Pokemon Omega Ruby
Hoenn returns in glorious 3D!
We knew this day was coming after the announcement of HeartGold and SoulSilver, and all of the hints in X and Y. The Hoenn adventure is finally returning with tons of new features! Where to start? In addition to adding in Mega Evolution and three generations' worth of new mechanics, we'll also see classic features return better than ever, such as Pokemon Contests and Secret Bases. While it still hasn't been revealed, it's likely that character customization from X and Y could make a return, so we'll be able to outfit May and Brendan however we want. As a longtime fan of Pokemon and owner of both the original Sapphire and Emerald, I'm very excited for this game! Another great feature is that, if you're like me and hold on to all of your old consoles and games, you'll be able to transfer your original Hoenn team to this game through Pokemon Bank. How awesome is that!?
I have played every game in the Pokémon series and I have to say that Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald were my favorites in the series. I would go so far to say that Emerald is my favorite video game of all time! So on May 7th, when Hoenn was confirmed you can imagine I was happy. The pair of games we all know and love, but now updated with 6th Generation graphics, mega evolution, and 3 generations' worth of new Pokémon since Ruby and Sapphires' release! Now, everyone has different opinions, but if you are a Pokémon fan, you will want to get one of these two games. I've already preordered Omega Ruby! Now, if we can just get Delta Emerald released...
IVE PLAYED ALL THE POKEMON GAMES IM GONNA BUY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IVE PLAYED THE GAMEBOY ONE!cant wait.
Nintendo Has Done It Again!
Ok, well just to sum everything up in one word, this game is just AMAZING! I am not a hardcore gamer but I did my best to not beat this game in a day or two. Taking my time and talking to every person in the game, I finished the game in about 10 days on top of other things. I really like how you can re-battle previously fought trainers as many times as you want. I'm especially glad that the game doesn't have roller blades in it because that kind of ruined pokemon x and y for me. The graphics are amazing and the sound quality is great. Also, after defeating the elite four, there is an additional delta episode featuring the legendary pokemon rayquaza. I'm not really big on reviews but I just want to say one last time that this was the most anticipated game for me this year, and I think Nintendo has done an amazing job creating such a great game. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is such an awesome experience and is perfect for all ages.
Brain will explode
I'm currently 19 years old and started out on Blue version way back when I was 5. I have always loved pokemon and always will. When the adv gen first came out I was like 8 and so excited to upgrade. The graphics were way better and everything was so fresh and exciting. Now, almost 12 years later here it comes back, on the 3DS with even more improvements and features. The game looks absolutely amazing, even better than XY. My mind is going to explode when I get my hands on this game.
It's perfect, but it's not fair.
This game is good and all, but it's missing features like on pokemon x and y. you could customaze your character. you could rollerskate and do others features. also it seems their region is even bigger. I know this is a remake but you should add more. Also you need to make Pokemon Delta Emerald.
Have played original. Ready to play this.
Pokemon Ruby was the first Pokemon game that I have ever played. I remember playing it on his GameBoy Advance SP for the time. I was so interested in it that I wanted to get one for Christmas and play it with him. It was kinda unlucky for me, because instead, I got the Nintendo DS Lite. I was happy with the DS, but I really wanted to play Ruby on the GameBoy. When I heard about this game being released, I decided that I had to play this to renew my first gaming experience. I wasn't going to get the 2DS to play this originally, but after some persuasive conversations with my good friends, I am going to get a 2DS and this for Christmas. I also want to get Pokemon Ruby because I was born in July, and July's gemstone is a Ruby. If you have a Wii U and your getting Smash for it. Also get Smash for the 3DS, you can get Mewtwo and 2 CD soundtracks of the game.
The Hoenn region is back and hopefully better than ever. I have heard about the new soar ability which allows for more freedom in the air but one of the features I loved about the originals was the ability to dive in deeper waters to get different Pokémon and I hope that has not changed and that the graphics and control for it have gotten even better. I know they made X and Y more based on France fashion and romance and that is why there was so many outfits and they say that Ruby and Sapphire are different but I hope their is still a little choice because I will be upset if my only contest outfit as a girl it the pink top and skirt I saw, it is annoying that when a girl and wanting to play a girl ending up in pink. That is my only possible complaint at the moment though. I have pre-ordered and paid for both so all that is left is for them to come out and for me to pick them up.
AGH!!!! I am so excited! Ruby was the first game I started with the GameBoy, and it's gonna be one of my favorite ones on the 3DS!!! And with the return of the secret bases, I can do more thing with my friends.
Plays Like Pokemon, But Lacks the Excitement
Pokemon Omega Ruby is a remake of Pokemon Ruby from over a decade ago. As somebody who started with the original Ruby as their first Pokemon game, there were several disappointing issues with this game, but also a few improvements. Firstly, the game has received a major graphical update in all aspects, but is much more cutesy than Pokemon X & Y were, so it doesn't quite look as good as it could. The new mechanics that have been added over the past decade are all present, and contests make a welcome return. Unfortunately, the game was much too easy compared to the original, and playing through it was a breeze, which isn't exactly a term I want to have to use for a Pokemon game. All Pokemon in my party were much stronger than those of any trainer at all points in the game, due to the changes made to earning experience that were introduced in X & Y. This made playing through the game mainly just about the story for me, which although it has been improved, it still isn't very good. There is little post-game content outside of online battles, which have become so competitive over the years that you need to dedicate dozens of hours just towards preparing to participate in any online tournaments. With all of these issues and few improvements, I believe it is safe to say that this is my last Pokemon game.
