Product Details:

The year is 2009. Worldwide political tensions are at a breaking point when a commercial airliner is shot down by a U.S. missile over Eastern Europe, killing all aboard. The U.S. government claims no involvement, and dispatches Agent Michael Thorton to investigate and bring those responsible to justice. As the first modern day spy role-playing game, Alpha Protocol offers unprecedented control over the development of Thorton's abilities and his interactions with other characters. Upgrade skills such as physical combat, weapons mastery, cutting-edge technology and even seduction as you grow in experience and complete missions.

  • Customizable Spy - Players continually develop their spy with advanced close-combat techniques, lethal marksmanship, the ability to wield ingenious spy gadgets, and much more.
  • Multiple Paths to Choose From - With no right or wrong decisions, players can constantly change the storyline based on the choices they make. Will they let a terrorist escape to follow a lead, or eliminate targets against the mission agenda? Demanding decisions are challenging and many.
  • Revolutionary Interaction System - With the Alpha Protocol "Ripple Effect" system, players can interact with allies and enemies in a variety of ways. Their choices will dynamically change the storyline and unlock new missions, weapons and alliances.
  • Complete Choice of Combat Style - An arsenal of weapons with a plethora of customizable add-ons allows players to create a personalized weapon load out for every mission. Cutting-edge technology, stealth maneuvers, ballistic explosives and more can be discovered and used!
  • No Time to Spare - Every decision and interaction in Alpha Protocol is made with a time-limit that steadily ebbs away. Players must think fast, act urgently, and then prepare for the consequences!
  • Real Modern-Day Setting - Players can live out real-world espionage within rich international settings such as Rome, Moscow, Taipei, and Saudi Arabia.
  • Developed by RPG Masterminds, Obsidian Entertainment - Founding Obsidian members have worked on RPG blockbusters including KOTOR II, Neverwinter Nights 2, Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, and Fallout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Game! Alpha Protocol has been one of the best games I have ever played. As I play the game I feel like I am inside the game going on missions and being a hero. I hope Obsidian Entertainment makes a sequel to the first one! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really Fun I can't believe no one bought it. I downloaded it, and the PC version stands out over the console version. The frame rate still drops though (a frame rate is how fast your game is going). The gameplay is great. If Obsidian SOMEHOW makes a sequel, they should add some great multiplayer. That's it. Download now!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It actually isn't as bad as people say. IMO Fact is there are gameplay issues, and the RP elements are SOMETIMES weak; but the real-world choices and reactions are spot on, voice acting it top shelf and the annoyances in the gameplay are actually easy to get used to or there is a workaround. Much like the view problems, you can easily switch from L to R shoulder view with barely a thought; it becomes second nature when you play. Sure, the game has choppy moments even on high caliber machines, it is a trade-off for how fun the game can actually be if you sink into the plots. Fun to replay with a bad attitude or simply an uncaring killer mentality as far as the game is concerned. Sneaking and such is amazingly well thought out. The bads? Oh, there are MANY bads. The game should have been epic in all ways, the idea behind nearly every part is astounding but the implementation or the bugs themselves make it at times seemingly unplayable. Things getting stuck, plot key points not always playing through. The save system is......but I've seen worse. I would have purchased it for full Tier 1 if I would have known I would enjoy it as much as I did in spite of the bugs and playability issues. Though the bargain price it is now makes it well worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Game Didn't know what to expect and wasnt sure since this seems to be a console game but for PC its alot of fun. As for the guy who reviewed it and says its "choppy" maybe you need a newer graphics card or something because it's not choppy at all on my gtx260/ i5-750 combo. One thing i dislike immensely is some of the re-spawn spots. You end up right in front of a guard looking at you although you are on a stealth mission. Hopefully a patch will address this. I give it an 8/10

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Alpha Protocol - Avoid at all costs!!! This game was eagerly anticipated and now that it is finally here it is an utter disappointment. The first and perhaps biggest deficiency is game play … it is so choppy that you wonder if this game was finished before release. Sega/Obsidian should be ashamed for releasing a game in this condition … especially after the release delays. If this is the best they can do they should get into another line of work. Just a few of the extremely annoying game traits; • Choppy movement • Tendency to spawn in walls or other solid structures • Completely unnatural poses when killed • Weapons that materialize right through body parts (is RPG through his shoulder) • And on, and on, and on Then there is the camera views … so bad in places that the view is within an inch of the characters head. There is also a mixture of genre … your cruising along in a RPG and suddenly (ie Brayko battle) you’re in a seemingly different game. The Brayko sequence is ill conceived and out of place. It should have been left on the editing room floor While the dialogue and story are good ... and the weapons customization very good, they cannot make up for the unacceptable quality of this release version. There is no way that the developers didn’t see these problems and it is unforgiveable that they released in this state of finish. This was a money grab pure and simple. Do yourself a favor … avoid this game like the plague and spend your hard earned money on a polished worthy game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly Interesting Game This Game Reminded Me of Mass Effect 1/2. It gave me a great satisfaction with its storyline and how it can punish you for making a mistake in a "Dialogue Option". It Presented a Challenge in its Firefights and Stealth. Its characters were very well customized and given wonderful personalitys. My only complaint bout this game is that it didn't go on after the ending making me very disappointed that I would have to restart everything I did. I Highly Suggest getting this game if you like Any of the Mass Effect games and even if you didn't and like stealthy mission and ninja like games. I truly had alot of fun with this game as its story through me for a loop many many time this gave me a satisfaction of trying to figure out the mystery. Love, Joe :D
