What were they thinking?!
When I bought this case, I was expecting the world since the other Nerf cases were always so well made. That was NOT the case this time. First of all, this was supposed to be a case for the release of the New Nintendo 3DS XL, yet it fit both the "old" 3DS XL and the New one. What is the point? They (Nerf/PDP) already had a case for the "old" 3DS, why make another that can fit it? This was a VERY poor business choice on their part. I was mad but didn't care to even send it back. I just broke it and burned it instead.

I would give it a zero if posssible.
This product is super hard to put on and was really made for the 3dsXL (old). It covers the L and R buttons and are very uncomfortable and are hard to reach. In smash they are required The zl and zr buttons are hard to get to too and note my hands are pretty big. The case doesn't provide much support on the right side. There is many big holes that could be sized down. There is a cutout for the headphone jack but my headphone plug didn't fit. You also can't fold it all the way back. This is a complete waste of $20

Lack of focus leads to failure.
I was looking forward to getting this product as I've liked Nerf Armor cases in the past, but I was sorely disappointed by this one. The armor is meant to be usable by either the New 3DS XL or the standard 3DS XL, and in doing so it is a failure at both. The armor comes with adapter plates that allow it to fit a regular XL but must be removed for the New 3DS. Gaps in the armor are present based on both the feature of the new and old XL models, leaving exposed areas that are unnecessary no matter which model you put in. In particular the gap on the right as you hold the system is problematic. It is meant for the stylus of the old XL but it leaves a large part of the New 3DS exposed on that side. Also, the lack of foam reinforcement on that side means that the plastic piece that holds to system in place is prone to bending and slipping out of place. If you have a regular XL on the other hand there are gaps in the armor at the bottom for the game card and stylus placement of the New 3DS. PDP really should have made the armor for just the New 3DS XL. If you have an original XL, get the armor made specifically for that system. If you have a New 3DS XL, this may be better than no armor, but I'd still hold out for a better version.
