Rated 3 out of 5 by from A decent TMNT movie tie in...who knew??? Right from the start there had to be red flags when announcing this new TMNT game. 1) It's a movie based game 2) It's exclusive to the 3DS 3) it was developed by Magic Pockets who were responsible for the pretty poor 4 player TMNT beat 'em up game released last year based on the Nickolodeon cartoon But low and behold TMNT the movie game is actually decent. It's not great but just cool enough that if you're a TMNT fan then you should at the very least give it a shot. The game takes place 3 months after the movie where Shredder has come back to wreck havoc on the Turtles and Splinter. Gameplay wise Magic Pockets definitely took an interesting route. It's basically a VERY light diablo clone. It's an isometric viewed, dungeon crawler beat 'em up where you collect items and weapons to level up the turtles. What's also pretty cool is you can craft the turtles new types of weapons based on the items you collect. So for example you can fit Donatello with a more powerful Bo staff that has a chance to poison enemies, or hook up Michaelangelo with nunchucks that will stun enemies for a few seconds, etc. Each turtle also has different abilities/moves and perks that you can level up. Along the way you'll face off against movie versions of Rat King, Slash, Baxter Stockman and then to Shred Head himself. A few complaints I have are that I'd say about 70% of the levels take place in the sewers so after a bit the levels start to look the same, music is almost non existent, and voice clips repeat far too often. Also the game can be completed in about 4 hours tops. I'd say if you're interested then give it a chance. As far as movie based games go this one is actually OK...which is a relief for a change.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just like the movie: Boring and Standard. This game, just like the movie, is boring and disappointing. Its the standard "spam this button" most poor hack-and-slash games have, with nothing new to bring to the table. The graphics are okay, its no Bravely Default, but its pretty average. Younger children, under 10 years old, would most likely like it. There's not really anything inappropriate for that age range, if your kid has seen the movie he can defiantly handle the game. However, the game is being advertised for 10+, and I assure you its a huge waste. They, just like I, will get bored after just a few hours, which is how long the story is. Its not difficult, and there's isn't anything to do once you beat it. There's much worse out there, this is very standard, just like the movie.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good hack and slash Good...unfortunately I have to add for the 3ds. There are not too many hack and slash games for the 3ds so I give it a much better rating. Still a good game though!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shovelware If there is one company that is responsible for a lot of shovelware its Activision. Ninja Turtles is yet another movie tie in game that suck.
