Mass Effect 2 Digital Deluxe Edition
A great game with only some flaws.
I bought this game a few days ago. I had no knowledge of Mass Effect 1 so this was new to me. The game is great. The graphics are some of the best I've seen on PC! Only Gamestop did not tell me that the online codes for the Cerberus Network and other DLC for in-game content were no longer in stock. But you do get the documentary and soundtrack and digital comic book. That did make me a bit happier after calling Gamestop to find they don't have the codes in stock. They also told me they were supposed to take this item off the website. Now the game. It's great! The graphics are awesome sounds ans soundtrack is exciting and fun, because there is no online multiplayer the lasting appeal is not great. You play the campaign and you're done. Unless you buy DLC, you play it once and you are done with the game. Now sometime I got stuck in game but that rarely happens. (Stuck I mean I can move my character not stuck on a level) And sometimes my computer won't react to some movement I tell it to do. If that's me and not the game then skip it. Overall the game is one of the best I've played in a LONG time. I love it and can't wait for Mass Effect 3!
Awesome game but don't buy the Deluxe Edt.
Great game, awesome visuals, gameplay, voice acting, etc. The main story was a little short, only about 30-40 hours worth, but pople will keep replaying it over and over. I can't wait for ME3, although I will not buy it from Gamestop anymore. A word of caution to anyone trying to buy the ME2 Digital Deluxe Edt. DO NOT BUY IT. Gamestop failed to inform me beforehand that the code and all the extra features that were "suppose" to come with the Deluxe Edt. was in limited quantity. Nowhere in the site page did it say that it is in limited quantity. I basically spent an extra $10 just for the regular edt. Also I will essentially have to pay $20+ just to get the code that was suppose to come with the game. I'm pretty sure information like this should have a notice, but it does not. As of 06/04/10 the ME2 DDE page does not say that. EPIC FAIL.
So far, I have not even beat it yet. It is an amazing game. The graphics on my computer are crystal, gameplay is smooth, and the sound is good. The only thing I did not like is A. downloading this from Gamestop (it just feels safer with Steam, but for price Gamestop won) and B. I bought this game a week and a half ago, and I still have not recieved my code!!! I am just nervous, because others have told me this would happen. But still the story is absolutely amazing, as normal, but it could have let you chosen a few of your actions from Mass Effect 1. I had Mass Effect 1 for the Xbox 360 and it was fun, but I wish I could have continued with that save on the PC. But, it is not so. Even with out those small hick ups, it is one of the best RPGs around. You will miss the enormous amount of weapons and armor from the first (unless you like choosing from 2 or 3 guns from each type).
Honestly I love Mass Effect, it combines the best parts of my type of gaming, you got your violence and great game play, what could be better then that right there. Just don't mess around in the second one or you will lose out in the third one... or so I hear. Well, all in all I give Mass Effect and Mass effect a 10 out of 10, that's the highest it would go so I had to put 10 out of 10, but in my own personal opinion I give it a 20 out of 10.
Great game, great sequel
This game is a perfect sequel to the oringinal mass effect
