Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 The Masters
EA to Cancel this Game 6 June 2013
If you own this game, you will not be able to play it online after 6 June 2013. I would not buy it since it will no longer be supported by EA.
Don't waste your time.
The only good thing about this game is that it only cost 20 bucks to get now. This is, by far, the WORST golf game I've ever played. I would start with the pros about this game, but the only pro about it is what I've already stated (it only cost 20 bucks now). With that being said, let's list the cons.
*Online connection is awful - this is a bit misleading as one would actually expect the connection to last; it doesn't. After calling EA, they suggested that I don't use wireless and plug directly in to my router, I did and still lost my connection a quarter way through the game.
*Gameplay itself is awful - after giving up on online play, I decided to play offline (thank god for that option). The game seems to go a little quicker in that it doesn't completely crash my desktop (and no, the desktop is not a clunker). Good luck with the controls though; even though they are easy (how hard is it to move a mouse to swing??), getting an accurate shot is impossible.
*Powerups are non-existent unless you want to pay for everything - I'm not sure what brain-child at EA thought of this, but this alone is causing me to remove the game from my PC and eat the 20 bucks I spent on it. After buying a game, who in their right mind would want to shell out more money to buy powerups to actually make the game playable?? By powerups, I mean clubs that actually let you hit the ball farther than 200 yards on the tee. You probably will get them eventually by playing long enough, but in the amount of time you would spend doing that, you may as well go tryout for the PGA Tour in real-life as that amount of time would be shorter than it would be with this useless game.
Needless to say, I will be removing this awful game from my PC. I actually thought about getting this for Xbox when it first came out; I'm glad I had the sense not to as I can't imagine spending anything more than what I did for this. I could've gotten this game for free and it still would've been useless.
The game is OK for casual gamers
I have had this game for about three months now, & unfortunitly, EA Sports & Orgin can't figure out a bug in the game! You need to collect "points" throughout the game in order to get better gear. That means playing LIVE tournaments online, which is fine. But as you start the game, you have the VERY basic gear to get started. Points are very HARD to come by throughout the game, even as you progress & get better. The points allow you to aquire better gear, like clubs, grips, balls & attire. However, you also have the choice to PURCHASE points through their website, and this is where the bug is, you can't purchase them, cause the game doesn't take you to the website! You are stuck with your basic gear until you get enough points to upgrade anything. I have even been on the PHONE with EA & they are having the same problem !
