Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
Looks Full of Awesome
I love the Etrian Odyssey games; they are challenging but rewarding. These games may be a throwback to the days of early Wizardry gameplay, or pen and paper, but I find that both don't have anything (for me) on this lovechild that Atlus created. Know that the game is supposed to be HARD. So if you pick it up, don't be surprised if you die in the first five minutes. It happens to everyone. Once you get your team going, and figure out how to best use each character class, you'll be fine! Most of the time. I love that they brought Etrian Odyssey to the 3rd dimension! It can be a heartfelt song of love to old games in 3D. I'm definitely preordering and getting that Artbook and soundtrack :D. Oh, and while you're in the labyrinth, make sure to pet the deer.
This game is amazing. It it my favorite one of the series. Although the game don't intertwine with each other the story line of this one is creative, long, challenging, thoughtful, and overall great. The labyrinths in this game are a little bit harder then the previous games. This is a good game to start on too. They have an easy mode that goes into the game slow and helps you learn how to play the game. For the players with experience with other Etrian Odyssey games they have a normal setting that is really challenging. This is a great game to spend and put a lot of time into. I hope this review has helped you.
Not Gonna Miss It
I'm not into tabletop or pen-and-paper RPGs, but as far as actual videogames go this is quite unique to me. I played the downloadable demo and enjoyed what I was playing, it's so my kind of game, even though I'm not into said live RPGs.
A Bit Refreshing
Coming off of Heroes of Lagaard and The Drowned City I'd have to say the gameplay became a lot more forgiving. While it was a little less frustrating at times, some of the previous difficulty was severely missed. Though I do appreciate the casual mode to bring new players to the fanbase, I just wish normal mode was a little more difficult. The graphics completely trumps the previous titles, which goes without saying, and the dungeons oddly enough became somewhat soothing. The music and sounds was something else. Being a big lover of music I thought the scores were perfect, and it really enhanced the experience. Still getting a lot of play out of it, and even with the fact that I will soon be buying Untold, I still will be coming back to this title.
i am impressed
Great game, i wanna get the older games in the series after playing this, since this is the first i played. takes full advantage of the 3DS capabilities with a good story, lots of customization, and a cool dungeon map system
