Product Details:

Some 25 years after the original Kid Icarus game for NES captured the hearts and imaginations of gamers worldwide, Kid Icarus: Uprising brings the action and adventure of this beloved series to new heights - and new visual dimensions - on the Nintendo 3DS system. The dark goddess Medusa and her Underworld Army have returned, and they've got their sights set on the heroic angel Pit. With the aid of Palutena, goddess of light and guardian of the human race, Pit must fend off this malevolent threat. The richly immersive graphics of the Nintendo 3DS system offer incredible depth as Pit battles enemies by air and by land.

  • Designed by Masahiro Sakurai - creator of Kirby and Super Smash Bros. - Kid Icarus: Uprising features a vividly redesigned game world and a new look for Pit and other returning characters.
  • Pit is unable to fly on his own, but upon receiving the "Power of Flight" from Palutena, he can soar swiftly through the skies for about five minutes at a time. After each stage's initial air battle, Pit enters into ground-based skirmishes.
  • While Pit is battling in the air, the action unfolds like a dynamic guided shooter. Yet when he's facing enemies on land, it handles like a third-person shooter. Throughout the sprawling adventure, players gather numerous distinctive weapons and collect treasures.
  • Beyond the deep single-player adventure, Kid Icarus: Uprising also offers a thrilling and unique take on multiplayer battles. Two teams battle against each other, whittling away their point totals as each team member is defeated. When one team loses all its points, the last member defeated is revived as the powerful Angel Pit. If the other team can track him down and defeat him, they will win the match, introducing a new ebb-and-flow dynamic to multiplayer battles.
  • The game includes AR Card compatibility. Using the built-in 3D camera on the Nintendo 3DS system, the game recognizes countless specially designed AR Cards, with animated game characters popping up in 3D on the game screen and even battling each other when two cards face off.
  • The game's simple, intuitive play control has players hold the system in their left hand, while the right hand uses the stylus on the touch screen for targeting. Their left thumb on the Circle Pad controls Pit's movements, and the L Button fires ranged weapons and unleashes melee attacks. The controls are simple enough to be grasped quickly, but offer layers of depth and strategy for advanced maneuvers. A special control option for left-handed players is also being prepared.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pit soars in for one of the best 3ds games ever! I loved the Kid Icarus series for its vast knowledge on Greek mythology and it's lovable character crew. Perfect voice actor's/tress's fill the parts for this title flawlessly. Love the story and has a great amount of comedy and action. You can adjust the difficulty to make the game more challenging for more serious players and to find secrets for more replay-ability. Highly recommend for Greek mythology fans, and hardcore action and challenge lovers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it. I feel like this was a great way to reboot the franchise. I like Palutena, and Phosphora! I like Phosphora best in the game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Revival! This game, is honestly the best thing since Pokemon, Mega-man, and Digimon. I was so disappointed when I found out they weren't going to make a sequel to this! The game is original in the sense of gameplay, but at the same time allows new aspects such as fusing weapons in order to make stronger ones. Plus, the graphics were unbelievable even in 2D! You need to play this game if you're an anime fan or if you played the original kid icarus. Again, I am hugely disappointed that they're not going to make a sequel to this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not at all what I expected I got this game because of all the hype building up for it. I never played the original game and I was expecting a good first party game from Nintendo. However, once I got it it was horribly not suited to my style. I like video games because they have either really good storylines, strategy, and exploration as a part of them. With Kid Icarus Uprising, I got a game where you fly around or walk around in a confined space not able to explore the world around you. The controls were really hard to manage and I just got bored of it after a couple of days. To this day it sits in my cabinet collecting dust. I have no idea why there isn't a price drop. I honestly just don't understand this game. Basically you go around in a confined space shooting or hitting enemies and getting some type of points for it at the end. The only cool part about the game is that you can merge weapons together and get some cool combinations. If Nintendo decided to ever add to the series they should make some serious changes starting with where you can explore around and go as you like. Some people love the game. I don't understand it. Read some other reviews and if it sounds like something you would enjoy, by all means try it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WORTH IT!!! This game is one of the best in the 3DS library. First of all, the control is great and if you are left handed you can get a circle pad pro for twenty bucks. Second, the story mode and multiplayer really kept me playing and wanting more. I really felt that you could like the characters and that they had lots of personality. The game has a variety of weapons, and you can customize your character in multiplayer. This has to be my favorite 3DS game yet. If you don't have this game, what are you waiting for?! P.S. , Nintendo should release a DLC for this game...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wasnt sure at first but i love this game! I finally got a 3DS three years after they had came out. I have always been a nintendo fan and grew up with my SNES and N64 before going off to the handhelds. Since then ive been a handheld nintendo fan! I did not have any games for my 3DS as i had some DS games but one day i strolled down to Gamestop to look for some used games. I talked with one of the employees who seemed fairly nice. I picked up Pokemon Rumble Blast and also Kid Icarus caught my eye. I knew of Pit from Smash Brothers but did not know (until i played the game) this was based of a 80s game! He promised me that i would love it and if not to give him a call and he would help me find another game i would enjoy. Four months later? Im totally addicted to this game! I love how cute Pit is, and defeating Medusa and Hades. Trying to get up in the higher difficulties and love how there are other places to explore and mini-bosses to beat when your difficulty is higher. Gives each level another reason to explore! 10/10 for this game!
