Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great console. Amazing Games. Ok controller. I have had my new i7 console for almost a week now and I can't stop playing games! The resolution of this games is just amazing with no lags or sudden crashes. Honestly, I am really loving it. The controller is ok though. You can customize its functions/behavior which is something you cannot do on a PS or an Xbox (it works differently that what you are used to with a PS or Xbox and sometimes it gets a little annoying to be honest). I really hope they release a standard controller in the future that works wirelessly with the Steam Machine. Coming from the PS world, I have to say I have no regrets about purchasing this console.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hold off... Out of the box its a beautiful glossy black system and it is about the size of a Wii-U. Weight wise it weighs more than a Wii-U and feels like picking up a 360 with one hand. The controller is jet black, smooth and light with a slightly clunky feel to it. The feel as if it was the first time you held a regular xbox controller. It is something you have to get used to. When you first turn on the machine it takes a while to load and after it loads the screen appears and the menu. The picture is not the clearest on an LED, nor sharp but i am sure that can be adjusted in the picture options. The system is wifi but if you can do a hardline then go for it, it will allow streaming or any downloading to take place faster. Out of my steam library of 140+, at least half could be played on the Steam operating system , while the rest could not and could only be streamed via a Windows PC with Steam already on it. From the half of my steam library collection that it could play, half of those only had controller support while the others could be played with a usb keyboard and mouse. The machine has two usb 2.0 ports in front and i believe just one 3.0 usb port in the back. System itself runs cool but has some noise when on. Think of the sound the Dreamcast made. For the $ it is not worth it. If all models were at least 100 to 150 $ less than I would say go for it. Right now my steam machine is just spending most of its days idle.
