F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
this is a great game to play
This is a great game to play but i suggest you play Fear and Fear Extraten and Fear preseuse mandate first it would help you understand about the game and whats happen to it but i suggest to get this game its kick butt in it and this is a good game to play on the Pc as long as you have the reqierments to play it and if you don't get it then your lost becasue this is a great game to play and if i am right there is a DLC comeing to it i don't want to give so much out of it yet but in it takes place in the first game when Patexen Feltter did not die the first time you play as a spelciel Repican solder just like in half-life oposing forces so take my avice and buy these game and if you don't you will surly miss out on this great game so go getit
The graphics and sound are better then the previous F.E.A.R, but the controls are just as crazy, your going to deffinatly want to change some buttons around. No where near as scary as the previous ones. However, there are still some freaky parts (with some gorey scenes) and the ending is pretty cool. If you liked the F.E.A.R series, I do recommend trying this one out. Unfortuantly you don't get to dual wield pistols and some of the guns are kinda cheesy, however you get to pilot some unique equipment that is really fun, not to mention ply your sniping skills a little, which is always a blast. The game length was sufficient and there are plenty of things to try and find while running around. Don't really see any replay value either, so this most likely will a one-time-thing for you. Unless your one of those people that like to play it on different difficulty levels.
I'm only half way though the game, but it is a lot of fun. The biggest negative about the game is it clearly was made for a console, and ported to the pc without improvements. It is really colorful and has kind of a cartoon feel, but not so bad that it effects the fun. I don't like that you can't bind keys to your extra mouse buttons only the 2 main buttons and the wheel work, so I can't use the mouse for jump and the grenades. The game doesn't allow you to save only the auto saves, but I like that. I found the game too easy as is, and unlimited saves would have made it even easier. I've seen others complain about the graphics, but with max settings at 1900 X 1200 I'm finding them to be very good just not as good as crysis. Overall this game is a lot of fun and that is all that matters.
Tis Game Definitely ROCKS!!!!
I have played alot of "shooter" games, but this one was definitely a challenge from start to end. The AI on this game never failed to amaze me because it adjusted its tactics to make the gamethat much more of a challenge. As far as Graphichs, I had my GeForce 8800 GTS 512 OC maxed out and the game never experieence one glitch during the whole time I was playing. As far as the sound, I gor true 3d effects with my 5.1 six speaker system. I never went in for the sci fi type of games, but this one definitely converted me to that type. I have played the downer, Battle of the Pacific by the History Channel ...Don't buy it!! The best ones that I've played lately Is Call Of Duty World at War, defintely an A++++++++, but In ending, buy this game...you most definitely won't be sorry.
Awesome Game!!! Worth the Money!!
I'm going to admit. I didn't finish the first FEAR, but I was to play this game, so I got it. And I would like to say that Monolith has done it again. They have created another outstanding piece of work. I can tell the graphics have change quite a bit and powerful, but low enough for players with PCs play it at a standard setting. The gameplay is quite fascinating and how the CPUs acted compare to the last FEAR made them have a mind of their own, but of course no game is complete without at least one dumb CPU, but thats all. The sound is clear, if you have the advanced sound card, but you can still hear great with older sound cards. All in All, I would recommend this game to FPS players, its addicting and fun! Try it. You'll like it! Let me know how much you like it.
If you are a fan of the FEAR series, you should be warned that FEAR 2 might disappoint you. I should state that I traded in a bunch of accessories, just to earn the money to buy the game. Most of the gameplay did not disappoint at all. The entire game is just like the Original FEAR, except the Leaning has been removed. You'll find yourself (Playing "Becket") doing most of what you would be doing, if you were playing F.E.A.R., running into rooms, taking out soldiers, going more through the game with a few spooks, and doing objectives to get to the encore of the game. What might disappoint some hardcore fans of the game (such as I) is that the game really lost it's spooky scary feeling, and it seems like another bad remake of a japanese horror flick. I only jumped about once or twice, unlike the original FEAR game I was pretty spooked to even continue every time I was scared. Sadly, you don't see litttle red dress Alma as you do grown up and angry Alma. The ending could possibly be the most disappointing part of the game, but I won't say why, as I don't want to ruin it. Its your choice whether you want to buy it or not, but if I had the decision of keeping this game, or getting the accessories I traded in back, I would get my accessories back......
If you've played the other FEAR installments, and you liked them, you will probably enjoy this one. The graphics are familiar with the original games, the sound is updated while keeping the same spooky tone. You catch on quickly when there are enemies around by the music. When it stops you're clear (not always, but 90% of the time). The storyline is decent and runs parallel with the first 3 games. Controls are easily configured to your preferences. Takes a little getting used to the new H.U.D. and shooting is touchy at first, as the A.I. has been enhanced to the point the enemies are dancing around and less predictable. They don't come after you either if you try to bait them, forcing you to take more chances and go after them instead. About as challenging as the previous games, no loss or gain there. The only real gripe I have is this game forces you to install a sub-program called "Steam" on your PC which acts as an app linking to the net. You don't have to be connected to the internet to play the game, but you must start the Steam app to get to the game and launch it. Very annoying, as I do not game online. Beyond that, as someone else mentioned here, the ending is seriously disappointing. I won't say what the ending is, but let's just say it is non-challenging, and abrupt - BAM - it's done!! Leaving you thinking "This CAN'T seriously be it?!" It most definitely leaves you understanding there is more to come with sequels or expansion packs.
If you have any doubts about this game, download the demo. I was instantly overwhelmed by the graphics.... the opening scene is breathtaking. And it ran so smoothly!!! What's better is the scare factor: I'm not a huge fan of most scary movies because they are pretty lame..... this demo brings you through a school. The atmosphere is rediculously scary. I have never had my heart pumping since doom 3 first came out. I'm definately buying this game!!!!
Pretty awesome for fans of horror FPS
Just finished the demo. Pretty scary, made me jump a few times, the graphics are stunning, Being able to get inside one of those tanks was great and different from the first FEAR. My copy has already been pre-ordered. This game makes Left 4 Dead look like a Disney game as far as fright and atmosphere.
This game is going to be insane. FEAR was amazing as was Extraction Point. I can't wait for the continued storyline, this should be a good game compounding on the great system that FEAR had just made by a different (better) company.
