Rated 5 out of 5 by from VR is not a gimmick I like many people believed this generations love for VR to be a fad or a gimmick. I gave in and tested it with my Galaxy S7 Edge (Gear VR). While the graphics weren't there, the experience left me wanting/craving more. After comparing the Rift and the Vive, I opted to go with the Vive due to the immersion, motion contollers and room scale (and the fact that any Oculus game can be converted to the Vive with 'ReVive'). I'm completely blown away by the experience. You do need a pretty stout rig to be able to play it, so make sure yours is up to snuff before buying (Download the Steam VR Performance Test).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing product/experience, still young There's literally nothing in the world like being in an HTC Vive. The one to one on the controllers and head tracking is surreal to the point you can throw a controller in the air and catch it while still in VR. The content is lacking and very much in its infancy, much like the tech itself, but this thing is so mesmerizing I've found myself spending hours upon hours in the simplest games. The cons are prohibitive pricing, understandable given the tech and it's newness, cost of production, and niche, lack of content, -and the dreaded screen door. I've got a fairy good rig, 4690k processor (overclocked previously but not since I've gotten the Vive) and an r9 490 8gb XFX card, so latency and quality haven't been issues, but the screen door, along with the more difficult to overcome lack of peripheral vision are the only things breaking immersion as of yet. It's still remarkable but it makes you wish some 4K displays were used for the price. As for content, more will come, and what's out there that's not in Early Access is truly awe inspiring, even with basic concepts after being introduced to VR, but extremely small in scale. Here she hoping for a full length game or two in the near future. As for pricing, we're looking at the first generation. Not of a new product line or sequel console, but an entirely new industry, and frankly given what it provides $800 is excusable. But be warned. You're going to kick yourself if you're not prepared to see in the relatively near future cheaper, more advanced VR coming our way. Buying now would undoubtedly make you an early adopter, which is a badge I'm proud to wear, but it isn't for everybody. I'd encourage everybody to try it for themselves. Take the time / trip and find a demo. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A high price and still wont provide everything The product is fun and great, for a high price. Gamestop says it will give free games with it but they just f you over by saying they are out of stock and take days to email back.
