Call of Duty: Ghosts
Good for Casual and Hardcore, but mostly casual.
This is the best CoD to come out in a long time, and actually, unusually, they did add some stuff to it. Squads: There are two modes for squads: Wargame, and Safeguard. Wargame is your regular multiplayer matches. But, the rest of you're squad members are your teammates, and Regular AI for the enemies. All the XP you earn here is sent straight to your multiplayer account. Squads and Multiplayer share the same XP and Unlocks. Safeguard is like Survival Spec Ops from MW3, except way better. You earn XP just like Squads, but you fight waves of infected, mini-jugs, and other enemies. You can use all killstreaks in safeguard. After each wave there are a ton of killstreaks that are dropped from care packages. Multiplayer: You fight with people online or with bots(Bots not ideal for Multiplayer) You rank up, unlock weapons, etc. Campaign: The Campaign in this game, unfortunately, sucks. The story is stolen straight from Red Dawn, NONE of these characters are likable or attachable. The only character I was attached to, was Riley. The dog. The gameplay is extremely linear, scripted, and doesn't let have you have any freedom what so ever. The voice acting is so bad it's not even funny. There are some cool parts in the Campaign, like controlling a remote sniper, a Defense section with turrets, claymores, etc. But it does not hold the Campaign. Extinction: This is like zombies from other games except with, you guessed it, aliens. You take drills, drill hives like a tower defense game. You are able to level up, unlock four types of pistols to start with, ammo, and special classes(Tank, Engineer, Medic, etc.) I overall enjoyed this game. Though do not buy this for the Campaign, buy Black Ops or Black Ops II for Campaign. Please note to NOT buy the PC version. It is absolute garbage. My score was better for console versions. You will not be happy for buying this on PC.
Not worth your Time and Money!!!
So when I first started playing the game in SLI I noticed the game started freezing, glitching up, and over all getting right down annoying to play. So I disabled my SLI and went off of one graphics card. By the way I have 3 GT X TITIAN'S. It improved a little. The Campaign was awesome to play as always. However it did have some glitches on its own with frame rate dropping randomly or just freezing up. Then came the multilayer... I have never played a single COD game that was so buggy on it's first release. Ghost was by far the worst. I dealt with sever Lag, glitches, etc.. Not to mention the graphics reminded me of MW2 & 3 with some spoofing up. You would think with all the specs that is required to play the game it would blow your mind. Well it will blow your mind...of disappointment. The specs that they say are required to play this game is a joke. I have a $9,000.00 PC and the game should be running smoothly but its not. It has gotten a little better to play online with the first patch Infinity Ward came out with but you cant make a BAD game that much better. The sound on this game is amazing I will give them that. In fact it's probably too good. You can hear your opponents a mile away. Don't wast your money on this game. There are other games out there that are worth more playing than this.
Call of Duty: Ghosts Town
I've been playing CoD since W@W, and this is pretty much the same run-n-gun arcade shooter throughout their franchise. Now I mainly play for multiplayer, and can say it's the same old stuff, nothing wrong with that.
There is point perk system, as used in Treyarch's BO2, so if you're not a fan of that, then that might be a negative for you. Though, the same old 1 host advantage lobbies are being used once again, which can and will lead to lag filled games, due to being forced to play against people probably not even close to your area.
Graphics look nice, only if you max out all the settings. There's no in-game option to change field of view, there are mods available but there is uncertainty at the moment whether they are allowed without punishment/ban. All you get for audio options is a level bar to increase or decrease volume. Unlike BO1 & BO2 where you have different audio presets, and can even lower down the volume of annoying voice overs and music.
As I said, this is the same gameplay as the previous games, whether they were IW or Treyarch, and I still have fun with that. So why such a low score? Well, I suppose this might not be IW fault completely, but there is weak PC community for this game. On average, there are 8K players online, sometimes 18K, and 30K on a rare sunny day. I honestly don't know if those are average numbers for a call of duty game on PC, being that it is my first one on PC. Without dedicated servers, and the previous 6GB RAM requirement (now patched to 4GB), people probably decided to pass on this or just decided to move on to consoles (which average +400K players online), sadly. Cannot recommend at the moment, if ever, I would suggest wait till steam itself has a free to play weekend, maybe by then there will be more players and you can see for yourself how the game runs..
