Far Cry 3
Great Story and Gameplay...but it does have flaws.
FarCry 3 Combines what was good about FarCry 1 and FarCry 2 and combines them. FarCry 1 you are on and island and the enemies are smart. FarCry 2 was improved with more weapons, vehicles and you could customize you weapons.
FarCry 2 also let you explore the entire area of Africa. However FarCry 2 did have it's flaws such as Malaria Pills. I can still remember that annoying little piece of game-play.
As said before this game combines both games, removes the annoyances and adds some new features, such as crafting.
Great Graphics and Sound like the last two are a plus. However I have a couple of flaws with this game.
The main character seems to be a college yuppie not the type of person you would expect to take on killers.
The second flaw is in the description of the logbook describing the plant life, characters, weapons, animals, factions, etc.
Whomever wrote it sounded like the just graduated high school and took their freshmen year of English in College. Not good.
Very good game
I purchased this game wanting a good hunting/action/shooter game. this game completely delivered. the graphics are unreal for a 2012 game. you will be able to hunt wild animals, kill pirates, craft and do so much more, The crafting system in this game is very good. this was one of my favorite parts of the game. you can craft anything from weapon holsters to massive grenade pouches. To craft these things, you have to kill animals and find materials. the graphics look flat out beautiful (on my pc) the water looks very realistic. fish, sharks, coral plants, sand, etc. When setting stuff on fire you will be in for a treat. The fire looks cool and flows very realistically on buildings, grass, and other structures.....like humans. There is an absolute massive arsonal of weapons like flamethrower, LMGs, SMGs, assault rifles, and a few weird but cool weapons like the string bow, repair tool, and flare gun. The gameplay in far cry 3 is really good. enemy and friendly AI are smart but not superhuman. the only problem i have with this game is the repetitiveness of what the enemy says. they will constantly say the same stupid line over and over again. this is not a major problem, but this happened to me so many times i began to get a little annoyed. Overall, this is a great video game and would recommend it to anyone who has a decent PC.
I am enjoying it, not caring about others!
PROS: 1) Game is currently on sale for $22 including taxes for PC DVD version. I just don't like download versions. 2) Graphics (if your PC is capable, with at least one ATI HD6850 level card if not two) are stunning. I took two points off for occasional stutters in fast paced heavy scenes despite my CrossfireX config. 3) This is NOT a call of duty or battlefield. Thus, the situations and open world looks real. Sure, war games have their own established place, but this one's more fun to me. 4) Good multiplayer, of course Battlefield 3 like title as many reviews suggest shines in a multiplayer environment. CONS: 1) Graphics can be demanding, 2) The in-game storyline can be a little complex and difficult to keep track of. Overall a fantastic game by a great company. The best in the FarCry series so far. And I love the Vaas' voiceover and his modded face for the game.
Like Skyrim...dont think so...
Whom ever said it was like Skyrim has NEVER played Skyrim. For what Farcry 3 can do isn't even close to the game play you get with a great game like Skyrim...
Unlike Skyrim, you cant:
holster you weapon
Wait out time
Customize you character
Play in 3rd person
Talk to many NPCs
Pick up anything you see
And there is a TON more
The game is a good FPS and if you can figure out how to get your add-ons hooked up is on its way to being a nice third installment to the Farcry franchise. Its not hard core by any means. Graphics and sound are up there but its no 9 or 10 out of 10...I would give it an 8 at best. What bothers me most is when you get to some parts of the game it kinda plays for you with your actions and interactions with characters.
Farcry 3 is a good $49 value but its no "Skyrim with guns"
A Major Disappointment
RockStar failed to meet the mark with this game. Unless your interested in numerous meaningless Boss fights, Poor graphics, Stupid storylines and, Overall just a bad gameplay experience. Would not recommend this particular RockStar game to anyone
Don't get this for PC
The game requires it to be run using ubisoft's version of steam, uplay. Uplay is a complete piece of trash. because of it, the game constantly lags and you can only get about 10 minutes in before the entire game crashes on you and you loose all progress. It is because of uplay that I will never buy another ubisoft game again. Please do not waste your money as the game won't even work properly.
Far Cry 3 is a great game especially for PC in my opinion. The graphics are just amazing, again especially for PC. Very good story. Free roam is great, and during free roam you can buy firearms any time. Also during free roam there are great vehicles such as cars, quads, and more. I recommend buying this game. You will enjoy it!
This game has mindblowing graphics!!! There are some really funny parts in it!! It's definitely not appropriate for anyone under 14. I played the first Farcry, and it was iffy, but this one blew me away it is just insanely good! :)
If you want a good game with great story, graphics GET THIS GAME!!!
Best Sandbox period
Top notch gfx and sound. Amazing gameplay.. extremely fluid transfer in and out of combat. Hunting is a blast and the exploration leaves Skyrim a little jealous. The only con I can see to this game is the fact that it boasts weapon upgrading.. skins, yes.. actual upgrades, 2 on a single weapon if it.supports it. DLC maybe?? AMAZING game.
I'm a major fan of the Far Cry games; been hooked ever since the first Far Cry came out on PC back in '04. Really excited for Far Cry 3; love the fact that the series is heading back to a tropical location. I just hope that we won't need steam to play it, seems like every game that comes now requires it, or some other third party program.
