft? Then you'll love this game! I had been playing World of Warcraft for a few months and decided to try this one out. In doing so I probably made one of my best investments in video games ever. The graphics aren't cutting edge, although I personally like more classical graphics in a fantasy based video game. So in other words something like this. Another perc, the story line of this game leads right up yo Wow(World of Warcraft). The sound is surprisingly good for a game put on the market in 2002. The main difference between Wow and Warcraft is the gaming style. Warcraft being strategy and Wow being RPG. Battle net is another really cool feature, it allows you to play Warcraft on the internet for free! The nice thing about the controls is that you never have to mess with the keyboard (you could, but I wouldn't bother). So overall I have to say this is for sure the best strategy game of all time.
Warcraft 3 review
Warcraft 3 is a great game for people who like to play strategic games like Age of Empires or Starcraft. The game uses the mouse so it makes you like a god/commander. The story follows Arthrus as he hears news from a prophet about a new evil, The Burning Legion. The game sees you taking control of the four main races: human, orc, undead and nightelf. While there is a long storyline and great videos after the completion of a bit of the campaign there is still deathmatches and other local game types that you challenge the computer on many different maps. But yet another great feature of the game is it's online play. After purchasing the game you can sign up for a Battle.net account and play worldwide against almost anyone who also has the game. Also when the game is installed you also receive a map editor tool which can help you to customize and create your own maps and also post them on the internet for all to enjoy.
Easily the most fun RTS game ever made
I've had the battle chest for about 2 years now. Every so often I play it, but nonetheless it's an excellent game. The thing I like most about Real Time Strategy games is every time you play, its a new experience. Maybe one game you dominate with extremely powerful forces, maybe in the next game you get dominated by extremely powerful forces. The worst part of this game is the resource gathering. Star Wars: Empire at War rids of resource gathering which makes getting units and battle easier and faster. Of course Warcraft isn't a high tech universe. The campaigns are difficult, but not very long. I believe in frozen throne there's one full campaign and a demo one. Frozen throne isn't a necessity, but it does add more units and options of battle to your cache. Age of Empires is much like this game, though Age of Empires is dated it can be played on virtually any computer. Either game is great for offline travel. You won't be disapointed.
Awsome like always!
I can say only one thing about this strategy game-its the best!!! I already played WarCraft 2 and it was fabilous! This game has a very good storyline,(espessialy an ork one) and graphics and everythig else. Its very fun when you play on-line too. But if you already have another WarCraft games I don't recommend to buy this one since its basicly same one great RTS game! IT SHOULD BE 12 OUT OF 10! I recomend this game to people new to WarCraft or to a very big fans of it.-Like me! Now if you new to this game you need to read this part: The game is mostly about 4 races(orcs, humans, night elfs, and "undead") battle each other through different places and environments. You build and create your defences, camps, units and finally battle! Things that makes this game so superb from tons of other RTS games is the story, environments, units, and the magical outstanding world that is full of mysteries and magical-military atmospheare. COOL,EAH?!
Awesome game! Great online games! Long lasting! Great for casual and hardcore players! Awesome storyline! Hope this helped!
ok so this game is awesome!!! myself i dont have a computer i have to bring home a computer from school but at my friends house he has this game on his computer and we pull all nighters most of the time just playing this game!!! myself i havent played the story because after playing online i didnt feel the need to. so online there is a couple things that you can do you could just verse other people on how you build and create your monsters and have a war with what is called a 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4 or a free for all. but if you get bored of doing that you could just go to the custom games WHICH ROCK OUT LOUD!!!! there is such a variety of games for every gamer on there. me myself i prefer team line tower wars and i kick but in it. so if you dont have one of the new systems and you have a computer go out and buy this game right now!!!! but if you have one of the new systems i recommend call of duty 4 modern warfare above all other games possible because although warcraft 3 is the best pc game i have ever played it isnt half as addicting or fun as call of duty 4 modern warfare!!!! see you online

Warcraft III is one of the best RTS's ever created. There is a compelling storyline, complex races, and for once in a game there is a genuine personality with the characters. There are 4 distinct races: Human Alliance, Orcs, Nightelves, and the Undead. Each race is distinct, having its own pros and cons, and you are compelled to play every one of them. Of course the biggest plus with any Blizzard product besides the quality is the huge multiplayer community. Warcraft III was released in 2003, close to 6 years ago. There are 5,000-6,000 AVERAGE players online whenever you log in. You will always find a game for a long time to come and it is challenging to find a strategy. The expansion pack included, Frozen Throne, builds on the excellent formula and provides an even better experience. The thing that sealed the deal for me to get this was the Gamestop game day sale. It was only $*****, a steal at the price plus Gamestop decided to provide an extra %10 for EDGE customers through a coupon in the Gameinformer magazine. It convinced me that Gamestop values its customers so definitely purchase this great value!
A "Must-Have" For PC Gamers
I got this game when I was about 12, maybe 13, now years later, I have re-downloaded the game and am shocked that I ever stopped playing it in the first place. The campaign is pretty great, but the beauty of the game for me is the multi-player: Warcraft III features a complete game editor, custom maps with their own story-lines, units, rules, terrains, etc. are not only possible, but frequent in the custom games. The sky is the limit for created game-modes, you get arenas, strategy games, tower defenses, "Tycoon-style" games, and even one or two "platformers" all in one game. Furthermore, the game is not even remotely resource intensive. It has very low minimum settings, but does not sacrifice much in the way of graphics. It was built to run on everything, in fact, I run it fine with a Radeon 9550 and Pentium 4 2.6Ghz processor...on high settings.