Worst CoD yet
First of all, I have purchased every CoD to date, and this one is no different in many ways. The game play is just ok. The weapons are decent and the customization and coin system are better than its predecessors. Squads is pretty cool for training as well. So far, the campaign is nice, but not really fresh at all. Same basic story line, same cut scences, same missions. Basically, same old CoD. Also, it took A LOT of tweaking to get this thing to run even half way ok on a moderately powerful PC.
Now the multi-player downsides. The maps are absolutely awful. It's almost as if the developers TRIED to make the maps overly confusing and disrupt any kind of flow they may have. On a majority of them, Chasm being the worst, you basically just luck into someone. There is no skill, no tactics, just dumb luck most of the time. The spawns are just as idiotic as Black Ops II also. Spawning at the end of an enemy barrel will happen almost every game. You will also have an enemy spawn behind you every time also.
Overall, I'm extremely disappointed in this game. I've given it a chance, but I still have the same initial opinion. Save your money, it's not worth it.
Worst COD yet!
I have every COD for PC and this is just garbage in comparison to any others. It just plain has nothing appealing to it. I only play it because I wasted the money on it. The graphics are blah, the environment too detailed and big to see anybody. Total campfest and horrific spawns. Stay away if you haven't already wasted your money, send a message to IW and Activision.
I like a decent shooting game but this one I would pass. the graphics take you back to cod4. I got a preorder copy and started playing day 2 and there was already 3rd pestiegers and people using thermal. I've yet to se a player who does not camp. only positives are the new extinction mode with aliens and the campaign (and I'm not a campaign person)
worst COD ever for PC
I play on PC and is the worst COD I have ever play on PC it has a lot of problems, it looks like a beta not a real game. Very disappointed, I would rather play Battlefield better graphics not a lot of campers and does not have the problems that ghost has for PC.
Not a 10
Not sure how this got a 10 on here. I have recently crossed over from consoles to pc gaming and have played all the other COD games on 360.
I am not sure if IW was just tired of making these and wanted to wreck it so they could make something else? But, that is all I can come up with as to why they would make a game like this. It looks terrible and I am running BF4 Ultra.
Destructible environments? Ummm one gas station pump area in the entire multplayer experience I have had thus far. One structure? Are you serious? Terrible.
I will say that BF4 is only a slight improvement over BF3 and is definitely the better game this year. But, I am thinking this is a start of a downward spiral of these military shooters and someone has to do something original here.
I am sure it will happen and I am hoping it will be Titanfall or Destiny. More than likely Destiny.
But this game? Not "next gen" in any way. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
The only "next gen" looking game I own on my PC is Arkham Orgins and I got it for free when I bought a new video card to run BF4.
I actually came here to look at the return policy to see if I could get a refund for Ghosts but unfortunately there isn't one. Perhaps give customers a week or even 2 or 3 days to get a refund on a download?
Game is just awful.
This game is terrible
Just like all the other CoD's, nothing new.. oh, except a dog. Who cares? Reused, recycled, and warn out content.
Feels like COD 4?
In response to the...less than educated gentleman who obviously had not played this. It feels like a general improvement indeed, though I have just switched to PC a bit ago after finally getting a decent comp and stopped using the xbox.
Some people say it feels like cod 4!...frankly its been a long while back so I have no idea if they are correct or not, but it does feel a bit vaguely familiar.
If you're into the whole single player story line and think multiplayer is just a bonus you shouldn't be disappointed. I played both Battle field 4 SP and Ghosts and I must say Ghosts had a longer and more interesting story...not to mention the amount of destruction in Ghosts, yeah...ghost's SP more destructive than BF4s? Shocking, but its pretty much true in all general speaking, even if its scripted.
The create a squad member and loadout thing is definitely an improvement, being able to slighty customize your own character model and being able to buy weapons you want after saving up at the max 8-10 points is pretty nice instead of leveling up to try and get them.
Is this better than BF4? Is it the same thing over again? Think of it this way, BF4 is like BF2 Bad company 2, except some more destruction, more vehicles, etc etc...
