Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Game!!! Worth the Money!! I'm going to admit. I didn't finish the first FEAR, but I was to play this game, so I got it. And I would like to say that Monolith has done it again. They have created another outstanding piece of work. I can tell the graphics have change quite a bit and powerful, but low enough for players with PCs play it at a standard setting. The gameplay is quite fascinating and how the CPUs acted compare to the last FEAR made them have a mind of their own, but of course no game is complete without at least one dumb CPU, but thats all. The sound is clear, if you have the advanced sound card, but you can still hear great with older sound cards. All in All, I would recommend this game to FPS players, its addicting and fun! Try it. You'll like it! Let me know how much you like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Fun The graphics and sound are better then the previous F.E.A.R, but the controls are just as crazy, your going to deffinatly want to change some buttons around. No where near as scary as the previous ones. However, there are still some freaky parts (with some gorey scenes) and the ending is pretty cool. If you liked the F.E.A.R series, I do recommend trying this one out. Unfortuantly you don't get to dual wield pistols and some of the guns are kinda cheesy, however you get to pilot some unique equipment that is really fun, not to mention ply your sniping skills a little, which is always a blast. The game length was sufficient and there are plenty of things to try and find while running around. Don't really see any replay value either, so this most likely will a one-time-thing for you. Unless your one of those people that like to play it on different difficulty levels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tis Game Definitely ROCKS!!!! I have played alot of "shooter" games, but this one was definitely a challenge from start to end. The AI on this game never failed to amaze me because it adjusted its tactics to make the gamethat much more of a challenge. As far as Graphichs, I had my GeForce 8800 GTS 512 OC maxed out and the game never experieence one glitch during the whole time I was playing. As far as the sound, I gor true 3d effects with my 5.1 six speaker system. I never went in for the sci fi type of games, but this one definitely converted me to that type. I have played the downer, Battle of the Pacific by the History Channel ...Don't buy it!! The best ones that I've played lately Is Call Of Duty World at War, defintely an A++++++++, but In ending, buy this game...you most definitely won't be sorry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected. F.E.A.R 2 Project origin, when first announced I was actually excited for the release. I am a huge F.E.A.R fan even know the expansion pack where a joke. This game is almost completely disappointing, I liked F.E.A.R one because it stood out in quite a few ways. This game is just another carbon copy of most new age shooters. First off if you haven't played F.E.A.R then half of the stuff their saying will run you in circles as you try to understand just what it is your doing. The gun names which I loved, are now replaced with dumbed down versions, as if they where trying not to confuse people. The enemies you fight in the game are completely dull, most of the time running towards a grenade while yelling "GRENADE!". You can't keep certin weapons on you because the game makes you switch to whatever it is your getting ammo for at the moment. There are forced sniper sections in which you have to pick up a rifle, but don't worry about dying as the snipers are so thick headed that they literally stand in front of you and take 20 minutes to line up a shot. The glasses interface annoyed me as most of them do. You can only carry three health packs as opposed to seven, but that doesn't matter as health injectors are EVERYWHERE! The ninjas come in groups of twos and are used as filler enemies, which wouldn't be a problem if they dropped ammo. There is no QUICKSAVE!!!!!! (( A mistake which they should have been killed for.)) So if you die between check points you go all the way back. The grenades are no longer contact sensitive, I loved that I could peg someone with a grenade in the last game and it would blow up instantly, and I spent countless hours doing cool tricks in F.E.A.R. There are no dual pistols, which hits me hard as the dual pistols where my favorite weapon from the last game. And there are quite a few button mashing moments so you don't get picked apart. Alma is no longer horrifying as many of her appearances are brief and at best a waste of time. The battle armor parts are laughable as any enemy that runs out in front of you will be reduced to a bloody cloud, its like having a god mode for ten minutes. The multilayer runs off a point system, and takes the weapon classes from CoD 4. No one is ever playing and from my experience I lagged out within 10 minutes of playing. This game is not for the PC crowd, if you loved F.E.A.R , do yourself a favor and pass this up. The positives of the game ((How little there are)): The game as expected looks pretty, you almost swoon over the buckets of gore and nice environments. The controls added a few new things but everything seems to be working quite well. The charters have a few funny moments, that is of course when they aren't spewing B.S. every ten seconds. The game is short.......((Trust me you'll thank it for being so.)) F.E.A.R 2 Project Origin is not for the PC gamers who found love in F.E.A.R It is for the people on the 360 or PS3 who don't know what F.E.A.R is. They will love this, but I cannot say the same for myself. Monolith has dug quite a fine grave for its game, and they have buried anything innovative and replaced it for graphics. But what can I say welcome to the new age........

