Call of Duty: Ghosts
Great CoD But...
The game is great, but it doesn't have ANY Mature Content Filter, so I CAN'T play campaign missions! Make a downloadable Mature Content Filter, PLEASE! Either way, though, Extinction is better than Zombies and I love the Squad Mode, BUT MAKE THE FILTER!!!!!! (plz ;P)
Infinity Ward Makes Another Masterpiece
As with Call of Duty 1, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, I am certain that Infinity Ward will blow Black Ops 2 out of the water with another brilliant Campaign, an incredible Multiplayer experience, and the new mode that will be replacing the amazing Spec-Ops mode. Bundle this with the power of a next-gen engine, and you have one heck of a competitor to other FPS's coming out such as Battlefield 4 and Halo 5. I truly believe this will be an amazing game and highly recommend preordering this title ASAP as I am going to do.
Worst CoD yet
First of all, I have purchased every CoD to date, and this one is no different in many ways. The game play is just ok. The weapons are decent and the customization and coin system are better than its predecessors. Squads is pretty cool for training as well. So far, the campaign is nice, but not really fresh at all. Same basic story line, same cut scences, same missions. Basically, same old CoD. Also, it took A LOT of tweaking to get this thing to run even half way ok on a moderately powerful PC.
Now the multi-player downsides. The maps are absolutely awful. It's almost as if the developers TRIED to make the maps overly confusing and disrupt any kind of flow they may have. On a majority of them, Chasm being the worst, you basically just luck into someone. There is no skill, no tactics, just dumb luck most of the time. The spawns are just as idiotic as Black Ops II also. Spawning at the end of an enemy barrel will happen almost every game. You will also have an enemy spawn behind you every time also.
Overall, I'm extremely disappointed in this game. I've given it a chance, but I still have the same initial opinion. Save your money, it's not worth it.
The death of a franchise
Hardcore COD player since Modern Warefare (COD4). Skipped the other titles other than playing some BO2 with friends. Got this one because it promised to be a lot of things. They failed on nearly every one.
Pros: Graphics (when it's not lagging/stuttering/glitching), Squads Safeguard (for a short while), and Extinction.
Cons: Hackers everywhere, poor gameplay, hard to find servers (listen servers, not true dedicated like promised), no support, maps are restrictive and unimagined, and last but definitely not least, SPAWNS. They're horrible.
This game has led to my decision to never buy another Infinity Ward tainted product again, and I encourage the same of everyone else.
Year after year they lie and fail to deliver on even the most simple of things, and boycotting/them losing millions is the only language they understand.
For anyone wanting to know how to kill a successful franchise, this is it.
Hackers, bugs, and crashes. Great game wasted.
So many franchises these days are ruined when the game owners get too creative with the franchise, and force the developer to change too much and lose the "formula." Not this game. It's good ole Modern Warfare with more amazing graphics, more great sound, and more complex maps. The explosions, particles, and interactive maps are all awesome. Nuances such as different killstreaks, squad gameplay, and the availability of all of the weapons soon into progression make Ghosts unique; but I found comfort in that the game is still true to its identity. If you've owned and liked any games from the Modern Warfare series, you can definitely pick this game up and not feel ripped off that it's either too close or too far from the other games. Well done! HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!! The game lacks, what we could loosely call, service after the sale. They recently patched the game and lowered the RAM requirement, which demonstrated the dire need for the game to be optimized. However, further optimization is still needed, as I've found some glitching, crashing, and slowness on my machine (which runs BF4 and Rivals no problem). Additionally, multiplayer is rampant with hackers. I watched one guy go 99-9. The game can't even balance out the cheaters, so teams win by double. Get ready for wall hacks; guns that fire like an SMG, do damage like and assault rifle, and spray like a shotgun; players with ALL of buffs at once; random killstreaks; aimbots, etc. I thought I was just really bad at the game, but I started looking at the kill replays. I played about 20 rounds yesterday, and 4 of them seemed to be actual fair fights. It absolutely ruins the multiplayer experience; and I stopped playing the game after I got too frustrated with all of the hackers. I will probably play the game through my holiday break to see if I can get good enough that the cheating becomes ineffective, but anyone who is super-serious or super-casual will be quickly frustrated by the exploits. I'm not sure what makes this game different in that they can't or won't stop hackers. Overall, disappointed.
Feels like COD 4?
In response to the...less than educated gentleman who obviously had not played this. It feels like a general improvement indeed, though I have just switched to PC a bit ago after finally getting a decent comp and stopped using the xbox.
Some people say it feels like cod 4!...frankly its been a long while back so I have no idea if they are correct or not, but it does feel a bit vaguely familiar.
If you're into the whole single player story line and think multiplayer is just a bonus you shouldn't be disappointed. I played both Battle field 4 SP and Ghosts and I must say Ghosts had a longer and more interesting story...not to mention the amount of destruction in Ghosts, yeah...ghost's SP more destructive than BF4s? Shocking, but its pretty much true in all general speaking, even if its scripted.
The create a squad member and loadout thing is definitely an improvement, being able to slighty customize your own character model and being able to buy weapons you want after saving up at the max 8-10 points is pretty nice instead of leveling up to try and get them.
Is this better than BF4? Is it the same thing over again? Think of it this way, BF4 is like BF2 Bad company 2, except some more destruction, more vehicles, etc etc...
Not a 10
Not sure how this got a 10 on here. I have recently crossed over from consoles to pc gaming and have played all the other COD games on 360.
I am not sure if IW was just tired of making these and wanted to wreck it so they could make something else? But, that is all I can come up with as to why they would make a game like this. It looks terrible and I am running BF4 Ultra.
Destructible environments? Ummm one gas station pump area in the entire multplayer experience I have had thus far. One structure? Are you serious? Terrible.
I will say that BF4 is only a slight improvement over BF3 and is definitely the better game this year. But, I am thinking this is a start of a downward spiral of these military shooters and someone has to do something original here.
I am sure it will happen and I am hoping it will be Titanfall or Destiny. More than likely Destiny.
But this game? Not "next gen" in any way. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
The only "next gen" looking game I own on my PC is Arkham Orgins and I got it for free when I bought a new video card to run BF4.
I actually came here to look at the return policy to see if I could get a refund for Ghosts but unfortunately there isn't one. Perhaps give customers a week or even 2 or 3 days to get a refund on a download?
Game is just awful.
Not worth your Time and Money!!!
So when I first started playing the game in SLI I noticed the game started freezing, glitching up, and over all getting right down annoying to play. So I disabled my SLI and went off of one graphics card. By the way I have 3 GT X TITIAN'S. It improved a little. The Campaign was awesome to play as always. However it did have some glitches on its own with frame rate dropping randomly or just freezing up. Then came the multilayer... I have never played a single COD game that was so buggy on it's first release. Ghost was by far the worst. I dealt with sever Lag, glitches, etc.. Not to mention the graphics reminded me of MW2 & 3 with some spoofing up. You would think with all the specs that is required to play the game it would blow your mind. Well it will blow your mind...of disappointment. The specs that they say are required to play this game is a joke. I have a $9,000.00 PC and the game should be running smoothly but its not. It has gotten a little better to play online with the first patch Infinity Ward came out with but you cant make a BAD game that much better. The sound on this game is amazing I will give them that. In fact it's probably too good. You can hear your opponents a mile away. Don't wast your money on this game. There are other games out there that are worth more playing than this.
Physical copy and Steam
All of the info says the digital download will require Steam to install and play. No info seems to be available about the physical copy. I won't buy the disc if it requires Steam.
The title is very missleading. There are actually NO GHOSTS in the game. No paranormal activity what so ever
