A great action-adventure game you can't miss!
When I got this game as a Christmas present, I wasn't sure what to expect. Upon playing it, I found this to be the most awesome action-adventure game I've ever played, next to any of the Metriod games I've played. The graphics were astounding, the soundtrack was immersing, and the voice acting was pretty neat. Batman actually sounds like Batman. You know why? Because they used the voice actors from the animated series that used to be on TV. I KNEW those voice sounded familiar! Most importantly, the gameplay is solid, and the controls are quite responsive. My only legitimate complaint about this game is the combat system. It's not bad or anything, but it needs some work. The Free-flow combat system works best when facing a few enemies, but when facing a mob of criminals, say... 6 enemies or over, sometimes Batman will hit a target you didn't intend on hitting and sometimes mess up your combo. Getting used to the combat system takes time to get used to, but in the end, it's satisfying. I sure hope they improve the combat system a bit in the next game coming up, because this game is EXCELLENT! Any fan of the Batman franchise and/or action gaming fans should DEFINITELY grab this game, because you'll never be sure if the sequel will capture that same awesomeness as this game.

The Best
I have Game of the Year Edition for the PC, though I have also played it on the PS3. This game is awesome! It's fun and has amazing graphics. There are so many sweet moves and cool gadgets for Batman to use. The attention to detail is fantastic. You can always notice little things if you look closely. Each mode has its own fun parts. Combat has sweet move that are very fun to watch, but you need to do it right in order to see them. And the moves flow together so well with the FreeFlow system. Predator mode is fun because you sneak around unseen and use gadgets, moves, and your surroundings in fun ways to take down the thugs. Smashing through glass into a thug and using gadgets in new creative ways are fun to do in this mode.
Overall, this game is one of the best games, if not THE best game ever. Because of this game, I pre-ordered Arkham City and can't wait for it!

Amazing
This game is so addicting. I played this for hours until I finished it. Loved the story and the gameplay. This game is the best super-hero game ever. Can't wait for Arkham City.

A great game, but with hardly any lasting appeal
This is the best action-adventure Batman game out in the market right now. Due to its release date, modern times have given it excellent graphics and sound quality from the environment and the voice acting. This is perfect for any fan of the Batman comics, movies, or TV shows. The game has a great combat system with slow-motion views when Batman gives his last strike to an enemy, and even upgrades for you to choose from and new gadgets as you continue through the game. There is also times in the game where you have to be stealthy. The bosses and missions aren't a problem for anybody, and I guarantee you'll beat the game in less than a week. The reason I gave this game a 9/10 is because the game has everything except a lasting appeal. Since the game is so short, you can find all of the hidden items and complete the challenges within a short amount of time. Once you beat the game, found the hidden items, and completed the challenges, the game doesn't offer much, so the feeling of the game's awesomeness goes away quickly. If you already have a Windows-Live account with points, you can spend those points on new challenge locations for the game.

A must have
I bought this game about a year ago but just finally finished it after restarting. I've always liked comic book characters but wasn't really a hardcore fan. This game made me start buying batman comic books because it is amazingly addictive. The game has a great story line, good controls, music and sound, dialogue, and its really addictive. It's a stealth, puzzle, and fighting game. It's very easy to pick up and learn. The further you progress, you gain more gadgets to unlock more secrets. Sometimes going back to past areas to find a secret gets tiresome. The fighting is a lot of fun. Combos are easy to connect and you always feel powerful after you take down a group of prisoners. The villians are great to watch and fight. The Joker is really funny to listen to as he taunts you throughout the game. The prisoners react to your actions with their dialogue as well as running to investigate KO'd bad guys and then calling over the rest of the group to help out. My only difficulties with the PC version of the game was when I initially played the game a year ago, I had trouble saving my game and needed to restart many times. The game wants you to be logged into Live and for some reason I had a hard time. Also, my video card was only slightly above the recommended settings but the movement of the characters was slow at times especially when there were a lot of people on the screen. I just upgraded my card to a high end card and now the game runs smooth with all the settings maxed out. Can't wait for the new Batman game to come out.

Love Batman? Play this game!
The Perfect Batman Game! The game draws source material from the comics past and present. The fighting style is simply graceful with tons of grit. Batman isn't just hardcore, he is an awesome detective and this game shows it. The game covers many different styles of gaming. You will love it.

A great but short game...
This is a great but SHORT game. Overall It has you really involved but it's not long enough to make you want to play a second time. I usually take around 2 weeks to a month to beat a game, it two days to beat Batman Arkham Asylum. It really disapointed me when it came to length, but if that factor is thrown out, then this is a great game, and I would highly reconmend it. You control Batman directly with an over-the-shoulder view, at first I didn't like this, but in time, it was greatly appriciated. It really helped gameplay. But when in combat, it switches to a third person camera, for an easier kill. You know combat is over when Batman preforms a slow-motion matrix-style move on the last henchman. With a total of 4 (three really) bosses, this game was no challenge on easy mode for me, I am going to run through it again on normal to see how far I can push myself.

Welcome to the Asylum
Best. Game. Ever. I'm a hardcore batman fan, but it doesn't matter if you love or despise batman, this game is AWESOME!! The graphics are excellent and the combat system is superb. The blend between stealth and outright brawling is perfect, and the storyline is very complex. you can unlock bios of all the characters, and there are over 200 riddler challenges! (All of which are optional.) A difficult game but it does not involve much dying because BatMan grapples back up to a ledge if you die and eats thugs for breakfast. There are a ton of different gadgets to unlock, some through storymode and some through Waynetech (the upgrade system.) There are a ton of different bosses ranging from punks like Bane and Harley Quinn to masterminds like Riddler and Joker. All in all an excellent game and I would recommend it to anyone
