Product Details:

Dominate the 18th century on land and sea. Command the seas, control the land, forge a new nation, and conquer the globe. Empire: Total War takes the Total War franchise to the eighteenth century Age of Enlightenment - a time of political upheaval, military advancements, and radical thought, captured in stunning detail in Empire: Total War. Empire: Total War introduces a host of revolutionary new features, including true 3D naval combat. For the first time in the Total War series, you will be able to intuitively command single ships or vast fleets upon seascapes rich with extraordinary water and weather effects that play a huge role in your eventual glorious success or ignominious defeat. After pummeling your enemy with cannon fire, close in to grapple their ship and prepare to board, taking control of your men as they fight hand-to-hand on the decks of these wooden behemoths. In addition, Empire: Total War will see further enhancements to the Total War series' signature 3D battles and turn-based campaign map. Real-time battles will pose new challenges with the addition of cannon and musket, challenging players to master new formations and tactics as a result of the increasing role of gunpowder within warfare. And the Campaign Map - for many, the heart of Total War - introduces a variety of new and upgraded elements, including new systems for Trade, Diplomacy and Espionage with agents; a refined and streamlined UI; improved Advisors; and a vastly extended scope, taking in the riches of India, the turbulence of Europe and, for the first time, the untapped potential of the United States of America.

  • Take command on the high seas. New real-time 3D naval warfare takes Total War's unparalleled battle action to the high seas, with players commanding single ships or vast fleets.
  • Become a founding father. Starting in 1700 - The era of warfare across oceans, revolution and the founding of the United States.
  • All new graphics engine and technology features staggering real-time seascapes, new advanced landscape and flora systems, and dynamic weather.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game Empire: Total War is one of the best strategic games I have ever played. It is very smooth running and very realistic. The naval battles and normal battles are better than before. I recommend this to any casual gamer who is looking for strategic games.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review for Empire: Total War Empire: Total War is a great strategy game, especially if you have played previous Total War games and enjoyed them. Empire: Total War takes place from the year 1700 to 1799 (C.E of course). Empire is a turn-by-turn strategy game in which you manage a nation that existed at the time. You can manage taxes, buildings, trading, and your army. You also can fight real time battles against an AI or play online multiplayer. Not only can you fight land battles, you can take the war to the seas and fight with colonial aged ships. You also can play a siege battle. Either the attacker must hold the center of the fort for two minutes, or the defender must destroy the attacker's army. However, the game works best on newer computers. I run with Windows XP, and the game is pretty slow. Also, to get the game, you have to have downloaded Steam software and the GameStop application on your PC. If you run with Windows 7 or Windows 8, I think Empire: Total War should work fine as long as your RAM is okay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great RTS game for all history buffs and fans. For once an RTS accurate to the time period and the ability to play with a sense of realism as far as the period correct weapons. I love how I was able to dismount Dragoons, change ammo type for cannons and set up troops in different formations to fit the fitting style. The graphics were great for an RTS and the sound was awesome giving you the feeling of really being in the middle of a battle during the 1700-1800s. Overall this is a great and fun game and I think all RTS fans should try it out. The only thing is that it can get old after awhile of playing because its not always a fast paced game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing I'm a HUGE fan of the Total War series. With good reason. Each Total War game has delivered hours, days, weeks, so on and so on of fun and entertaining gameplay. I have played every game in the series and personally own all but three of the games. This game is my "Tied for first" favorite. You can play as the superpowers of the time period (England, France, Spain, Prussia, Austria, Russia, Poland, Ottoman Empire, and the Maratha Confederacy). Through your diplomatic choices, military conquests, and your technological advances you can become military superpower and/or an economic powerhouse. Plus the battles are extremely fun to play. There is also a "Road to Independence" campaign where you play as the revolutionary forces in the Revolutionary War. The game offers all this and at the same time it keeps its historical inaccuracies to a minimum. The only downside is the game takes up a lot of memory. Also, the little videos that may pop up in the campaign tend to be laggy.
