This game is fun for all ages, young or old your sure to enjoy playing it. Its worth buying it. I play this game so much.
I chance to play a childhood favorite in 3D
I remember being in 5th grade and our school got these things called book orders, and flipping through it I came across Rayman 2 for PC. For those of you who are just tuning in to Rayman for the first time Rayman 3D is just the third re-release of UbiSoft's 1999 Billion seller Rayman 2 which came out originally for the PS One, N64, GBColor, PC, and Dreamcast. the second re-release you can pick up for the DS original called Rayman DS. Back to my original story so when I saw Rayman 2 for sell I absolutely wanted it because I had just some time before beaten the first game Rayman Forever also on the PC. I was a big Rayman fan when I was a kid so I really wanted to get this game, and when my mom bought me it I couldn't wait to get it. Then one day at school on my desk was the game. And once I played it I couldn't stop the graphics and game play were awesome. It was Rayman at his best, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for an addicting adventure title.
Very pleased with this port of Rayman 2. The one I played mostly before it was the one for N64 and it was an amazing game. The 3D is very well done, but is a bit intense at times so you might have to take advantage of the depth slider a bit. The use of the analog pad is perfect and makes the game so easy to play.
The only con I can think of is the sound. Very poor quality compared to it's console ports. It seems to cut out some sounds when it a lot is going on and when you turn the volume up all the way it tends to crackle a bit. I know it's not my 3DS because I've played other games and the sound is fantastic at max volume.
I would recommend this game to anyone who wants a fun, timeless and challenging platformer for their new handheld.
Rayman is finally done with the rabbids.
I have been disapointed by recent rayman games.I loved rayman 2 on the dreamcast and the 64 version was exceptional but than ubisoft got cocky with a flood of remakes of this game it was on about 8 systems. These ports were average and rayman 3 was okay I liked the first rabbids game but again they got cocky and made a flood of rabbids games. However rayman has made a comeback this is one of the best launch titles on the 3DS.I love it! The gameplay is flawless the graphics are amazing and they are epic in 3D it feels so lush and real like you are there it is just that great the sound is one of the best parts of these the sound reminds me of super Mario 64,Pac man world 1&2.This game is perfect for 3DS owners i would highly reccomend it.
Best Rayman 2 port out by a long shot
I have tried out all of the Rayman 2 ports, from the great Dreamcast to the horrible iPhone and DS versions. This new 3DS version is easily superior to all of them. I work at a Best Buy, and I was able to play the game for a good two hours one day. The sterescopic 3D really adds a lot to the game (namely it's a lot more fun and easier doing tricky jumps), and Ubisoft has made the camera more managable, tighter controls, and overall the best graphics for any Rayman 2 port. The only real complaints I have about it is that the sound was entirely unchanged, and it's the same cheesey voice acting from the Dreamcast version.
Rayman, I love it.
For those that care, this Rayman 2 is a re-make of the Dreamcast version, NOT the Nintendo 64 version. That includes the graphics, the new soundtrack, not the old one, a different overworld map, and a somewhat different enemy placement. It also means some of the gameplay is a bit different, such as falling into something lethal destroying Rayman in a single blow, instead of just taking a chunk of health away and respawning. Luckily dying this way doesn't respawn you to the beginning of the level. The controls are much easier than the DS remake of Rayman, and the difficulty of the game is just a tad easier because the 3D effects add depth, making jumps easier. Though it's easier, it's much more exciting BECAUSE of the 3D. I did have a problem finding a good spot to hold the 3DS so that there wouldn't be two Raymans, but that seems to be a problem with more games than just this one. In my personal opinion, I prefer the Nintendo 64 versions soundtrack, but there's nothing too wrong with this newer soundtrack either. The biggest problem I had was that the games sound is terrible. It's louder than any other 3DS game I've played so far, which is a plus in my opinion. But the quality of the music becomes static when it reaches a spike in the song, even if you turn the volume all the way down or use headphones. That's the only real problem I have with the game, other than that, collect all 1000 Lums!
No Arms, No Legs, not worth being a port!
As my username suggests im a diehard rayman fanatic that loves the limbless wonder. HOWEVER, this game can be found on the N64, the DreamCast, PS, PS2, DS, PS3, AND XBOX 360 also! there are STILL music. glithes that stop songs from being heard after finishing the stage the"3D inhancement" has you crossing your eyes so you dont have double vision an half-hour after you play it.and it doesn;t offer anything unique to the game at all. BUT, the game is a great 8 year old game on 2D only. for a teenager iwould recomend rayman origins as it can attract a crowd.
How many times will UBISOFT port this game
This game was quick, easy, and left me extremly disappointed. I bought this game never playing any Rayman game before hearing that it was a good series. AFter a few levels I realized that the game wasn't getting any harder, and the stage themselves were the only real challenge. The story is a joke, the game has no extra features, and is good for only one playthrough (4hours). I recommend that no one buy this game until it gets a huge price drop.
Great Version of an Amazing Game
When I purchased the dream cast in the early 2000's I was blown away by most games, but when it came to platforming action I began missing my Playstation and Spyro the Dragon. Until one day I went down to my local game shop and picked up this masterpiece. It has good length and a great story for the time, not to mention the graphics that were years beyond its time. With the new 3DS graphics and 3D effect I cant wait for this treat when it releases on day one.
Good game but the sound quality sucked...
I loved this game when it was released for the N64 years back so yes I chose it to be my free game when I purchased the 3DS. The graphics and gameplay are great... but if you have your 3DS on full volume it blasts the speakers the speakers fuzz out. Even turning the music volume down does not completely solve this problem. But besides the sound problem it was and is a great game I would recommend to others!
