Stalker Call of Pripyat
Tired of night time
I'm no longer going to buy any more games that have night time in them. I only like shooters and apparently only old ones because they didn't have dark times in them.
I LOVE THIS GAME!
I have the first STALKER and i loved the game, so when i saw that there was stalker call of pripyat i bought it on the spot, nice price now for an awesome game. when i first got the game i saw that the graphics were way better than the first stalker!I love the creatures including the new zombies, when i saw someone at night wobbling along the road i thought to my self its just a drunk man not knowing what hes doing, then i noticed on my radar it was an enemy!I pulled out my knife and crawled up behind him and noticed the blood marks all over his backpack!! I hit a bush and it turned around and looked at me, i didnt know what to do so i watched and to my suprise it lifted its weapon and blew my head off! so i had to restart. but in all i love this game!!!!!! cant wait till stalker 2!!! co-op is on it :D
Best RPG/Shooter i've played
I've played Far Cry 2, Fallout NV, Fallout 3, and this game. Out of them, this game is the best. The gameplay is just too easy to get locked into - I've played the story 3 times (and yeah, it's a huge story line!) The atmosphere is great too, you really find yourself in a wasteland with all the radiation and weathered objects. The most suprising part is that it's an RPG too. You do many quests in order to get some cash and nice loot, or you can just go around killing everybody for loot. Either way, there's squads of AI of the 4 factions that you can either stick by for cover or kill for good loot.
I also like the inventory system. If you played Resident Evil, here's your First-Person shooter version of it.
The only downside is the graphics. Yeah, they are still nice, really nice, as you can have weapon ironsights and detailed atmosphere, but this game looks like Medal Of Honor Allied Assault's graphics - which weren't bad, but outdated. Don't let the semi-good graphics turn you away, the gameplay really overpowers it.
A Better Zone Experience
Call of Pripyat polishes the STALKER series based heavily on what fans of the previous two games wanted/modded for. It is now possible to trade weapons with npcs, sleep to advance time, and fully upgrade weapons and suits. The atmosphere of the game has been tightened up considerably. Gone are the hordes of enemy soldiers in the deeper center of the zone. Now you truly do experience the eerie feeling of walking the streets of a ghost town. The anomalous zones are likewise much improved and provide a good challenge to navigate some as you quest for better artifacts. The lighting in the game is the best of the three with the night time being truly dark, which adds to the tension as you move through the areas. The aim mechanics in the game have been fine tuned along with the bullet physics and each weapon has its own unique characteristics, offering you a good choice in terms of firepower vs personal preferences. Stealth mechanics have been tightened up, making sneaking around more possible but still not truly full stealth. The game's only real downside is that the maps are much smaller and the overall area of the Zone is smaller than both of the other games, but this owes more to the main storyline than anything else. Overall Call of Pripyat offers a shorter, but more refined STALKER experience. A definite must by for fans of the previous two games.
best S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to date
call of pripyat is one of my favorite STALKER games out of the series so far. You will feel the tension in the air as you fight mutants, avoid anomolies, exchange bullets with the locals. The extended system of sidemissions is alot different from it's two sister games, however some of the sidequests do have an appeal to a fan of other games (like the the elder scrolls series). Customizing weapons and equipment remains a very good part of the experience. You will find yourself coming back to technitians quite often so that you can spend your hard earned money customizing your weapons to suit your needs. This STALKER game has a variety of difficulties to play. One for the fresh meat in the zone, another for the seasoned STALKER, and then there are many in between levels to suit your skill level. I recommend this game to new players and fans of the series alike
