Rated 4 out of 5 by from A real classic sonic game. Well let's face it, after sonic heroes, sonic started going downhill. with games like, shadow the hedgehog sonic 06, and sonic unleashed, Sega really needed to make a sonic game that felt like the classic ones, a game that would save sonic, Well they tried with sonic rush for the DS but that had the boost feature. But this time they finally got it right, this feels like a classic sonic game,THIS IS SONIC 4 EP 1. Now the first thing that I want to say is the only reason I gave the graphics a lower rating is because I played the Wii Shop version of the game. The game's story is set in between sonic and knuckles and sonic adventure. now the gameplay, it plays like the original sonic the hedgehog games it is basically an upgraded version of the classic games. it uses modern sonic's design and adds the homing attack which you are forced to use like when there's a row of flying robots and no path underneath. he graphics have been upgraded to fit today's standards. it is on 1080p on ps3/ Xbox 360 etc, and is on 480p on Wii. now the zones, they are all based off zones from the classic games, splash hill zone casino street zone lost labyrinth zone mad gear zone and EGG station zone. zones like metropolis zone always used to be excruciatingly hard, here it is pretty easy. the bosses are also based off of classic games, like the wrecking ball from green hill zone. the only problem is that they make some of the hardest bosses from the classic games extremely easy, remember metropolis zone from sonic 2, one of the hardest zones in sonic history, well it is not as hard in this game. another complaint i have is that it is too short, like 3 hours long, but it is amazing from beginning to end. and the music is amazing. this is a game that's worth playing, it's like reliving the 90's all over again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sonic is back Sega has done well the overall experience is awesome its like a fresh take on classic Sonic goodness. One problem I must point out though is the controls when sonic starts to run do fill a bit off if you are used to the genesis games but once you are playing it you will get used to it pretty fast and won't notice it anymore. The targeting and jumping are spot on and are actually better than previous Sonic games. the Levels and graphics are awesome very shiny and colorful like a sonic game should be. This game will have you hooked. It's really to bad Sonic Games get a bad rap by unknowledgeable critics these days. this game is destine to be a classic. I know the 2nd episode is out as i am writing this. If you own a PS3, Wii or 360 you owe yourself this awesome game. My only complaint is it is a bit short. But it does control well not perfect but well. It is as good as any Super Mario game . Which i am a fan of those games as well. Play this game.
