Rated 7 out of 10 by ShadowWarrior Fun for awhile
This was my first 3ds game and I enjoyed it for the most part. I don't think the 3d for this game is so great, but it's probably just me. This game has nice gameplay and takes a bit of time to master. Free flight mode isn't really free flight, thanks to the time limit. But time limit can be increased. (5 minutes is the maximum time limit) Mission mode was something that I found the most entertaining. It offered ways to really get used to the craft you were flying and provided a way to kill time. The music is pleasent and goes pretty well with the game. I showed this game to a friend and he liked it. (he had a hard time giving the 3ds back, really glad he has his own now) The only downside to this game is after you beat it, there isn't much else to do. You could try to beat your high scores or start completely over and redo mission mode and free flight mode. This is a game I still enjoy, just isn't as great the second time you play it. This game will kill time and is an enjoyable one. I just wish it had more to offer.
Rated 9 out of 10 by GenesisRaphsodos Great Showcase of 3D strength
This game although some say not the best of the 3DS launch titles stands out as a great title that shows its 3D capabilities. Sure some of the missions can be tough but that makes a game better to play. Even if you do poorly on the objective side of the game you should keep trying and hone your skills flying in the airplane, rocket pack, or hang glider. Just because a game presents a challenge and seems "stupid" does not mean that it should be shied away from. The scenery of Resorts Island truly does come alive through the 3DS screen and some times I get lost just looking at the back ground, landing myself right into the ground. The free-fly mode is one of the best options. It allows you to fly around the island and discover landmarks just like in the Wii version. Truly this game should be hailed as one of the best titles that the 3DS came out with and not sneered at. As one of the first titles it is almost guaranteed to have some dysfunctions and bad "programming" but as a predecessor for later games, it is a very good buy.
Rated 9 out of 10 by unchartedfanboy Incredibly Repetitive, but still fun.
This is one of the first games I got for the 3DS, and the one I played the most often. Some will find it repetitive. You have to admit, though, probably the most repetitive, but, still the most fun.
This game is repetitive, because, for one thing, you just fly around an island, may not sound like that much fun, but there is a whole lot more to it. There is different levels of license’s you can get in the game, but not sure how many levels, I think it’s 3 or more. Also, there are a load of checkpoints to discover by flying to them. Plus, it was pretty fun getting to fly all around. Last, there is some different modes on their as well, that are worth trying out.
The graphics on this game our beyond what I expected and fantastic. In fact, it’ll probably be one of the best games (graphic-wise) you’ll see on the 3DS. From a tree to a huge mansion, the graphics have been perfecting, and others will say the same.

I guess you can say that this game is pretty fun. I bought this game when I purchased my 3DS. so it's a good game to buy with your 3DS, if you don't have one yet. Some levels in mission mode are pretty hard, so you feel like "I'm never doing that level again". But once you complete all the missions, it tells you to get 3 stars in every level. Which, if you ask me, is pretty impossible. I mean, they expect you to get perfect timing every level. That's what usually gets me 2 stars. I like how they brought back Wuhu island and everything. But they're making it feel to much like the Island Flyover in Wii Sports Resort. I really don't like the time limit they put on the Free Flight Mode, either. I mean, sure the time of flight increases and all, but I just wish that there was no time limit, period. I would still really recommend this as your first 3DS game, though.

This was the first 3ds game i bought for my system. I mainly bought it because I dont like fighter games for extended periods of time and i got my 3ds shortly after launch date, now the selection is larger than 3 or 4 games. but it was remincient of my childhood with the original pilot wings if you dont know what i'm talking about either your to young or just forgot about it. took me 5 years to remember what game it was then recently found the cartridge for the 64 at a local place, then the 3ds came out so it was my only 3ds game till zelda's release. but enough of that the game itself is fun and is exteramly difficult if you plan to 100% it, I do wish the free flight mode didnt have a limit that would make it all the better just to relax and soar around the island. and maybe have brought back some of the older events like sky diving but all in all i enjoy picking this game up once and a while and playing it. have to put it down after a while because it will get boring and annoying so if your looking for the sit down and play long game look else where if you are looking for that game you can sit down for 5-10 minutes at a time this works perfectly.

I kinda bought this game on impulse, but when I started playing it, I was excited. The graphics are really great (I prefer to play it with the 3D off), the music matches the mood (I really liked the calm hanglider music), and the controls are nice and simple. I have only 2 major complaints, One is the fact that Free Flight Mode is limited. There's a time limit. When I saw "free flight", I expected to be able to fly to my heart's content. Sure, there are things to collect around the island, but I still prefer to fly endlessly. My other complaint is picky, but I was hoping that there was a Birdman flight mode like in the N64 Pilotwings game. It was a good stress reliever.
Anyway, I still think that this is a good game to play to pass the time, and I would recommend it to casual gamers.
Rated 9 out of 10 by SubjectDelta14 Pilotwings is one of the best 3ds games so far!
Pilotwings resort is the 3rd game of its series. Some people have been complaining that the game is too short and there is not much to do. First of all this game is for a portable system, so the game is not going to be too long but not too short at the same time. For a ds game the graphics are amazing! This game is really a game where you can just pick it up and play. Also Pilotwings really shows off the 3D on the 3DS. This game is very fun, and gets more challenging as the game goes on. You can fly 3 basic types aircrafts, but you can unlock more as you progress. Pilotwings a ton of replay value, and the free fly mode is very fun. I would defiantly recommended Pilotwings to any gamer. This game is one of the best games out so far.
Rated 8 out of 10 by MARIOFAN25 PERFECT GAME FOR ANY ISLAND FLYOVER FAN
if you loved the island flyoper as much as I did in wii sports resort then you will love pilotwings resort. if you chose the story mode it starts with you picking a mii and doing a pilot test and if you pass you recieve your license to fly a plane. as you progress throgh the stroy you unlock jet acks, hangliders and other planes. I don't know how many i points there are but most ogf them return from the wii. from angel falls and the clock tower to the bowling alley and basketball court. along the way to mastering your license you go through unique challenges. from landing planes and jet packs to putting out fires and returning baby aliens to thier mom. so overall pilotwings resort is an awesome game for any 3ds owner.

This is a perfect game for just chilling and laying back. The gameplay is very smooth, and the mechanics make you get that sensation of flying around. Seeing that there have been other installments in this game, I wish there was more to do. For example, I wished i could of walked around when landing on the ground in a rocket pack. I would just love to of been able to walk around the island. This brings me to another point, the island. The island itself is nice, but I've seen it all before, nintendo could of stepped up to make a new map. I felt let down to see that I would be flying around in the same island I already knew. I was hoping to be able to explore a totally new area.
