Product Details:

Rune Factory 4 marks the return of the popular Harvest Moon' spinoff that combines farming with dungeon adventuring. For the first time in the series, the player can select to play as a male or female hero, and potential suitors of either gender are also available in order to pursue love, marriage, and possibly a child. As the newly-appointed prince or princess, you can fulfill your royal duties of protecting the town from invaders, or take a more rural approach to governing by raising your own fruits and vegetables and helping townsfolk. Should some dungeon adventuring be on the day's itinerary, you can select from the castle's vast armament of swords, spears, and staffs along with magic for battle against dangerous foes, or even bring along a companion or friendly monster to aid you during your travels.

The Rune Factory series returns with its largest adventure ever
The popular spinoff from the Harvest Moon' series returns, combining farming and family life with monster battling and taming, with an all-new story that's accessible to new players and series veterans alike.

A world where every day is filled with adventure
Whether it be governing as the prince, tilling the fields, interacting with townsfolk, or heading to a dungeon to take on dangerous foes, the diverse amount of activities ensure that each day is a new adventure.

Customize your battle strategy with different weapons, items, and allies
Use swords, spears, staffs and other weapons and magic to personalize your battle tactics as formidable monsters await in trap-laden dungeons. Invite the townsfolk along, develop friendships with certain monsters and grow stronger together.

Pick a Gender and Pursue a Passionate Romance
The main character can be male or female, and either gender can woo marriage candidates from among the townsfolk. Communication and gift giving will be key to romance, potentially resulting in marriage and perhaps an adorable child together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Addition to the Series I have always enjoyed the Rune Factory Series (and similar games) with any game I can get board with games that are repetitive. However with the farming, and dungeon exploring I have enough different things to do that I do not get board. + Lots to explore + If you are stuck or unsure how to do something there is an easy to use in game help (owl at your farm) + Easy to get the hang of it + Good pacing with new items, objectives, areas to explore - Not the best DS graphics - Compared to the other games it does take longer to unlock certain seeds (potentially slightly annoying to veteran Rune Factory players)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whoa Buddy I have not played Rune Factory 1-3 but I'm a fan of the (old) Harvest Moon games. This blows them out of the water. The depth and vast dialogue make this game. I seriously want to talk to everyone just because they have something new to say practically every day. I really feel for my romantic interest and 'leveling' the crops is a real strategy. I also am amazed by multi-member events, weaving the town together into a group instead of inhabitants being defined by their relationship to you and their respective rival. They all have something to say about what each other is doing, its pretty realistic. I'm not sure I could ever go backwards after playing this game. It deserves a perfect rating for the storytelling alone in my opinion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Culmination of a Series I have been a fan of Rune Factory for years, having played almost every entry in the series except Rune Factory 2. Part 4 of the series is a polished, cheerful, and fast-paced entry that should please anyone interested in Harvest Moon or the spin off series. Your character finds himself(or herself) plummeting from a great height, with a serious case of amnesia, to a town ruled by Dragons. You are installed as the prince or princess of the town, while pursuing the usual farming, foraging, monster hunting, and relationship-building. The characters are full of personality and there is plenty to do in your adopted town, Neverland delivers in a big way on this installment. It's a must play for fans and newcomers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rune Factory at it's best! Best of the Rune Factory series yet! Farming 9/10: Very easy to deal with (thanks to the absence of the Runey system from Frontier...). I have had a lot of fun planning out the growth of my plants through different seasons and taking into account the different seasonal areas/dungeons. Dungeon/Monsters 8/10: Quite a challenge! It really pushes you to craft new gear and stay on your toes to learn monster mechanics and watch out for area dangers such as fire shooting up from the ground! It only loses points because of a certain boss that has a "one hit your dead" move which I feel is a bit overpowered (even if it is avoidable you have to be VERY FAST and position the boss the right way to survive) Story 10/10: So in depth! The story has 3 total arcs to it. Each directly starting up where the last stopped. From helping Ventuswill with saving her friends to saving Ventuswill herself you get dragged into hard situations where your character has to make some tough decisions that can be irritating to them or heart-breaking to the point I was almost crying at some points. Characters 9/10: I love all the characters! Each has a very unique personality and look to them and you can get very in depth into their background as you become closer friends with them. Romance/Family Story (Female Side Only) 10/10: The the entire reason I even bought this game! For the first time in RF's history you may start the game and play as a female! (Unlike Tides where you have to play through most of the story first). With several bachelors to choose from I simply kept replaying my save data on New Game+ just to see all the stories! You get even deeper into their personal history and issues than normal, learning about things only a lover can! Some are just plain silly, other guys (like Leon!) have a truly heart wrenching story that just makes you wanna keep going to see how it all turns out in the end for you and your loved one! Later down the line you even get to have a kid (And you can choose the gender!) and raise them as sweet youngling. They inherit some our your abilities and can learn their own. They can even come fight alongside you! The entire family can run the dungeons and monsters out together while learning about life and love itself back home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best RPG game I've ever played. I love this game and I think it's a must have for anybody who likes the RPG's! Honestly I'm not a fan of RPG's and I've tried A LOT of them, this is the only one that I really like. So for those of you who are as picky of a player as me, I would definitely recommend this game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best RPG Game!!! It's an awesome RPG with a great plot. You get to go out and upgrade your weapons and create medicine. I like this game because you can go at your own pace. The one problem is the events, they can get really annoying but the game is still fun with all of the activities and festivals that you can do on the side of the main story line.
