Product Details:

Bowser has once again kidnapped Princess Peach, but this time, Mario has another objective. The Mushroom Kingdom is bursting with more gold coins than before. Each level is littered with gold as coins rain down from overhead pipes, trails of coins are left behind special gold enemies and gold pipes transport Mario into coin-filled caverns. It's up to players to collect as many coins as possible throughout this all-new side-scrolling adventure. The game also features new and returning abilities, all-new challenges, and a 2-player cooperative mode*. Can you collect 1 million coins? *Cooperative mode requires two systems and two games. Each sold separately.

Collecting coins has always been a part of Super Mario Bros. games, but never has it been this fun! In New Super Mario Bros. 2 for Nintendo 3DS, feel the rush as you power through coin-littered levels all while trying to rescue Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser and the Koopalings in an all-new coin-crazed adventure. The game records all the coins you collect throughout the game, and completing a level is only part of the fun. Chase gold Koopas that leave coin trails in their wake, watch as blocks explode into absurd coin fountains, and transform into Gold Mario for the ultimate in coin carnage, shooting golden fireballs that turn almost anything in your path into coins.

In addition, the new Coin Rush mode adds an exciting competitive element as you go for the high score, rushing through 3 levels back-to-back, then challenging friends to beat your score via the StreetPass feature. If cooperation is more your style, team-up with a friend over local wireless* to conquer the main adventure. No matter how you decide to play, New Super Mario Bros. 2 will deliver constant coin thrills, challenges, and surprises that will delight fans new and old.

  • Run, jump, bounce, and power-up through side-scrolling worlds while defeating new enemies, discovering new secrets, and collecting more coins than ever before.
  • Every level is filled with golden opportunities - gold rings that turn enemies into valuable gold versions, gold pipes that transport the player to treasure-filled caverns, and blocks that explode into absurd coin fountains.
  • All-new Gold Mario can shoot gold fireballs, turning enemies and entire sets of blocks into coins!
  • Coin Rush Mode allows players to collect as many coins as possible across three levels and challenge friends via StreetPass.
  • The entire game can be played cooperatively with two players using local wireless*.
  • The game includes the return of Raccoon Mario, giving Mario the ability to fly and access hidden areas.
  • Created specifically as a pick-up-and-play experience that can be instantly enjoyed by players of all skill levels on the Nintendo 3DS system.
  • For the first time, players will also be able to purchase and download the entire game digitally through the Nintendo eShop. A packaged version will also be available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One Great Game If you enjoy a challenging but addicting game, this is the one for you. Anyone, mario fans or not, will enjoy this. The gameplay is challenging but not overwhelmingly so, especially the boss fights (probably the easiest part of the game). The graphics are also very high quality and the gaming experience is even better with the 3D turned on (but still great without it). It is very formulaic as with all Mario games, but it's still addicting nonetheless and a new experience with each new release. All in all, if you are a mario fan or just want a casual but very enjoyable, high quality game, then this is perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great 2-D mario we all know and love! A Great 2-D Mario title we all know and enjoy! Yet another great game, but only with a 9 cause of something I can't put my finger on... Anyways, another must-buy 3-ds title. Oh, and good twist with the goal of getting 1,000,000 coins. I have had the game for a year and i don't even have 200,000! You can grind on coin rush, but I just don't have the time to play that mode over and over again. GREAT GAME.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Coming From A Non Mario Fan, This Game Rocks I never really got into Mario like lots of others did, but this game is great. The gameplay is very good, the graphics are surprisingly impressive, and the levels can be challenging. My only two problems with this game is the story is bland, just like in most Mario games where it is the same thing over and over and over again. Peach gets kidnapped, Mario tries to save her, he beats Bowser, gets Peach back, the end. Also the boss battles are so easy that they're stupid. I like a little challenge in my boss battles, but my 7 year old cousin can beat all of these on her first try. It's just plain stupid. But putting these two aside, this game is fantastic!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Copy-And-Paste The Mario series is know for innovation, while keeping to its 2D Platforming origins. This does that well, but not well enough. It feels like I've played it before as soon as I got it. The visuals are very impressive, but gameplay is pretty much the same as the originals, with the addition of the newer standard items. Collecting coins is fun for a few months, so I suppose you could pick this up while waiting for Pokemon OmegaRuby AlphaSapphire or Super Smash Bros., but you won't play this game afterwards. I wasn't into it, but ages 7-13 should enjoy this quite abit, and resonably so. Just wasn't new to me. I would recommend it to play it if you're within that age range, or have a kid within that range. But the older than 13 you are the less entertaining it'll be. Overral, NEW Super Mario Bros. 2 is easy to pass up, but we all picked it up anyways.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!! This was the first game that i could play fully on two player ! i have a twin sister we both love this game the graphics are kind of lame and the white raccoon ruins the game for me really in the older games you lost all your life's and you tried again but the white raccoon power ruins it for me sorry

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too easy I got this game yesterday. Only played it for two hours and beat it! I beat the star world, mushroom world, and fire flower world too. It was pretty fun but WAY too easy. I might refund this game because It's kind of stupid. Don't get me wrong, I love nintendo and what they have done, but this was way, way too easy. New Super Mario Bros. on the DS was REALLY hard which I liked. I want challenges, not something mobile like. But the game was good, I would recommend this to people who play every now and then.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great game then it gets..... This is great. You can replay levels as much as you want in any world you want to get more lives when you get to the harder levels in different worlds. The controls work great. It looks like a normal Mario game.it can be pretty simple in the first world but by the time you get the world 5 and 6 you might have a pretty hard time trying to beat the level. I am stuck on world 6 after beating 5 on just a few try's so overall it is a great game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Taking a 3D look on a classic genre. This game plays like classic Mario games with the added benefit of better graphics and a 3D look on it. Overall there isn't much to comment all because it is Mario and not much has changed since the last few games. I'd recommend this to all gamers, not just because its simple, but because its a great game for all ages young and old. While it just Mario I am rating it high because it's a genre/game that doesn't really ever get old.
