Rated 10 out of 10 by TheGuyWhoKnowsTheGameThingyNow Great game
The best game to get, if you like to do anything. GTA sa was good, but I needed more of a free roam, do anything type of game. The best way to play for PC ( which I recommend ) is to get a Xbox 360 controller for Windows. It has so much selection that instead of shooting a guy in the head to get his car, you can aim your pistol at his head, then when he's out of the car you car shoot him in the head, and kill the other guy in the car, or you can shoot him, get in the car and take the other guy as a prisoner, get out pop his head, and drive away. Anything goes, nothing doesn't, and you can get a hotdog and beat the hotdog seller to death. Definitely the best game out there, and it your out of ammo, don't kill Little Jacob, the guns dealer, for ammo, the mafia will kill you quicker that you can say, : Guy can't we all be friends? So the best game ever, I love it, you should too, get it now, I command you, you'll like. ;-)
Rated 10 out of 10 by Mikep384 Not as bad as people are making it out to be...
I am roughly 20% into the game - I'll start out by saying that you should have a computer that is closer to the Recommended Specs than not because this game feels like it could be pretty taxing on system resources. I have had no crashes - the game has been smooth pretty much all along. The only issue I have discovered is that sometimes a texture will not appear for a moment. Rockstar is said to be patching the game very soon and I assume it will fix those kinds of glitches. I feel that for a game that has only been out a week or so, that the "issues" I've experienced are small potatoes, considering how cutting edge and completely huge GTA 4 is. The graphics are awesome, the game is long and interesting, the voice acting is amazing and I find myself laughing at the cinematic dialogs that happen throughout the game. For a person with a graphics card that is at least an Nividia 8800 or similar - the game experience should be great. I highly recommend this game - its awesome. My system specs for reference: E8400 dual core - 3.0 Ghz (overclocked to 3.6ghz) 4 gigs DDR2 1066 Zotac 512 MB 8800GT AMP! edition
Rated 6 out of 10 by GuitarFreakStyle Rockstar went with SecuRom
The same problems people with EA games installed with SecuRom are having the same issues here. To jump on the Anti-piracy protection wagon (which I do agree they should get paid) and silently install SecuRom without any EULA or pre empt knowledge to the consumer is plain not cool. Rockstar makes great games. Manhunt & Bully scholarship edition being my two all time favorites. Until now they went on the SecuRom wagon. SecuRom is known to cause freezing up and system glitches resulting in a hard reboot of your system. Also resulting in BSOD. its also an 18 gig download that awfully huge in size considering most games fit on a 8 gig DVD. Before installing this root-kit on your HD do some research on SecuRom before you buy this and see for yourself what's in store. After all it's your computer and you deserve to know what's on your Hard drive.

I love this game. Although using the cheats make the storyline a hell of alot easier, the game is pretty challenging. I love the fact that you can play online with other players, and fool around with your friends. I would really recommend this game for the xbox, because it is ALOT easier to play on. Though, the PC does come with the video replay editor. If your looking for something along the lines of Machinima, and Showing off to your friends over the internet, I'd go with the PC. Though if your looking more for gameplay, and showing your real friends, I'd go with either xbox or the PS3. Though I've never tried it on the PS3 yet. The basic logic in this game is wonderful. Now, when you hop out of your car, you don't just sit there, such as in Grand Theft Auto 3. I would really recommend this game.
Rated 6 out of 10 by bigggmike not as good as SA
okay to start off r* took about half of the content that was in SA and put it in here with the equivalent length of story line. i'm not sure why they did this, maybe it was because the game was already large as is, 16gigs. You cant buy property like you could in SA, you cant mod cars or vehicles like you could in SA, multiplayer is terribly laggy on every server in existence, but then again this is r* first attempt at multiplayer. The ideas behind multiplayer are great however the lag that it causes is un-bearable, driving around in a car with other people the car just starts skidding in random directions when it is actually going forward and shots dont register with the server until you are already dead. im hoping the next release that r* puts out will be a lot better than this one.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Gompers Great game, but has performance issues
GTA 4 is a great game for people that want a change of pace from all of the Halo, Call of Duty, and Gears of Wars games. I would not recommend this game for children (hence the M rating). One of the advantages of the PC version is custom radio channels. Essentially, you can put all of your favorite music into a specific folder on your computer. When you play the game, turn to a specific channel on your radio when you are driving, and your music will play like a real radio. The only reason why the PC version of this game does not get a 9 or 10 is performance issues. Though it does look as good as its console brethren, it has inconsistent frame rates and occasional crashing. Overall, this game is worth getting. Although there are issues, this game is definitely worth playing.

I truly do not see why people rave about this game so much I think it is very boring. Trust me I like GTA I am not a person against it, but this game is not to fun. First of all the story is very boring and has no appeal, I found myself skipping the cutscenes after I got tired of it. Also, the begining is a way to lose gamers, because all you do is drive people around you don't even get a gun! Next, controling the cars is bad enough its a pain. Another thing I don't understand is why people talk about the graphics the character models look horrible, the only good looking stuff would be the city. Finally the health system and missions are poorly done. The missions are boring and the finding stands to gain health are a pain to find. Sad to say GTA4 is just flat out bad.
Rated 9 out of 10 by KittensAreEpic Its Great, But It Has PC Issues
The game is great don't get me wrong. If you own both an xbox 360 and a pc thats running windows 7 you might just want to think about buying for the xbox 360 version and not for your computer. i do not know why but the game has been confirmed to have many issues on the windows 7 operating system. If your using Vista you should be fine. But if your using Windows 7 you may have issues installing and when the game is installed you are going to need to patch it because there is a texture glitch. So that is why I gave this a 9 out of 10, it should work fine on windows 7 but it does not.
Rated 3 out of 10 by Fawaz Great game but dont buy the download or get a code
I have to say this game is outstanding but dont download it. if you download this game you are going to have a very hard time getting it to work. i dowmloaded this and it still doesnt work and i got it a month a go. this game is great but dont ever download it. if you download this its basically paying 20 bucks for something that doesnt even work and also dont get a code for it either because it would suck if it didnt work like mine. Buy it on a disc or just get it for xbox or ps3. this game still doesnt work for me so i wouldnt recommend the download or code version of this game.

This game looks absolutely awesome on the Xbox 360, and I am expecting a lot more from it on the computer. I played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for computer and it was quite cool, I had a terrible computer so I had to play with the graphics all the way down. I recently got a brand new computer that is really nice and I know I can run this game on high graphics with no lag at all, I am quite excited for the Multi-player also. I can't wait to get this game, with it would come out sooner and they had a Pre-Order bonus thing like they do for most other games.