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad If you've played the other FEAR installments, and you liked them, you will probably enjoy this one. The graphics are familiar with the original games, the sound is updated while keeping the same spooky tone. You catch on quickly when there are enemies around by the music. When it stops you're clear (not always, but 90% of the time). The storyline is decent and runs parallel with the first 3 games. Controls are easily configured to your preferences. Takes a little getting used to the new H.U.D. and shooting is touchy at first, as the A.I. has been enhanced to the point the enemies are dancing around and less predictable. They don't come after you either if you try to bait them, forcing you to take more chances and go after them instead. About as challenging as the previous games, no loss or gain there. The only real gripe I have is this game forces you to install a sub-program called "Steam" on your PC which acts as an app linking to the net. You don't have to be connected to the internet to play the game, but you must start the Steam app to get to the game and launch it. Very annoying, as I do not game online. Beyond that, as someone else mentioned here, the ending is seriously disappointing. I won't say what the ending is, but let's just say it is non-challenging, and abrupt - BAM - it's done!! Leaving you thinking "This CAN'T seriously be it?!" It most definitely leaves you understanding there is more to come with sequels or expansion packs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must buy F.E.A.R. 2 is a game that is must buy, even if you havn't played the first ones. This game will make you think of whats going to happen next, but you never know when its going to happen. You will guess that Alma will be coming soon, but then she is actually right behind you. So far, I have only jumped 2 times but I am only on the third level, I bought it the day after it came out on Steam. The game is super challenging, there is parts where you have a flash back, or even see Alma on a swing and you walk up to her. This game is instant action, once you pick it up, start it up, you will be shooting bad guys in just a few minutes. The controls are pretty bad for the PC, so I just edited them the way I like it (Shift to run, ctrl to slow mo, right click to aim, and others). The storyline is incredible in this game. Once you get the game, you are in for a treat. I will not tell you any spoilers to this game, any you know its amazing. The sound has scary music to it and once you see Alma, the music goes louder and without sound, this game is NO WHERE as scary. Anybody can just say this game is scary, but why don't they just turn off all they're lights and make the speakers loud? They will say its probably the scariest game EVER. There will be times when your in a pitch black room, BAM! Zombies tackling you and you must punch and kick it off of you. The AI is probably the best ever, there will be times it just hops over it cover, throws a grenade right over your cover, and run back. The slow motion is really what gamers want in F.E.A.R 2, you can just shoot a guy in the head, blood is flying everywhere! The AI sometimes have napalms and you can shoot they're gas tank and they will explode, and when they're body is in half pretty much, blood just flies out of there body, and blood is squirting everywhere. Whoever is looking for a game, here it is. F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin is here. Waiting. FEAR ALMA AGAIN.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Game I'm only half way though the game, but it is a lot of fun. The biggest negative about the game is it clearly was made for a console, and ported to the pc without improvements. It is really colorful and has kind of a cartoon feel, but not so bad that it effects the fun. I don't like that you can't bind keys to your extra mouse buttons only the 2 main buttons and the wheel work, so I can't use the mouse for jump and the grenades. The game doesn't allow you to save only the auto saves, but I like that. I found the game too easy as is, and unlimited saves would have made it even easier. I've seen others complain about the graphics, but with max settings at 1900 X 1200 I'm finding them to be very good just not as good as crysis. Overall this game is a lot of fun and that is all that matters.
