Product Details:

Garrett, the Master Thief, steps out of the shadows into the City. In this treacherous place, where the Baron's Watch spreads a rising tide of fear and oppression, his skills are the only things he can trust. Even the most cautious citizens and their best- guarded possessions are not safe from his reach.

Story

Garrett, the Master Thief, steps out of the shadows into the City. In this treacherous place, where the Baron's Watch spreads a rising tide of fear and oppression, his skills are the only things he can trust. As an uprising emerges, Garrett finds himself entangled in growing layers of conflict. Lead by Orion, the voice of the people, the tyrannized citizens will do everything they can to claim back the City from the Baron's grasp. The revolution is inevitable. If Garrett doesn't get involved, the streets will run red with blood and the City will tear itself apart.

Weapons

Bow

The bow is perhaps the most vital asset in the Master Thief's arsenal. This composite wonder folds down for stealthier movement.

Arrows

While an arrow to the knee can cripple, an arrow to the head is often lethal. With the right attachment, arrows can also change the environment in the Master Thief's favor.

Blackjack

Sometimes, the only way around the Baron's Watch is through it. A little smack on the head and it's naptime for any guard.

Claw

Rooftops and ledges are the Master Thief's natural habitat. This high-tech grapple makes it easier to reach higher ground.

The Baron's Watch

Darkness and disease have set upon The City, where the Baron rules with an iron fist. The Baron's rules are severe and his punishments unforgiving. The militia is there to make sure of that.

The Graven

Sickness and oppression have robbed the citizens of their freedom, their happiness, and now threatens their very lives. The chains are chafing. Tensions mount. The people turn to anyone who can offer a ray of hope

Basso

Well connected to the shadiest of businesses, Basso is the nearest thing Garrett has to a friend. Basso's trusty familiar, Jenivere, is a thieving magpie who makes an apt messenger to Garrett's clock tower hideout.

First I stole to survive
Then I survived to steal
I am one man
I hear your secrets, I see your hidden truths
I am the Shadows, the Dark and Deadly, the Velvet Night...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Highly underrated, a very great small, little gem I've played earlier Thief games, my favorite being Thief Gold. This game I feel brings a nice, new wrap around story to Thief. Although the plot isn't too special the gameplay system and world are. The world does seem to be a steampunk-victorian setting like Dishonored but bringing back some Thief like maps. I must say the campaign has it's ups and downs but if you can enjoy some of the cool scenarios and the semi-open worldness along with the challenge maps, you will have lots of fun. I do recommend the bank heist DLC as well!!! The challenge maps add many more hours and I found myself loving that allot! I nice gem that allot of people won't get to play, but I will hold a place in my heart for this Thief.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Honors the Thief Legacy; Incredible Achievement As someone who loves both Thief and Dishonored, in addition to Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, I think this reboot of Thief is impeccable. For whatever reason, this game is getting reviewed like it's terrible or something, which I find, quite frankly, more than a little absurd. Given the quality of graphics, the nicely detailed animations for Garrett's interactions, the solid gameplay, the immersive environments, the nicely done story-telling and voice work, I think Thief deserves more respect than it's being given. Sadly, my friends, it seems like the gaming community has experienced a collective butt-hurt, where they're all trying to pretend like they're actually knowledgeable when it comes to the Thief franchise. For example, many of these same Thief fans once hated Dishonored because they thought it was a "Thief clone," yet for being such diehard Thief fans, these people didn't seem to know that Harvey Smith worked on Thief before working on Dishonored. Whatever, it ultimately doesn't matter, but the whole sheepish mentality in gaming communities is pretty silly. I find a lot of the knee-jerk reactions to be way over the top. Whether Thief lived up to your expectations or not, it's a nicely built game. especially when played on higher difficulty settings, giving it a really core Thief vibe. Pay no mind to the knee-jerk hive mentality, give this game a look for yourself and see if it's something that interests you. I expect a lot of "Why did this review so low" and whatnot reviews in the future when it comes down in price and more people try it out instead of taking some exaggerated reviews to heart.
