Get mlb 09 the show!
I got this game a week or so ago for pc. I was so excited! I've always loved 2k sports! Signature style, graphics, animations, sound, and camera angles are great. But! Without the controller for pc, the controls are horrible and don't respond all the time. What really makes me angry is that sometimes between innings, the screen goes black and doesn't load the next inning at all. Now your computer is frozen and you have to turn it off from the source. Unlike all the other systems, 2k9 for pc fails to have living rosters which is on of the main reason I wanted the game. All in all, it's a great game, but make sure you have the best computer ever and the ability to update the rosters daily. If you have a psp, ps2, or ps3, get the show. I have a psp and today I'm going to best buy to pick up mlb 09 the show. I hope this review helped.

It's cheap, but...
I've read all the reviews about this product and there is an overriding theme: "Don't slam MLB 2K9 or you'll offend someone and you'll never get another MLB game PC again." Well, for what it's worth, I'm an old timer and a baseball fan and a PC fan. Put those things together and you get an honest answer. Here's the skinny: 1. The graphics are great. 2. The gameplay is great. 3. The menu is horrible. The first programmer that created "swirl in as you pass the cursor over it, click on tiny arrows" menus had a good idea when the sports games first came out, but it just doesn't work for this. It's confusing and, like I said, doesn't work. If I were going to program a menu for a sports game, I'd have every main category laid out in front of people on one page so they can check off what they want with the fewest click necessary. Instead it's laid out like a game in it's self, unforgiving - and it's frustrated as all get out because if you're like me you make a mistake and have to start all over again. The arrow buttons stick, too. If they work at all, the arrow button only click one direction. 4. The teams are well represented if you're just doing a practice game - but in the franchise mode I couldn't get any other team but the Angels. It's stuck. 5. The controller uses the logitec game pad, but it is difficult to figure out and difficult to use. You get a sense of accomplishment once you figure it out, but I had to press down/hold down the right button to do the batting. This hurts the old thumb after a while, and I want to be able to play through a whole game without cramping. :o/ My recommendation is for potential buyers to wait for a solid patch for this product. If it worked, it would be awesome.

MLB returns to the PC!
Not since EA Sports MVP Baseball 2005 (a fantastic baseball game, which I still play) have I been able to sit back and enjoy a Major League Baseball on the PC. I chose the PC version of MLB 2K9 for a few reasons: 1. The price was very attractive. (What I would expect to pay for last year's game in the bargain bin.) 2. Graphics looked fantastic on the packaging. 3. My PC exceeds the Recommended System Requirements, so I knew I could turn all the settings up. :-) Long story short, I believe this game is an excellent first-step towards the return of Major League Baseball on the PC. The graphics and signature player animations are awesome, but the gameplay reminds me of an unfinished beta version. (Bugs-a-plenty.) I hope that 2K Sports will release a few patches to address these issues. As for the control setup, I'm not a fan of the "Total Control" 2-stick configuration at all. I'm glad that MLB 2K9 offers the option to use a "classic" control setup, which is what I am more comfortable with. Here's to hoping that a much-improved "2K10" version is in the works, because this series has an excellent foundation to build on.

A Great PC Baseball Game
I like this game because it does work with the logitech dual action controller. It's my 2nd baseball game since MVP 2005. The graphics are alot better, the announcers and sounds are 10 times better. The one thing that really got to me was the controls, I had to get used to a whole new setup. Useing the two sticks is kinda a pain but im getting used to them. The great is game and I recommend it, If your used to the controls for MVP baseball 2005 you'll probably like that game better. Commentary in this game is great and they dont repeat them selves like MVP2005 that I know about yet. The players are looking alot more realatistic. In franchise mode you can draft, make trades, and keep a budget as well like in MVP2005. Overall I am recommending this game. This is definatley a great PC baseball game.

Great PC Baseball game if you can handle the controls
It's great to see a PC baseball game that works with the logitech dual action controller. It's really the first real baseball game since 2005. The graphics are great, the sounds and announcers are excellent, the stats are good, etc. The one thing that really bothered me at first was the controls. You need to use the two sticks in the middle when hitting. It's kind of a pain, but I'm getting better with it. The game is great and I recommend it, but if you have MVP baseball 2005 you'll probably like the controls better. I really enjoy the commentary from the announcers in this game. The players look excellent. There is a franchise mode that allows a draft, trades, and a budget as well. There are player cards which you unlock by doing certain tasks such as having Ichiro hit 3 times in a game, etc. Overall I'd recommend this game, just expect frustration until you get used to the controls on the gamepad.

Finally a great PC Baseball game
Here is what we've been waiting for, a great PC baseball game that actually uses joysticks and at a great price. I went to 2Ks website to check out the videos and features. I don't thnk they'll be online play for the PC, but it is listed as a feature. The fans in Atlanta even do the tomahawk chop. :) There is a franchise mode, commentary, etc. Finally a real PC baseball game, the first good one since 2005!
